We love this restaurant! The specials are so unique, the flavors amazing!! The food never disappoints! And we love getting Dana as our server-she is knowledgeable and personable!
The food here is wonderful, but the service was seriously lacking. It got a little better as the evening wore on, but it started out horrible. It took about 30 minutes to get water and we had to ask 3 times. In the end the food (and the company) made it worth the wait, but they could be so much better if they addressed this issue. It was a Saturday night, the place was crowded, maybe they didn't have enough staff. Our server seemed pretty busy.
Great food, great people and great service ! Wine paired to food - excellent choices.
First time at restaurant Had lunch with my friend of 58 years. Great food , atmosphere and service. Will definitely return. Thanks
Loved this place! Casual fine dining at its best. Beautiful and hip with outstanding curry!
We came for date night. We ordered veggie spring rolls and tom yum soup to share. The soup only had 4 pieces of shrimp. My husband ordered the great prik dish with pork. The portion size was very small and my husband commented that was very little pork. I ordered the Pad Thai Goong based on waiter’s reco. The portion size was good but again it only had 4 pieces of shrimp. For $26 I would except more shrimp. There was also a live baby spider crawling on my plate. I should it to the waiter (Max) and he asked if I’d like a new dish. Um, duh, yes I would. He brought out a new plate within abou 10 minutes. But never offered to comp my food for the inconvenience. My husband was kind enough to stop eating his dish so that we could finish our food together. Definitely do not recommend this place. Poor service and bugs!
The service & meal was excellent. The server & hostess did a great job explaining all the chef specials & any questions we had. The food was delicious & great presentation. Highly recommend.
Have eaten at this restaurant many times and the food has always been delicious. Unfortunately not so on Wednesday. I had the Tangy Cashew Chicken and the Chicken was so over cooked I could barely cut it much less chew it. I asked for spice level 3 and it wasn’t even a 1 on their scale. We ate outside and the table was so wobbly my son had to fold up a napkin under one of the legs. Will think twice before going again. The waiter was very attentive without being overboard. Deserved the tip he got. Wasn’t his fault the food was worse than I cook at home and that’s saying something. I’m a horrible cook!
A fresh, innovative menu and excellent service on their cozy patio made a perfect evening for outdoor dining.
Great as usual!
Food tasty - though not all authentic Thai ingredients.
Timing of service was an issue - main came only just as I was finishing entree. No time to digest. Whilst next table who has ordered before me, received their main with a delay - which would have been preferable.
Girl bringing food out also just ‘plonked’ it down on the table - could have been done with a bit more finesse.
We went on a weeknight. Food was good as usual. Service was very slow.
I loved the food, best Thai so far!
Restaurant is cute and I love it is on Open Table, but my first time there was disappointing. Service was slow and not very experienced. My meal was not very tasty. My friends curry looked good and she enjoyed. My Pad Thai just not very good. The floral ice tea was great.
The outside patio had bugs & mosquitoes.
When we went inside, the room was too hot.
We absolutely love the food!
Our service was great & the chicken pad Thai was even better. Banana Leaf never disappoints-great place. Lunch is ideal as prices are much higher for dinner.
Could be the BEST Thai in Cincy. A hidden gem. Pricey but so worth it
Great service and food. A little bit pricey for appetizers and drinks, but the entree price was worth the price. Great atmosphere.
We celebrated our anniversary there....our first time dining at Banana Leaf. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about menu. Food was pleasing to the eye and delicious. The orchids were beautiful! We will definitely go back.
Riya our waitress was very friendly and explained the menu well. All staff were friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! I don’t like spicy foods but my dad and husband do, so the restaurant is great because you can tailor your food to your spice level.
Great and joyful noise from young kids in next table tolerable for almost all of us. Carol and I are grandparents so no issue, but guests are not.
Food smells like boiled milk.
Waiter was stinky.
Perfect application of spice. Hot but not abusive to the pallet.
Great food, great service, fun atmosphere. I love the history of the building, makes the meal that much more fun! The "heat" of the spice is adjustable to the diner's desire. Overall great place for dining.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious!
Love the Banana Leaf!
Great food, a little awkward with the entry and getting checked in for a table. Once seated a great experience, the waiter was knowledgeable and spent extra time going over the menu. The food definitely didn’t disappoint, great flavor and spice. Overall a great experience.
Best pad Thai I have ever had. Amazingly fresh and tasty. Great service and relaxing atmosphere.
Chef Pom and Dana create a fantastic environment to enjoy some of the finest Thai dishes you can find in the U.S. .... Seriously, very very creative, tasty selections, that change seasonally. My family has fallen in love with the staff, the location, the food, and the way we feel like family. Will we be going back? YEA!
My birthday. Food was great. Server got confused and brought the wrong wine. My friend said she would drink the wine he brought. She should not have been charged for that wine. Food was very good. Pad Thai and dancing shrimp app were the best!
Had booked it for a Prom night dinner for 10 well in advance. Reconfirmed on phone a day ahead. After waiting for 30 minuets and still not being seated had to leave to find another place for this special occasion. Very disappointed.
NOT A PLACE TO TRUST IF ITS AN IMPORTANT EVENING FOR YOU.
I had Barramundi Sea Bass and my wife had Coconut Curry which actually came in a coconut. Both were excellent. The Leaf is located in an old house so we were in a room with one other couple. This didn't bother us but may be off-putting for others as we could hear their convo. Excellent food with intimate atmosphere.
Great place to eat. Awesome food!!
I tried out the current special, sea bass, it was outstanding. Almost wanted to place a second order for desert it was so good.
I love this restaurant, so not a whole lot will keep me from returning... HOWEVER, they have one waitress who is just awkward.
She waits on my friend and I every time we come in, yet she acts as though she has never seen us before. She always questions me at least once when I tell her my spice level, even though I am very clear what I am asking for.
Yesterday, my check was $13 and change, and I gave her a $20 and she asked if I needed change. One of my biggest pet peeves because I used to wait tables and always assumed the person would want change unless they said not to. So she came back with a $5 bill and a $1 bill and two dimes. Luckily I had some more singles in my wallet - but our service didn't warrant a $5 tip on a $13 bill.
We didn't get offered refills on our drinks. And she completely forgot to bring back my friend's check with the credit card.
I wish we could get a different waitress when we go there for lunch because the food is incredible but the waitress makes it just an awkward experience.
The chef’s special was outstanding - duck street noodles! Cannot wait to go back!
This place was wonderful! We stopped in due to Cincinnati Restaurant week and we will be back. Food was so good and the service was top notch. Our waitress Dana was so friendly and knowledgeable. Definitely have raved about it since our dinner!
Cincinnati restaurant choices were excellent. Panang curry at spice level four was wonderful; my wife had signature pad Thai with egg lattice and it was exquisite
