The service was some of the worst ever experienced at a downtown business lunch location. We were seated and given water. Then the server disappeared for almost 30 minutes. Returned to take our order, and the food came 20 minutes or so later. Never checked back on our table of four post delivering the food. My entree was not as described in the menu, so I had to get up and return it. Explained the situation to the host, and he didn't seem interested in helping resolve. So talked to what appeared to be a kitchen lead. They did not understand the urgency of the situation. The server eventually returned long after we were finished eating to refill our waters, but never took our plates, asked if we wanted dessert, or asked if we wanted the check. We asked the host for the check, but he couldn't help, since it seemed he was going on break. Finally one of us got up to find someone to bring the check. Almost two hours later, we were finished. This was an utterly embarrassing business lunch, as I had partners in attendance from out of town. I've had good experiences in recent weeks here, but I can't take the gamble that I will have another similar to this one.
Very noisy and extremely cold (October, but snowing). We wore our coats the whole time. Our waiter was doing his absolute best running around like mad, servicing every table all by himself, but despite his best efforts we waited 25 minutes for our wine. If you come here at all, come to flirt at the noisy bar with drunk businessmen and watch WWF wrestling on the many screens. We came here for elegant dining and it was a serious mistake. This is a bar first, restaurant second. Even at 6:30 in the evening.
Service was slow, food was marginal and the cost was high. The location and ambiance was very good - traditional building.
We booked in advance for a Tuesday lunch for 10 people, and got a private room. Service was swift and unobtrusive, food was good and tasty
Good personal service in a unique, interesting setting. Calamari was OK and a small dish. Salmon and pork loin were excellent. But entrees were delayed and rice pilaf wasn’t served same time as meal. Would still recommend even with missteps.
Enjoyed it very much, although the room was a bit too cool for my taste.
Fun, charming atmosphere. We reserved the Platinum room, which was nice and quiet and a perfect place to hold a working business lunch. The food came out all wrong but the server was attentive and fixed it promptly and once it was there it was quite good.
The event was a business dinner. The restaurant was selected because it projects a formal image on line. It may live up to that image most days of the week. However, the restaurant was a great deal more casual due to the home football game. I was a little disappointed. The staff seated us in a quieter booth area that helped. The food was great but the atmosphere was different than what I expected.
The restaurant wasn’t busy when we were seated, yet it took about 15m to even get waters. When the server seemed to be the only one taking orders for the whole restaurant besides the bar. Our food took about 60 minutes and seemed as to be sitting for awhile before we received it. Our waiter himself was very polite, helpful, and apologetic for everything. Unfortunately his help wasn’t very helpful to us. Wasn’t the best birthday dinner to take my fiancé to.
Also about 1/2 the menu listed on open table has been removed.
Open Table misled us to Bank. We were looking for a steakhouse. Instead, we found a hotel restaurant. The food was serviceable, but nothing exceptional. I would not recommend going to this restaurant, although it is acceptable if staying at the hotel.
The pomegranate chicken and chicken wild rice soup were exceptional ! Beautiful setting , architecture from the 1940’s. Very romantic !
Bank is the restaurant in the Westin. We found the decorations very high end but the background music didn't match the ambiance. Pretty casual.
Okay spot for a business lunch. The butternut squash ravioli was excellent and the prices were comparable to a NYC lunch. You must get a door key from the host stand in order to use the bathroom.
We will be back! We were a group of 9 people. The food was great. The service was good.
Thomas is an excellent waiter with great service. Ask for him if you go. Food was pretty good. We had a couple different apps like charcuterie board, spinach artichoke dip, cheese curds, and the tomato burrata salad.
The beer can chicken and the chicken and rice soup were outstanding. The tuna tower also very nice. Huge portions. The waiter, Thomas, was especially helpful in making recommendations. The food came out a bit slow but we were in no hurry. The tables surround a bar in the middle of the Westin hotel. Very nice adaptation of an old 1940s bank into a classy restaurant.
The setting is unique and attractive. We had a charming, experienced waiter who took the time to describe his favorite dishes. A big plus that he graciously agreed to my 85-year-old mom’s request to cut her enormous rib eye into manageable bites! However, he described my chicken entree as deboned, which was not true. My mom’s steak and my side dish of Brussels sprouts were way over cooked, and the dessert took a very long time to arrive. The music soundtrack was unpleasant. And when we arrived, it was not noted on this app so we were marked as no shows.
