The parmesan fries and arachoke dip was fantastic, as well as the sangria. The rest of our food was awful. The squash ravioli had no flavor to it, the salmon was under cooked, and the Brussels with bacon and onion was a heap of steamed Brussels in a bowl with limp bacon on top. Thankfully they took off all the meals but our bill was still $75. We were one of two tables eating at 7:30 pm on a Friday night. We will not be back
The service and food was awesome. It was a sparse crowd for a Friday afternoon in downtown Minneapolis, but the servers and bartenders were chatty and good-natured. We were out celebrating our anniversary, so they covered a total of four beers we had in total. Will definitely be back!
Great food & nice ambience.
Seven co-workers came here for a celebratory dinner. The food was excellent and the ambiance of this former grand bank lobby was special. Unfortunately our waiter, Bart, was rude and arrogant. The days of haughty servers has long passed by Bart didn't get the memo and we weren't impressed. The final straw was him clearing our half-full wine bottle. I followed him and asked him to return it which he did with multiple excuses. We did have a problem with the bill(due to my error) and the manager was quite gracious and took care of the issue. He was also apologetic for Bart's various discourtesies. I would possibly give this another try but there are plenty of fine dining options in downtown Minneapolis.
Bank is not well marked, as it in hidden inside the Westin Hotel. There is no obvious outside signage saying Bank is inside. Food was good, service was good, atmosphere was quiet due to not many people eating when we were there. The building itself is full of history. The wine vault was VERY fun to look at.
Our waiter was a very friendly, engaging young man who made our lunch exceptional! Thank you BANK for a wonderful meal!
Overrated and kinda boring.
Wonderfully fresh and delicious lunch choices, tasteful and unique!
Not worth it.
We ordered drinks and apps to start out the evening. I thought the drinks were watered down and not very flavorful.
The apps were ok. The artichoke fondue was good and hot. The truffle fries could have used more truffle. Not a lot of flavor. Maybe have another choice for dipping sauce instead of ketchup.
My trout was excellent. Flavorful and great presentation. I thought the chicken wild rice soup lacked body, flavor and should have been served hotter.
The sliders that we had also could have been served hotter.
Lastly, I thought the wine list was way overpriced.
We went to Bank on a slow, quiet Saturday morning at the restaurant for a group of 12 of us for a birthday brunch. There were few other people in the restaurant, and we left Bank with everyone complaining about how slow the drinks and food came. The staff was very polite, but it took over an hour to even get our beverages (mostly just mimosas). I would recommend Bank for large groups because they gave us a private room free of charge, but the service was so slow that I doubt I will come back, unfortunately.
I was surprised that on a Thursday night, at a hotel, that there weren’t more diners. I think they should reconfigure the room so that it is a more intimate dining experience. The maitre-d also had to wait tables. Delicious food, but the server kept forgetting requests. We’ll keep exploring other restaurants. PLUS items we saw advertised were not available in this Westin restaurant. If you’re looking for nostalgia in the old F & M Bank bldg’s interior, just come in and look (or drink at the well-staffed bar) but eat elsewhere.
The Mothers Day Brunch was fabulous and our party of 8 was seated in our own private room which made our experience second to none. We may have started a new Mother’s Day tradition!
Went there for Mother’s Day. Very pretty and pricey. Food was good but not worth $40.00 per person
The place is beautiful. It feels fancy and elegant. The service was great.
We went for Mother's Day Brunch. It was a good buffet.
I am sure their menu food is even better.
Thanks for showing my mother a good time.
The food and drinks were fantastic! The interior of the old edifice is really cool too. The service was weird though. Our server was a “trainee” but there was no trainer in sight! No huge mistakes but not top quality by any means. Also, they served this classy food and drink in this wonderful space but played loud country music which didn’t seem to fit.
Absolutely AWFUL! Service was ridiculously slow, they were out of the wine we ordered and then had to go get the other bottle out of storage? The wine glass they brought was covered in crusty green garbage. It was absolutely disgusting. I do not recommend anyone every go here.
Have already talked to out of town family and friends about going when they are in town. Cool atmosphere great service good food and pricing was not bad. Celebrated my birthday there as my choice. We had four people one pasta good one Salmon great one ribeye great one pork chop good. We like that we could actually talk and hear each other. Good time
My husband and I went to Bank for our one year anniversary. After we ordered champagne to celebrate, the waitress walked by and looked at our table many times and never asked to take our food order. Our menus were flipped upside down each time as well. The place was not at all busy, with exception to a few people at the bar. The food was alright but nothing special. After dinner my husband asked for another drink but the waitress forgot until 10 minutes later when she came back to our table once we were ready to leave. The venue itself was elegant, however, the music did not match. It was loud pop music. I was expecting soft jazz. Overall, I was disappointed and would not recommend.
