About Banc Cafe
A neighborhood bar restaurant occupying the space of a 1920’s bank. The décor is inspired by nineteenth century Parisian establishments. Terra Cotta textured walls, dimly lit chandelier’s, copper table tops & curved banquette seating create a very unique and intimate setting.
Executive Chef, John J. Loughran formerly of River Café in Brooklyn has created a menu that changes seasonally; using the best of locally sourced ingredients. Chef John’s philosophy, buy local and be creative. This is evident in every dish you taste at Banc Café.
Our cocktails are created using fresh fruit & natural ingredients.
We feel that tasty food & flavorful drinks provided with honest friendly service is a great way to win someone over. We hope that someone is you.

Banc Cafe Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant was such a disappointment. The food was average and the noise levels very high. The waitress was pleasant until the end when she said that they needed our table for a large party that had just come in. Although we had finished and paid our bill, we were still chatting and it was very ungracious. I will not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends.
Lunch with a friend. Great place for a catch up meal. We arrived early and were seated immediately. Wait staff lovely. We had a shared appetizer and a salad and sandwich respectively. Highly recommend the tuna/avocado appetizer.
We weren't rushed and look forward to returning when we're in the neighborhood.
Chose Banc Cafe for its location and menu. Lively atmosphere with live music later at night. Varied menu to satisfy any taste. Small plates and bites, salads, soups, pastas, and big plates offer so many options. Everything was tasty, portions were generous, and prices were moderate. Good choice for casual dining.
The server took forever to take our food order. All of my friends ordered the exact same brunch entree and all but one came out.. my friend got his meal 10 full minutes later which created a real awkward vibe because we ate in front of him and then watched him eat. The server said that it was because they "ran out of hands" which is total BS. Apart from the service, the food was average at best.
I have walked by this place a million times and have wanted to go in for so long! I was treating my boyfriend to a celebratory dinner and used the event as my excuse to try it out! We got a table on the patio, which is beautiful and has lovely lights hanging over it. The ambiance on the inside of the restaurant is great as well; a little old fashioned and glamorous but new and clean looking. We both ordered cocktails; a manhattan for myself and a thyme drink followed by an old fashioned for him. My manhattan was slightly watered down, but his drinks were fantastic. We decided to go all out and ordered an appetizer, entrees, and a dessert, and I cannot say enough good things about the food. The calamari appetizer was a large portion and perfectly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. My angel hair pasta dish was TO DIE FOR. It was simple and elegant, but the vodka sauce was delicious, and I have been thinking about it ever since! My boyfriend had the steak with bleu cheese, and he was raving about it for the entire 30 seconds it took him to scarf it down. We somehow made room for the molten lava cake, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. We did have a number of servers waiting on us which was a little confusing, and each did not spend much time at the table, but that was alright. All around a great experience, and I will definitely be back to try lunch and brunch!!
Great food, excellent service! Many of the staff members have worked there a long time and they are excellent! We love the food but it's the staff that makes the place great! Music can be a tad too loud during prime dinner hours and can make it hard to hear conversation at the table. If they could turn it down a smidge....
Our favorite neighborhood hangout. The food is interesting and usually good. Went for brunch, ordered a Bloody Mary that arrived without its usual trimmings of celery and olives. That was pretty disappointing. Ordered the Fritata, which was more of a open faced omelette with a glob of cheddar cheese...not so good. Another person ordered the eggs with hollandaise and salmon and that was much better.
overall a good experience, but waiter /bar tender /cook could have used a little more effort to snazz up their offerings .
Came here with 6 friends for my birthday dinner. The restaurant was perfect! The food was delicious and the server was fabulous. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! Everyone loved their food and their was an option that appealed to each of my friends with very different tastes.
Great brunch place! We had an awesome time, really solid menu with stuff if you were in the mood for either breakfast or lunch, reasonably priced, great drinks, and awesome service! Would absolutely recommend to others and go back. Great outdoor terrace, recommend getting there early to get a table outside (no reservations for these). Inside was also cute and a more romantic setting, would love to try it for dinner sometime.
Made a reservation for a Thursday for a quick drink and appetizers - love the Happy Hour deals till 10pm. We ended up getting the special of the night which was an Asian steak salad, which was DELICIOUS. Wine was good just a little loud if you're going for a meal. But there's also a separate dining area, which would be quieter if there for a full meal. I will definitely be going back.
Banc Cafe is our neighborhood restaurant which we go to at least 3 times a month. My husband and I eat here for Brunch and dinner and it is my favorite place to have a quiet lunch with friends. I can honestly say that everything on the menu is wonderful. My favorite salad is the Quinou and Beet salad. The service is always great with friendly servers. Try it for I'm sure it
will become a favorite of yours too.