The staff was outstanding. It was a nice restaurant and the food was good.
We tried to enjoy our very tasty dinner (beet salad, caesar salad, seafood linguini, ½ chicken) in a very nice booth ... sounds good ... until the wedding party of 80 showed up. People spilled over into the bar area, pushing and brushing up against our table, mostly presenting us with the view of their bottoms. We moved to a different booth. Our extraordinary (!!) waiter - Thomas White - moved us into one of the private dining rooms. That helped a lot. We enjoyed the architecture of this place, a former Bank, the history, the food, the size of the servings and especially our waiter. The very, very young Manager who talked to us for a moment has a lot to learn. Come with a big group to celebrate something and enjoy this restaurant. For a tete-a-tete dinner ... go somewhere else.
other reviews said "quiet" ... the room is beautiful and does not need popular music played in a large echo space on inappropriate installation .
Food was quite good , not busy but took a while to get someones attention and be seated however our server was friendly and helpful .
The food was really good, but the service was not. The person who seated us became our server, and it took her a very long time just to get back to us. We saw our drinks sitting on the bar for quite some time before they came to us. We were sitting close together, but all we could hear was the two people sitting at the bar‘s conversation. We also didn’t know that this was a hotel restaurant. It was never explained that it was a hotel lobby restaurant. We had a hard time finding it because we were looking for the name of the restaurant, and we should’ve been looking for the name of the hotel. We will not return ever.
30 minutes without a waiter coming to take our drink order so we left.
Food quality fine and server cordial but he was handling room service as well so service was not up to par
The menu is unimaginative. My friend’s soup was cold and my sandwich came not as I ordered.
Food was pretty good overall, the beer can chicken was wonderful! Our server was fantastic and had great recommendations. Had someone singing who was also very good.
Celebrating 2 birthdays. The restaurant was busy with limited staff but, we received excellent service and were very well taken care of! All of our dinners were delicious and we will definitely be back!
The wait staff was wonderful. When we arrived, it was very loud in the bar area
Without even asking, the host offered to seat us in a small, private room. How accommodating! The food and service were both outstanding.
Varied (tho not too varied!) menu with lots of interesting choices to suit everyones taste. Top notch professional service that was not intrusive (one of my big pet peeves! “Is everything ok? Let me interrupt your conversation just to ask again or let me tell you the specials”) service was excellent!
For what I wanted, uninterrupted conversation with good food and drink) this was perfect.
There for lunch, nothing great....had heard that it was so pretty and just was not impressed. Lots of people coming and going to the hotel, that was irritating.
Entrees were excellent. Perfectly spiced and cooked pork chop, perfect rib eye. Generous portions of sides. The tuna tartare app was could have had more flavor. Service was genuine, entertaining and helpful.
My reservations were at 11:45 am. I didn’t get served until 12:30 pm.
Great ambiance. Bartender is rude.
Food was delicious.
Shout out to Bart who went above and beyond to make our team dinner the most enjoyable experience! He was quick to respond to our needs, made wonderful recommendations, and helped address several dietary restrictions for guests. We'll most definitely return to BANK when in Minneapolis!
Our server Bart was terrific! Great service!
The food was good but the service was soooo slow. We sat right by the kitchen so heard the interactions with the back and seemed to be very frustrated with the time the food would be ready to take out to customer. Our server was very helpful and friendly but we were not expecting to take two hours. Loved the musician! Perfect to have while waiting forever for your food.
BANK is a fantastic restaurant. It's the perfect place for nice work lunches to bring clients to, and it is also wonderful for a classier happy hour. The space is impressive and beautiful, the service is always of a high level, and the food is delicious.
Troy was so welcoming and very helpful during a Father’s Day brunch for our family. Thanks very much!
The service was so slow. I stood waiting to be acknowledged for seating for 15 minutes and there was one other person at the restaurant.
The parmesan fries and arachoke dip was fantastic, as well as the sangria. The rest of our food was awful. The squash ravioli had no flavor to it, the salmon was under cooked, and the Brussels with bacon and onion was a heap of steamed Brussels in a bowl with limp bacon on top. Thankfully they took off all the meals but our bill was still $75. We were one of two tables eating at 7:30 pm on a Friday night. We will not be back
The service and food was awesome. It was a sparse crowd for a Friday afternoon in downtown Minneapolis, but the servers and bartenders were chatty and good-natured. We were out celebrating our anniversary, so they covered a total of four beers we had in total. Will definitely be back!
