Our go-to place for Thai. Outstanding flavours, friendly service.
Food was disappointing this time. Ordered Pad Thai with prawns/shrimp but got a dish without much of any meat at all...the little that there was, was chicken. Nobody came to ask how the meal was, either. Very disappointing I had recommended this restaurant to our friends who were with us.
A gem in the heart of Langley. Best Thai food around.
Wonderful food & service as always!
The food was presented well, was hot and fresh and each dish had its own unique flavours. We tried a number of dishes and everything was delicious. Our server was engaging and had helpful suggestions. We'll definitely dine there again!
We had seen and heard so much about this restaurant but were quite hesitant in going. WELL.. Let me tell you I'm so glad we did! The best meal we've had! We went with another couple and all four of us have now found our new hotspot. It was so good we went again on the Monday. All I can say is the service was a tad slow but given the restaurant was standing room only, I understand why. I really can not say enough about how good the food tasted. It was spicy (because I like it that way) and soooo flavourful. Just wonderful.
We have been to this restaurant at least four times now. The food is excellent but the service is incredibly slow. The staff are friendly and do their best, but the food always takes at least 45 minutes to come out. During our most recent dining experience it took one hour. In my opinion this is too long to wait for a meal.
We would still recommend this resturant to a friend, based on the excellent food and nice atmosphere, but I will be sure to warn them about wait times for meals.
Amazing food and service, very accommodating! Definitely recommend this restaurant!! Food was incredible!
Second visit....great food! Service still needs a bit of help. Our waiter brought a pitcher of water for the table this time, which was great...as we didn't have to keep asking for refills. Ordered Pad Thai, Panang curry and a cashew chicken dish. All were very good and had leftovers for lunch the next day. Great to see that Ban Chok Dee has opened up a new location in Maple Ridge, now we will not have to drive from Pitt Meadows to Langley for a good dose of thai. Arrived at 5:30, just as they were open, not busy at all...and noise level was down quite a bit from last visit when they were full.
Ehen we arrived we had no reservation listed for us. We were advised by the staff not to use Open Table.
Food was great but hostess didn't have our open table reservation. We had booked at least 6 hours in abdavce
Restaurant heat was almost unbearable, has to almost strip down to my skivvies to be comfortable. The hostess did not want to honour our Open Table reservations, until I insisted that they are signed up for Open Table and should comply. Our waitress was very unobtainable, I think she went on a 30 minute break as soon as we were seated. Food was brought to the table very sporadically 4 dishes over a 30 minute span, got the last of 4 dishes about 5 minutes after we finished the first 3. The restaurant was busy, but not that busy. I had to go find the water pitcher to fill our glasses twice. The food presentation was excellent, the food itself was good, not the best I've had, but definitely not the worst. Asked for hot on the spice scale and got a somewhat mild.
Always good here but this time they must have been very short in the kitchen. Food took close to an hour before it showed up. Again...always been great here so no need to dwell on this!
Ban Chok Dee has us coming back for more. In this neck of the woods really good dining options are few and far between but Ban Chok Dee has delivered an excellent food experience every time we come.
On this visit service was personable and efficient despite being a packed house. The curries were wonderful; everything came out hot and flavorful.
At the risk of sounding like I'm a fan ...I am.
This restaurant is one of my favorites. Best Thai food in Langley in a relaxed and intimate environment.
Pad Thai is always good here! Haven't tried anything else, but have enjoyed both takeout and dining in.
Restaurant was very busy but we were seated immediately with our Open Table reservation. Food was excellent as usual. Drinks are a little pricey, but we don't go for there for the drinks.
Excellent...every time. Friendly and prompt service.
I love this place, the food is amazing and the staff are a friendly bunch. We were at Ban Chok Dee for lunch. The lunch plates very very good; the only real negative was the slow service (took about 15 minutes to round someone up after receiving the bill) -- they don't seem to understand the concept of having to return to work after lunch.
Having said the above I highly recommend Ban Chok Dee.
Ambiance and service were fantastic. Food was delicious and presented beautifully. Penang curry was yummy as well as the papaya salad. Excellent caesar too.
This was our second visit to Ban Chok Dee -- the first time was for lunch and I would recommend them for that as well -- their lunch combos are very good and reasonably priced.
On this visit were had some out of town guest join us and they were equally impressed with Ban Chok Dee. The curries were fabulous and their Seafood Paradise was excellent as well. Service was attentive and friendly.
Authentic cusine, reasonable prices and located in the burbs ...a trifecta!
Being seated promptly is nice, being ignored for 25 minutes and then having to go to the front desk to request a server is never a good sign... The food was fine , the restaurant was a little too busy for their own good... Disappointing experience for what usually is great Thai food.
I was staying in the area on business, and found a listing for Ban Chok Dee, highly rated on TripAdvisor. I decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. I'm not the most adventurous with Asian food, but I do enjoy Pad Thai. I asked for "not too spicy" and they delivered a delicious meal, piping hot, reasonable wait, and very reasonably priced. Well worth checking out.
