Bank & Bourbon Ratings and Reviews
I wasn't sure what to think in the beginning. I went for an anniversary and it seemed a little more casual than I had thought. However, we were seated in a corner by the sidewalk away from the chaos of the bar. I like how they had flights of whiskey on their menu because I did want to try more than one. It would have been nice to pick different ones, but I'm sure that can be tough with price points. I didn't go for an entree because I wanted to give a few of the appetizers a try. I thought the pierogies were the best, but the tuna tartare was also delicious. I had some of the chicken entree and that was full of flavor, falling right off the bone. It was also really nice of them to bring champagne over at the end. I'd come back, but for something a bit more casual.
The service was horrible. Not only was my order messed up, but they had the audacity to send back the same plate by only taking the bacon off. (I don't eat meat) so once the plate was brought out, it came back in less than 10 minutes. The food was bland & i'd rather have red lobster.
We were at restaurant for restaurant week menu. We had not been there before and left with excellent impression. The waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was very good and of course great value due to restaurant week pricing. We will return though for regular menu. Seating was quiet and comfortable. Great visit overall.
My daughters and I dined there during Restaurant Week. The price and choices were very agreeable, and we enjoyed our meals. The portion sizes were just right. I appreciated the decor and the large windows which provided a view of the street corner. The servers were quite friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back with my husband sometime soon for dinner.
We spent New Year's Eve here. We arrived early and decided to grab a drink at the bar - the bar tenders could not have been nicer or more informative. Dinner was good - it was a $65/person 3 course meal (reasonable for NYE in the city). The oyster first course was fabulous and the potato soup was good. The prime rib and filet dinner courses were both good and desserts were fine. Service was a little off - I had ordered the wine pairing and my drink came several minutes after my food with each course. But that is the only complaint, and given it was NYE, it was still overall a good night. They also did a great champagne toast at midnight.
Second time dining here- just ok this time. Waiter didn't know what
"crudo" was when we asked - despite it being on the prefixed NYE menu and although the food was very good my husband and I both got bad stomach aches later that evening into the following morning (we both had the medium rare filet mignon). Not sure whether we'll be back again.
Really enjoyed the experience at Bank and Bourbon. Our server made excellent drink selections, allowed us plenty of time for conversation, paced the meal very well. Wine list has some hidden gems. Filet was delicious. The pork chop was beautifully presented, but was a tad dry.....perhaps because it was served sliced. But nevertheless, it was an excellent experience!
My husband and I dined at Bank and Bourbon for Christmas Day. After waiting an hour for our waiter to take our drink order, my drink came, with a FLY in it! There was no apology from the waiter nor was the drink taken off our bill. I was so grossed out and there was no one that seemed to care. Our food was good, but not great. It was not worth the $180 we paid. We will never be returning or recommending this place.
Our 2nd Christmas Brunch/Lunch here (2 years in a row). Looking forward to many more!
I turned Vegan this year and was worried about menu Choices (last year, inhad Eggs Bennie). There were many vegetarian and vegan items to choose from! I went with the Roasted Brussels Sprouts And Roasted Fingerlings—Delicious!
Sunday was my first visit to Bank and Bourbon to celebrate a Christmas Eve dinner with my best friend. Overall, I have to be honest and say I wasn't terribly impressed. Service was okay, nothing that exceeded expectations.
The food was okay, they had a 3 course set menu for $55 per person for the occasion. I started off with the tuna tartare, which was good and probably my favorite part of the meal. The main course, salmon was very dry, and not too flavorful, lacking a bit of seasoning as well. Lastly, the chocolate yule log was okay, but a tad on the dry side for me as well. Based on my experience, I likely wouldn't return but I'm glad I gave it a shot.
Met a client here for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. Staff was very professional, attentive, and respectful of the fact that we were having a meeting over lunch. I had the seared chicken salad and he had the beef tartar. Both dishes were very well done. The yogurt dressing on the salad was phenomenal. Dishes were well sized for lunch portions and the pricing was reasonable for Center City. Will be taking more clients here.
It was our first visit to the Bank and Bourbon and we liked it a lot. It was a convenient walk to the City Hall in a nice neighborhood with many ohter bars and restaurants. We had the Scallops and the Filet Mignon and both were delicious, cooked to perfection. Would definitely go here again and next time we would also try the bourbon selection.
We enjoyed B&B on our annual Christmas visit to Philly. It's very convenient if you are staying st the lowes or the Marriott The food was excellent. The service was very good. Thanks to Natalie. We are big whisky drinkers and one reason we came here was for the extensive Bourbon selection. That said be careful. The drinks are small and very expensive.
I had the special which was roasted trout which was exceptionally good. My wife had a filet which was done to perfection
We didn't expect to spend over $200 but we did due to the high cost of the drinks. But it was worth it for the Food
Be aware that the seating can get a little tight and it is a noisy space especially if there are large parties in the side rooms
My experience at Bank and Bourbon was exceptional from the time I made the reservation to the second I left. We had a bourbon tasting that was incredible in a unique and private room, followed by an amazing dinner. Every person I dealt with was kind, knowledgeable and eager to provide us with a quality experience. We loved it!
