The food was good, not great. The steak and salmon didn’t WOW me. The entrees were average. Those desserts though...were bomb!!
Food was solid but not spectacular. Servers were very pleasant but overall service pace was extremely slow. 1 hour 45 minutes for lunch. Most of that time was waiting between courses.
Food was ok. Not as flavorful as expected and choices were limited. Service could have been a little better. Would go back for a quick bite but not for a full dinner.
Place looks a little old and beat up. I visited during restaurant week so it was busy. Service was better than the food and environment
As always, the food and service were great. Was a wonderful way to end a fun weekend with friends.
Definitely a great experience food was amazing.
Great restaurant! Our meals were delicious. I especially love the salmon; cooked perfectly and seasoned with complimenting flavors. The service was incredible. Almost every six or seven minutes, somebody of staff stopped by our table to make sure that we were looked after and our drinks were never empty. I definitely recommend this restaurant as a place to add for date night for its overall ambience. Another satisfied consumer. 😊
Food was terrible and bland. Servers condescending and incorrect about American Whiskey. french onion soup was bland. no cheese and weak light colored broth. chicken was dry and tasteless. the trout was ok but not flavorful. never ever again
We went during restaurant week so the value was fantastic. Wait staff was super and the food was very good. We would definitely go back again. I’d recommend this restaurant.
It was a very fine dinner—one of us a la cart and the other restaurant week menu. Service was outstanding! We had a nice table by the windows. It was a little noisy but a wedding party was happening. Definitely worth another visit.
Went there for restaurant week and really enjoyed the food. My dad and I both had the French onion soup and steak and really enjoyed both. The service was very friendly and the food came out in a timely manner. Would absolutely eat here again!
Food and wine were exceptional
Attach am writing to you to complain about the dinner me and my friend had in your restaurant.
We were there on January 16th @6pm During our visit we notice a number of issues and regarding our meal and service.
Firstly, we were seated before two other parties who was seated right next to us but they were served before us.
Secondly, the meals we received was down right horrible. I ordered the filet mignon which was over cooked, dry and burned. The carrots was burned to a crisp...I thought carrots was suppose to be orange soft not blacken and crispy. My friend ordered the roasted chicken and she stated that her chicken was tough and dry.
Worst of all, our food was cold, the plates was cold which confirmed what I had stated above...out of the two parties who was seated next to us and came after us was served before us while our food sat wherever for God knows how long...
Finally, I know it was restaurant week and we was getting a meal at a slightly cheaper rate so, my question to you is, was the reason our food was as horrible as it was....i would think during restaurant week you would make sure the food and service was the best or at least good enough for people to want to come back on a regular day to experience the whole atmosphere and the food....well from what I received on January 16th between 6pm and 7:30pm I’m really going to have to reconsider even if I want to come back or speak anything good about Banks and Bourbon restaurant.
I trust that you will seriously consider my complaint and feeling and give me a reasonable explanation as to WHY our service and food was so bad.
is the letter I send to Bank and Bourbon.
Food was not bad but my steak was overcooked. Tasted great still. I was expecting more from Bank & Bourbon given the name and prior reviews, and it's not bad at all, but if it wasn't restaurant week prices, I don't think it is worth it. Butcher & Singer is the wayyyy superior steakhouse in this regards. That place has never disappointed me once and I have eaten there >5 times whenever I am in town.
the steak was overcooked and a bit dry. the chocolate dessert was too much cake and too sweet
Very expensive and not enough food. Climate was cold. Staff was professional.
Wonderful meal! Definitely worth checking out. We’ll be back. :)
Professional and accommodating. The food is top notch and the drinks are delicious. Great menu for both. Will definitely be coming back and recommend for anyone
The whipped ricotta with figs and honey appetizer was scrumptious. Salmon was done to perfection. Great service and wonderful people watching by the front window. Highly recommend
Amazing brunch. Great food great cocktails
The food was dry and bland. Considering that I’d say it was overpriced too.
