Wanted to visit Bambudda one last time before they closed their doors for good! Was definitely packed for their last Friday, but got to enjoy some amazing food & cocktails. It's a shame they won't be around anymore!

Our last hurrah at my favourite YVR haunt. With family and friends, we enjoyed a night filled with unique craft cocktails and loads of delicious delicacies. Crispy 5-spice duck confit, fresh light lobster spring rolls, comfy cozy truffled wild mushroom ramen. Am I ever going to miss the service, ambience, and food that made Bambudda one of the best dining experiences of the decade. Much gratitude to Ray and the team.

Inventive cocktail & food menu. We went on a Special Occasion (Valentine's Day), when they had a set menu (3 courses) with a few choices for the set price of $55. Although the food was good & the service was adequate on this busy night, I don't want to judge this restaurant on this one visit only. I would consider returning when the regular menu is available, or for cocktails only (delicious although a bit on the expensive side), which reflects the unique ingredients & mixes)

We were well looked after by our server and his recommendations were good. We are vegetarians and the food at Bambudda was good. Creative and tasty.

We had some trouble finding the place because it was hidden behind some scaffolding... but once we found it we were happy. The food was good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Found out the next day it was closing for good. Too bad.

We ate there as a Dine Out Vancouver experience. We are sad they are not staying in business as their landlord has other ideas.
The service was very friendly and prompt.
The food was a kind of Asian fusion and innovative. Both food quality and taste were amazing.
This goes for all three courses and for my wife and myself.
We hope Ray finds it possible to open a new place; we know running a restaurant is hard work.

Not impressed !
Went there for the dine out menu.. Looked good on paper but it ended up bellow average.
I was expecting great food but it was only OK. portions were small, as well as cocktails..
The entrance was being renovated and the small side room where they sat us looked like it didn't belong to a nice restaurant, so the ambiance was definitely sub-par.

We went for Dineout 2017 and the menu that their advertising on dineout is completely different than what they offer at the restaurant! We weren't happy with that, there's also construction going on outside it seems, not the greatest entry , overal was alright for one time, don't think I be going back though .

They have potential, but aren't quite there yet. I went during dine-out, they weren't busy yet the noise level was booming since there was a dance-off event going on below us. I wouldn't recommend this for family settings, but more for an exciting night out to drink.

My appetizer, lobster shrimp dumplings were misleading as they turned out to be deep fried fritters which left us all dissappointed. The main I got (duck confit) was mediocre, fried crispy skin and on the bland side. (The other mains I tried off my family and boyfriend tasted a lot better! However, they each had one thing they felt was 'off' about their dish such as the risotto being undercooked)

I got a chance to try each of the desserts and the chocolate trio was again.. mediocre. I enjoyed some aspects of it while also seeing room for improvement, especially the lava cake which was not lava at all. I was excited for the deep fried mantou with matcha and sesame condensed milk, which is a fool proof dish however they somehow watered down the condensed milk. The matcha dip was lacking, the black sesame was good. The buns were covered with a layer of salt on top which could have been a cool innovative touch if it had been lightly sprinkled, however, they lathered it on causing a much, much too salty experience.

The cocktails we had were average-good, but again nothing to blow you away.

Overall, I'd say Bambudda is a hit-or-miss and they have a lot to work on. For the price point and lack of quality and execution, it's not worth your money. If they can improve I'd love to go back and try as they have creative ideas but for now I doubt I will be returning.

We really enjoyed our experience. When we were seated the greeter wanted to seat us in "alternate seating". We were not interested in being seated in the dingy and rickety backroom:(. If there hadn't been proper seating our review and experience would have been drastically different! Keep this in mind when booking for dine out Vancouver-

Despite booking a reservation we still had to wait twenty minutes for a table. Which was ok because the bar whipped us up some fantastic cocktails. When we did get seated it was in a weird little room that stunk of cleaning products. The food did not disappoint. Well prepared with great flavours. We ordered off the dineout Vancouver menu. Our server sprayed windex on the table and wiped it off just before dessert arrived which was a bit off putting. Why not just wipe the table with a cloth so the rest of our meal isn't overpowered by the smell? Definitely not for a romantic night out as the restaurant was very loud. Geared toward twenty somethings. The room we were in was on the quieter side. Wouldn't bother coming back as the food wasn't that special. This is the kind of place to go get drunk with friends not have supper

I went with a friend during Dine Out on a Tuesday and made a reservation in advance. When we got there they didn't have a table ready (for a good 20mins) so we just sat at the bar. The bar tender was a super cool guy and gave me some cocktail tips. The food was interesting and at times I felt it was trying a little too hard. Some of the flavour combinations were unusual and one or two missed the mark for me. I felt it was a little overpriced since the portions are very small. Drinks were good but on the expensive end as well. I'm not sure I'd go back but was glad to have tried it out.

Our party of three had a very poor dining experience. We arrived on time for our 9:30 reservation and had to wait 20 minutes to be seated.

After another lengthy wait, our server arrived to take our drink order and we selected items from the dine out menu.

The 'small plates' came before our cocktails, and despite the menu encouraging us to share the busboy was confused that we had intended to share the portions of food.

