Bannock's honest approach to food is rooted in familiar, wholesome ingredients that are reflective of Canada's rich regional and cultural diversity. Dynamic and playful dishes like the decadent Duck Poutine Pizza and the iconic Arcadian Court Chicken Pot Pie are rounded out by a variety of other classic comfort dishes. The cocktail list is fun and cheeky, while the approachable wine and beer list have a clear Canadian focus.
Great food and service!
This is our second time there. Food is great. Service was great. Nice ambiance. Would defintitely go back again.
It was very good food but the room was so warm that we were uncomfortable and had to leave after our main course. Tables a little too close together, challenging for private conversations
It was a great pre theatre dinner option and would go again. Great service!
By far a positive dining experience - highly recommend and will share on social media ❤️
I always make sure to eat here when I’m in Toronto!
Nick was a great server!
We went for the last day of Winterlicious. I found the options well-rounded, with something for most everyone. The waiter was excellent at describing the dishes and helping us to decide what we wanted, as well as keeping drinks topped up. My only complaint was that it was on the noisier end of things, though that was due to the number of guests and not any music played by the restaurant.
Felt like a cafeteria as opposed to a restaurant. Tables too close together. Food fine. Nothing special. Fast food ambience.
Delicious and amazing service. We went for winterlicious and each course was outstanding.
I didn’t realize the restaurant was part of the mall so that was a let down. It felt very chain like. The food was misleading
Ie/ the meat pie was suppose to come with a side of greens but it was just a carrot sticking out of the top LOL. Not good!
I would not recommend this place to a friend and it sucked since it was a really special moment in our family.
Amazing drinks, food and service! Highly recommend!
The food was amazing and the service was just as good, if not better. Marcel is an amazing server and is a main reason why I always come back (along with having the best turkey burger in Toronto!)
I've been to Bannock for brunch and dinner now and have been underwhelmed both times.
There are so many choices in the city that it's no longer on my go to list for future.
The food just wasn't good either of the times I went.
Very good food, with interesting influences and occasional bits of truly excellent tastes. Favourites were the garlic bannock and Toronto #4 cocktail. Lentil chili, baked salmon, and chicken breast all notable.
Overall, we were very pleased. The service was excellent. Having told our server that we had to be at the theater by a certain time, she made sure everything moved efficiently. We were not rushed at all, but she saw to it that all the courses were brought to our table in a very timely manner. The food was delicious. I did find it a bit noisy, though. I would consider going back at some point.
Excellent food. We also ordered more bannock to take home for our friends. Excellent service. Very popular for dinner.
Decent but not great. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
There was a few questionable menu choices that prevented me from rating a 5 stars all the way. I would go back just for the Angel of Kensington drink, it was delicious. The suggestion would be to not put the gnocchi in the broth as they became mush, and the chocolate ice cream was crunchy with ice.
Food was okay. Loads of carbs, more on the heavier side. Not the best place for people who has a small stomach. Service was amazing though. Flat iron steak was delicious!
Love the food ambiance and service. Have been a few times before and will continue to do so. Very convenient location too!
Food and Service is always great. Nothing better then great Canadian comfort.
I brought my mother for a pre-opera dinner during Winterlicious. The staff were very attentive to our needs, finding us a warm and quiet table. The options were tantalizing, and what we chose was perfect. The portions were small, but the quality of the food made up for that, and since we were going to the opera it was a good idea not to be too stuffed and sleepy.
My dad and I went to Bannock for Winterlicious, the menu selection was good, and the food was tasty. Our server was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the music playlist with many Canadian artists.
We both had the beet salad to start and both enjoyed it. Mains came quickly and were hot. I had the chicken and gnocchi, which was hearty and filling. My only qualm was dessert, which was okay but not great. I ordered the apple crisp, which was a bit dry, and said it had Saskatoon berries, there were 3 in the blob of whipped cream on the side.
Service was exceptional and the ambiance was calming. Good selection for vegetarians.
We went there for Winterlicious. The food was outstanding. I definitely want to go again and try different items in the menu.
We made a reservation for 5:30pm and when we arrived we were told we had to leave by 7:30pm for the next reservation. I thought that was kind of rude given a time limit on our reservation. When we left there were a few vacant tables. The food was mediocre compared to other O&B restaurants.
Overall the meal was okay. Nothing exciting really stood out, comparable to what could be cooked at home.
Apple crumble was coldish, not the way I prefer it but to each his/her own.
Love the food, excellent service! I have been many times, and will continue to go back for the mac and cheese alone.
Food was inconsistent (three of the same dish came out at all different levels of cooked including burnt... Which is odd for a bread). Not worth the price. Nothing to write home about.
Bannock offers really great food, reasonable price, fantastic servers
Excellent Winterlicious menu options. Enjoyed the beet and hummus salad, risotto and peas (recommended) and the apple crumble
The food was delicious, however, what stood out for me most was the service. It was clear that everyone works as a team and honestly could not have been any friendlier. I will absolutely be going back.
Staff are really friendly, but professional. We had the menu for Winterlicious and all our choices where perfectly balanced flavours.
Service was excellent, our waiter was friendly, took our orders quickly, and described the food beautifully, and gave us lots of uninterrupted time to catch up. The description of the food to what it actually tasted was unfortunately not matched. The food was underwhelming, especially the desserts on the winterlicious menu. There wasn’t much Apple in the Apple crumble pie, and the rice pudding was an interesting combo of wet rice with chocolate syrup poured on top of it and a few cut torched marshmallows on top... Atmosphere was good, hopefully the food will improve back to what I remembered my experiences use to be at Bannock.
Can be noisy and difficult to have conversation. The food is good and service acceptable
The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was absolutely amazing, especially the mac & cheese. I will definitely be going back!
totally enjoyed our food. bit of mix up with 'we wanted salad dressing on the side' but waiter fixed right away.
We had an excellent dining experience and enjoyed the food and service. We will definitely come back.
The waitress we had screwed our orders up 4 times and every time I tried to get her attention she seemed to know her mistake, but wasn't going to deal with me about it so each time I had to speak to her superior. Restaurant itself is fantastic and so is it's staff. This was the only time I was very disappointed with service. I will though definitely be going back, but request not to have this particular waitredd. I won't give out her name as just maybe she had an off day, but I won't have her as a server again.