I had the opportunity to stop by this restaurant on a hot Saturday to have lunch with a client and sign some paperwork. My client had recommended this restaurant as he had visited many times with his family. The food was excellent, right from our appetizers of soup and crispy spring rolls, right to our main lunch. My wife and I had the Pad Thai (chicken & shrimp) and both were very very good. Who knew you could get authentic Thai cuisine in Langley!
The restaurant was clean, quite and the theme was clearly set by the interior decor. I typically would not have picked Thai food on a hot day, but I'm glad we did. I'd definitely visit this restaurant again.
Thanks!
I'm always on the lookout for good Thai food. Found this doing a search on-line as we live in Vancouver and were in Langley for a track meet. Service was good. Food was good. Food tweaked for Western palates, but very good nevertheless. They had items on the menu not found at other Lower Mainland Thai restaurants under the Street Food section. We really enjoyed the Hau-Mok salmon. And the Tom Yum Goong was excellent. Will definitely return when in Langley again.
Once again an excellent dinner. We always find this restaurant very enjoyable. Tonight the noise was slightly elevated as there was a large party, but we were seated in another area away from them.
So happy to find such great quality authentic Thai food in downtown Langley!
We stopped by for the first time on Mothers day dinner, they didnt seem to have any record of our Opentable reservation, they said that since its mothers day they were busy and not using the system. How am I supposed to know that, when Opentable reserves me a table and sends me a confirmation? Anyway, they were able to get us a table right away, guess our timing was good.
The food was delicious, but there was a wait because they were very busy which I can understand. We did point out to the waitress we had been waiting a while, she right away disagreed with the time we said we were waiting, but after checking on our order she found it to be accurate. Regardless, they more than made up for the wait with delicious food and myself and my family left very happy.
We've had thai at quite a few places all over Vancouver, and I can definitely say Ban Chok Dee was one of the best.
Will be a return customer!
Great experience restaraunt with nice decor. Food is above average for Thai. One of our favourite places to eat around town.
As a group we like to try different eateries to get together for each others birthdays. This place is great, food is always wonderful, staff is friendly and helpful on the cuisine choices. Have been here a few times with my husband as well and its always been an enjoyable experience.
This was our second visit. Reservations are a must. By the time we left at 7:00 PM people were lined out the door and they had temporarily taken the telephone off the hook, as pick-ups were backed up 40 minutes.
Going with another couple allowed us to experience more dishes than our first visit. We had Spicy Calamari, Golden Wontons, Sweet & Sour Stir Fry, Pad Thai, Pineapple Cashew Fried Rice, Seasonal Stir Fry, and complimentary sticky rice. We chose to have it mildly spiced to be able to savour the tastes. We were not disappointed at all. Everything was esthetically inviting and very tasty.
The service was very good and due to the servers culture, very respectful. We will definitely return to try other dishes.
Tables are too close together, difficult to get to tables and to get out, too many tables setup for the area, they also did not receive my Open Table reservation, even though I had email confirmation from Open Table.
Best time to go is for lunch, less crowds, take-out is also an option, do not dine in for dinner. Food was always excellent, whenever I have gone.
We've always enjoyed Ban Chok Dee. Their Thai Chow Mein is unlike anything I've tasted before. It's a dish we always order. The Red Curry is also excellent.
We really enjoyed all the food we ordered for dinner. Yum!! We were particularly impressed by the waiter. He must have noticed that our 10 year old son was looking a little down and he brought him (without being asked and without charge) a little appetizer of shrimp crackers and peanut sauce while we waited for our meals. Then later on, part-way through our meal he noticed that our son was quite flushed from the heat of the food and so brought him a glass of milk (again without being asked and without charge). His attentiveness was much appreciated! Besides this excellent service, the food was really very tasty and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Definitely going back soon!!
We went to Ban Chok Dee Thai for dinner on Sunday with some friends and it was amazing.
The food was outstanding and the presentation was beautiful.
Our group of 4 found ourselves in Langley on a Saturday night without a plan for dinner. We called a couple of the chain places (Keg & Earl's) and they had 1 hr waits. I opened up my handy Open Table app and found this restaurant less than 2km away. There was a reservation slot open for 7:30, just 10 mins out. I booked it and as we Walked in we noticed a few couples waiting, was a bit worried they wouldn't have checked their system or honour the booking, but they did! We were seated at 7:32. I was lauded the hero and we dined on much better fare than we'd have gotten at the cookie cutter dinner spots. Great service, good food!
The food was excellent. It was difficult to visit with friends, as the music was so loud when the dancer came out that we couldn't hear each other. He seemed to come out often.
Privately owned, nicely decorated and clean. Servers were very nice and although there was a bit of a language barrier, they were very eager to ensure everything was in order. The food was fantastic and the portions are generous. A nice spot to dine in Langley.
We've been to Ban Chok Dee many times and it's always delicious. We've tried a variety of dishes and our favorites are the Prik King, Red Thai Curry, Lettuce Wraps and Cashew Chicken. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They are usually quite busy so if you want to have a sit-down dinner it's best to make a reservation! Would definitely recommend to thai food lovers!
We introduced some of our family to this restaurant for the first time, and they enjoyed it as much as we did. Atmosphere is very nice and staff are very attentive.