While we had eaten the primary components of two of the dishes, we were still enjoying some of the vegetables, sauces and garnish on the plates when one of the servers took dishes twice without asking if we were finished with them or if they could be taken.

The entrees and desserts were brought in a timely manner, we felt the entree portions, noted on the menu as 'family style' were somewhat on the small side, especially if we are encouraged to share.

Our server was friendly, and apologized when we mentioned that our dishes had been taken without asking. Water glasses were always promptly refilled.

Went there with a friend after a recommendation, we realized it was dine out vancouver, so we ordered the menu and shared everything. It was DELICIOUS! Every single dish. And another highlight was the cocktail we ordered first: post opium. It was hands-down the best cocktail I've ever had... the only unfortunate thing was that they seem to have an"overflow" room that is quite dingy and lacks ambiance - didn't bother me as we made a Saturday night reservation two hour before, but I wouldn'5 want to be put there if I had reserved a few days prior...

All in all an awesome place that I can only recommend!

I went to Bambudda for Dine Out. We were seated at a table for four, except it was two round tables pushed together so immediately it was very awkward and uncomfortable to sit as a group, made even more annoying because they say it is a small plate sharing menu. I was very disappointed by the food. I ordered the lobster and shrimp dumplings. Their dumpling turned out to be a deep-fried breaded with an unappetizing filling. My main was the mushroom truffle Ramen. It was bland and tasteless. I ate only a few bites, yet the waitress did not ask how I enjoyed the meal and whisked my bowl away. Dessert was condensed milk and donuts, but again these were small squares of densely fried dough. The chocolate dipping sauce was good but the matcha dipping sauce was terrible. I'm top of all of this the bathroom is down three flights of stairs and I am disabled. There is a bathroom on the floor on the main floor however I was told it was out of order. Truly disappointing as I've always had excellent experiences during Dinout. Would not recommend this place and will never go there again.

This was part of Dine Out and seven of us went to Bambudda. We all enjoyed our food. Good flavours, great textures. The trio of chocolate dessert was outstanding. As the only vegetarian in the group, I was bit disappointed that both the veg appetizer and entree were carb based. Both tasted great but it was a lot of carbs. The restaurant, like many, is very loud which I don't enjoy. It was also a bit hard to find since there is construction going on outside. All that said, I would definitely come back.

The food was really good! The service fast BUT! The tables in the back of the restaurant are small cramped and not appropriate for seating people! Right next to kitchen!!!NoStarted at a wall because they squished 3 people into a table of 2!!!! We had prebooked a table and then were taken to the very back of the restaurant!!!

Tried Bambuddah for Dine Out Vancouver. I had the Lobster Dumplings, Duck, and Trio Chocolate Plate.

The Lobster Dumplings for some reason what I was expecting, wasn't thinking they would be fried for some reason (I guess I was thinking more of a wonton) but it was still delicious.

Duck was amazing, probably the best duck I've had for a while. It wasn't greasy compared to what you'll get at other Chinese places. It was pretty decently portioned.

The Trio chocolate desert though was AMAZING. It looked beautiful, and felt like three different deserts. At first I was worried if it'll be enough, but it turned out to be just right.

The servers were amazing, they kept refilling the glass but minimize interruption to natural conversations I was having with my guest.

Overall it was one of the better Dine Out places I had in 2017.

A girlfriend and I tried Bambudda for the first time due to location near the Dec 1 Yuel Duel Choir singing. Chinese food with various fusion influences. The two of us had 3 small plates or sides and a brilliant dessert that our server described as little doughnuts which are a little salty complemented by sweet sauces - we loved it. Also delicious lobster and shrimp that were shaped like spring rolls but instead has a light panko-like crumb finish, very satisfying, BBQ pork slices w steamed buns on the side and a gravy like sauce, both delicious, and noodles with sesame oil and some mysterious subtle spicy bit. Gracious and informative server. A bit loud as a group party in the front but did not interfere with our conversation at a nice table in rear of restaurant. Well recommended.

This was my first time dining at Bambudda and I really enjoyed it! The menu was unique with a lot of different flavors in their dishes.

There was an event that night so the restaurant was a lot more vibrant than I feel it usually is.

Would recommend to friends and will dine again soon!

Went here for my 28th birthday and had a great time, staff was pleasant, atmosphere was great, they accommodated 13 people out in their general seating section which was nice (I didn't want to be closed off in the private room). Food and drinks were amazing! Would definitely recommend.

We went for drinks here after an evening out celebrating a friend's birthday. The cocktails were good, but not anything mind blowing - lots of other restaurants out there top the ones we had here. We didn't have food this time around but have been before - it was okay...again nothing to rave about. I made a reservation weeks before we went, and somehow we were still stuck in a back corner by the kitchen window. The ambiance was poor back there and the seats were awkward - a sort of crescent shape with two round tables - awkward for 4 people to sit around. The service was fine. Unfortunately not that please and likely won't be my first choice next time we head out.

My husband and I went there for dinner and were thourouly disappointed. Our waitress was very sweet but completely unknowledgable about the menu and its offerings. When asked about certain dishes she did not know exactly what they were and did not make an effort to go find out the answers to our questions. There was nothing special about the food at all. It seemed like fast food that was preseted nicely. Our whole experience seemed awkward and we left there shaking our heads agreeing never to go back.