We came for our wedding anniversary. My husband also has celiac disease. I cannot truly capture the extraordinary service we received with a written review. From the moment we were greeted by the hostess until we we were cheerfully wished good night, everything was perfection. The hostess began to seat us at a two-top, but when we asked if we could have a cozier table to sit beside each other, she graciously and immediately accommodated us. One of our servers came to deliver a delicious platter of breads and when we declined due to my husbands gluten restrictions, they swiftly came back with a generous tray of grilled gluten free bread. Our waiter gave us complimentary champagne to celebrate our anniversary. When we asked what items we could order on the menu that were gluten free, he said to order whatever we wanted because the kitchen would make anything we wanted gluten free - they would adjust and accommodate us in any way. We were checked on consistently, discreetly, and with the most excellent care. We ordered a variety of small plates including the pastrami smoked pork belly, whipped ricotta, the ham sampler, brussel sprouts and roasted sweet potatoes, and the cheese platter. Everything was expertly plated, delicious, and brought to us in timely succession. We could not have had a better, more romantic evening. Surrounded by excellent servers and culinarians - the care and understanding with which they accommodated my husband’s dietary needs made us feel safe and welcomed. Many many thanks to the staff at this fine center city restaurant for delivering an outstanding anniversary celebration.
Unfortunately they were only serving limited price fixed menu options. Food was good but probably not worth the cost. Early New Year dinner.
I loved the fact that tables weren't placed tightly together. An excellent place when you feel like something slightly upscale yet not stuffy.
Love the menu here. Great small plate options. Whipped ricotta is delicious, whole fish is great but loved the blackened trout Reasonable wine list.
The food was just okay for the money. The service was extremely slow. The waitress did ask us if we got our one appetizer which was simple grilled octopus...that took 20 minutes and it took us almost another 40 minutes after that to receive our entrees. It was NOT that busy that evening. Being a hotel restaurant could be part of the problem but we expected more
It was Christmas Day so a limited menu.
Excellent meal and service. Lighting level could have been a little lower.
Christmas Eve prix fixe dinner was excellent. Filets were perfectly done as requested and cut like “buttah”! Appetizers and desserts were likewise. Exceeded expectations.
The food was good. Nothing to write joke about. However, I wanted to have a nice leisurely brunch and was rushed along even though there were barely any diners. The check was dropped without asking when we intended to have a cocktail and pastry basket.
Had lunch a couple of days before Christmas and they only had one waitress working the tables so the service was extremely slow (not her fault). Food was very good but the extremely slow service (one hour to get drinks served!) let the place down
We enjoyed dinner here. Service was great. My wedge salad was ok but a little light on the dressing. The roast chicken was good as were the fingerlings and mushrooms. I thought the Brussels sprouts could have been a bit more tender. Cocktails and wine were great.
Very friendly and professional staff. They helped accommodate dietary requests such as vegan and didn’t rush us at all.
Good restaurant conveniently located at 12th and Market Streets.
a nice place for drinks and snacks but not much more. Service was really poor as we waited over an hour for food that came out cold and was honestly underwhelming. Would have expected more given the price point.
Best experience and good I’ve ever had in a restaurant!! We will be back !!
B & B used to be amazing and special. The food was excellent but it had a lot to do with the staff. There is no longer any pizzaz or energy here and food is so-so. A sad let down.
Our server was great, but not impressed with the food. The French onion soup had no cheese on top and was not flavorful. I also had the pork chop which was way under cooked, couldn’t get through it with the knife they gave me and they said that was the steak knife, and it had no taste. Couldn’t even finish it. The desserts were good which makes up for it. Everyone else had the fillet which they all said was very good.
Food was amazing. I had the trout with the brussel sprouts, fries, and the ice cream sandwhich. Yummy. Loved it. Will be back next year and the year after.
Inside the restaurant quiet cause of NFL game night, bar in hotel lobby crowded cause of monstrous video screen showing game ;)