BANK is the restaurant at the Westin Minneapolis hotel. It is in a beautiful space with high ceilings and classic surroundings, the site of a former bank, hence the name. Jeannie was our server, she was fantastic and the food was excellent, we split four items as a family. Drinks were good too, and the bar in the center of the restaurant was the main spot of activity, we sat in nice couches on the side.
When we arrived at the host desk, it took her 5 minutes to stop her conversation with the bartender and address us and get us seated.
Also, the GM had decided to have a worker fix sliding doors on a Saturday night. This person smacked the doors together about every 30 seconds for 25 minutes straight. We asked 3 times to have this noise stopped and they did not. A customer should only have to ask 1 time if something is bothering them. If you're in the business of customer experience you should follow our opinions.
They did NOT even comp our appetizer and drinks after all that headache.
So much for a nice date night. We will not be going to The Bank again.
Very nice. Exceptional waiter!
We had a private room reserved for 10 people. We were sat at out table at 4:30pm (time of reservation). We immediately ordered drinks. It took 45 minutes to get these drinks. We then ordered our dinner and two bottles of wine at 5:15pm. It took an hour to get our food (6:15pm). We did not get our wine until 6:30pm. I complained several times to our waitress and also spoke with a manager. While, they were nice. The service did not get any better. Worst service I have had in a long time.
Final Four was in town, but they were accepting reservations, so we walked across town to get here only to be turned away at the door 5 min before our active reservation. She said they were not seating that afternoon, but I showed her my reservation and my tired 10 year old and 2 other friends and insisted. We were sat and there were still several empty tables. The server acted like she was doing us a favor, then balked at my request for ketchup and mustard for the table when I ordered as if she would forget. Everyone we interacted with had the same attitude. Food took a long time to come out and even so the fries were room-temperature cold. Blackened chicken sandwich was tasty. We sat with four empty glasses for quite some time after asking for refills that had to be asked for again.
Horrible. Never received our waters and service was horrendous. I will never recommend this place to anyone and would suggest avoiding this place.
Made reservations here close to Final Four festivities. Very friendly and vibrant atmosphere, and we were greeted with complimentary soft drinks and beer, and snacks. Food and service was very good!
Good for business lunch.
Small menu. I was hoping for more choices. I think the restaurant is very good and the service was excellent, I just was hoping for more choices on the menu.
Service was less than good, but the food was wonderful. Heavy handed on seasoning, but I'm not mad about it
Food was great, and the sweet Porto cheesecake for dessert was amazing!
BANK is located in a beautiful, impressive, and one-of-a-kind setting. My wife and I made reservations for our 39th anniversary and were wowed by the place. After getting seated in a very cozy half-circle booth, we were immediately met by our server. She took very good care of us throughout the evening and made fabulous recommendations. The food was excellent and it was nice to have the chef stop by to chat and see how we were enjoying our meal. Overall, the experience could not have been better for us and the price seemed to be quite fair for the fine quality offered at BANK. As a side note, we also loved the buffet breakfast we were served in the adjacent booth the following morning. Once again the service and food were outstanding.
Our waiter was extremely "unengaged'. I asked for limes with my water; I got lemons. He never asked how our food was. I found 2 large bones in the walleye sandwich.
Enjoyed our visit
Great service and our bartender was excellent. He assisted in getting us seated in a private dining room as we had two birthdays to celebrate! the attention to our group was just right..... and the food and service were excellent. We will be back!
Our waiter (Troy) was very good. Always love coming there, and worth the 40-mile drive. Thanks
The meals were good, the service was awful. We waited 30 minutes for drinks and there were many open tables.
My partner take me a birthday and foods and drinks are champions! Only is poor waitress which is ok because can’t beat foods and drinks! My birthday is best have ever is ever!
Two out of the three of us had great meals. The thirds meal was ok but not exceptional. Great ambiance. Would go back
I stopped in before a concert with a group of friends. It was fairly quiet and we had a great choice of very comfortable, relaxing seating. We were pleased to find out it was happy hour so we ordered beverages and some nibbles to share. We tried the steak nachos, Juicy Lucy sliders, cheese curds and the mini Reubens. Everything tasted fantastic. They had a nice beer selection and the drinks were refreshing. We were very pleased with the ambience of the room. I will definitely be coming back.
