Bamboo 52 shows that putting sushi together with a club-like atmosphere with signature cocktails and a patio goes over quite well in New York City. Its a popular nightlife spot for friends to meet up because having light snacks is perfect then and sushi fits the bill.
Bamboo 52 has a decent sized menu with sushi, signature rolls, classic hand rolls, samurai boats and even a few entres for when a heavier meal is needed. A specialty at Bamboo 52 are the love boats, including one with 18 assorted sashimi pieces and another with 12 assorted sushi. Be sure to check out the half-priced choices during happy hour.
The sushi here is good for the price. It's good quality, but not trying to be super fancy. Not only that, we did the Groupon deal and got a lot of food (and saki) for the money and everything we had was good. We especially like the dessert, which was the Mochi ice cream. The service was very fast and friendly. Table space was a little tight, but typical for the neighborhood. My partner and I would go back.
Poor quality sushi. Salad was old.
Great find. excellent service food was good. A hidden gem
Best happy hour in all of Hells Kitchen, not to mention their incredible sushi rolls! Will definitely visit again!
Restaurant seems focused on their Happy Hour, which seems to run all day. The sushi was very good, but the loud music, uncomfortable seating and haphazard service more than offset the positives.
Stopped in by chance. Great little find. Big bar. Nice dinning area. Has outdoor patio in the back. There is a private area for parties. Nice menu. Specials were good. Nice presentation and service.
Great little shushi place. Has an outdoor patio in the back. The ambiance was a great touch for dinning at night. The menu was simple yet had some different combinations and creations. The service and presentation was cool. The manager checked on us to ensure we had a good experience. Menu was reasonable priced. The bar was pretty big and fully stocked. The smaller shushi bar is great for quick eats. Check it out if you get s chance.
We had early reservations and the restaurant was mostly empty. The loud techno-disco music was being played so high that conversations were impossible. We ended up leaving before we ever ordered food.
The sushi is always good and the servers very nice and friendly.
New staff being trained are spot-on.
The sushi is always good.
Since it's a bit off of Broadway, it doesn't feel as touristy as other Times Square restaurants. Sushi is good and plentiful. Service, was quick, but we were one of the few people in the restaurant. Overall, a good experience.
I have shied away from Sushi since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease due to hidden ingredients in sauces, etc. but I thoroughly enjoyed Bamboo 52. Sushi chefs can only influence the taste of a few things, rice being one and the rice here is amazing. Server knew what I needed to avoid and had chef prepare dishes I could eat. I only wished they had a bottle of gluten free soy sauce.
I wish I had more amazing things to say about this place, but it was average. I also went on new years day evening and we sat where it was cold and blah blah sob story. In the end, the food was decent and worth trying.
Great food as always! Thank you!
very east going place good place to fuel up before or after theater. given exceptionally long happy hour a good place to get a pop or two
The host/waiter was downright hostile. What is a surly person doing in a service job?? We couldn't wait to get out of there. Rude, rude, rude.
VERY WELL DONE. EXCELLENT FOOD. FRESH SUSHI AND WELL EXECUTED AND PRESENTED.
Always good! Fresh seafood, great service and excellent bar choices.
Small storefront restaurant with NO atmosphere. Half the seats were small, cushioned ottomans without any backs which were extremely uncomfortable. The sushi was mediocre. I would never go back.
Greer service and nice people
Friendly staff and nice cocktail. But meal started with soggy tempura (which is pretty unforgivable for a Japanese-style restaurant). Sushi rolls thereafter did not sing with freshness.
Went to this place because it was close to the theater we were going to, looking for a bit of good sushi, did not find that here! It tasted like it had been sitting on a shelf for a week.
Very nice place. I took my 13 yr old daughter her based on Yelp/Open Table user reviews and we were not disappointed. Good was excellent and fresh and the service was fast and attentive.
The sushi at Bamboo 52 is always good. If you are looking for a quiet spot, this isn't it. They have great sushi, service and a nice selection of cocktails, sake, beer, and wine. We keep coming back and haven't had a bad meal or bad service yet.
The service is always good and the sushi is delicious. We love coming back here... and we will!
Pleasant atmosphere and wonderful wait staff. I wouldn't recommend this place for sushi ever! Completely unappetizing and just a tremendous disappointment!
I've always been here for a drink and a quick bite before/after a show, and it' has always been reliable for that.
Service depends largely in the individual server, in my experience. This past time the waiter was excellent. Previous times I haven't always been that lucky.
My co-worker and I have eaten at Bamboo a couple of times for lunch, and I must say every time we go there we feel welcomed. I also think it's a great idea to have a FF card for lunch, eat there 10 times and get your 11 lunch free ! Ray the server/bartender/waiter is amazing, always very helpful and accommodating !! Service is fast, which is great, especially if one is on their lunch hour. The food is fair at best, I have definitely eaten better sushi/teriyaki but I go there for the value and speedy service, albeit the food is just ok.
Reasonably priced high quality sushi served in a pleasant setting. Not too loud and perfect for a date or girls night out.
I found this place walking around the neighborhood. I have never been here after work hours, so am unable to give feedback as to their after-hours crowd. The lunch special is always great and affordable. I found the waiter to be very accommodating and ready to offer up suggestions on food and best value. I would definitely go back..
Was an interesting menu and had big hopes for some of the food to try. It was ok, but not that exciting.
The food was great at this restaurant. Sushi was fresh. The servers were courteous.
Great pre-theater spot with a great happy hour. Sushi portions are quite big.
I was pleasantly surprised by the deco as from the outside you would never know how spacious the place is, we took a friend for his birthday and the food was great, the staff friendly and the prices were affordable. I will visit again on my next trip to new york. we even arrive early before the restaurant was open and we were seated and offered drinks.
Incredible service, very good sushi. I'll be back!
This place had 2 other people dining when we were there for lunch. This is hard to understand because the food was great. Very fresh and delish. We had bento boxes and they were great. They have a really great lunch special which includes free saki and dessert. I had the best green tea I've ever had. Maybe because it was so freezing out. The decor was modern. Good find!
The food was terrible, and I had booked it to try because it was a 1000 point table, but they only credited me with 100 points, and I am extremely angry about that
This is the second time we dined here. The first time we had a good experience so we recommended it to a friend joining us from out of town. I have to say we were very disappointed. While the server was very nice and likely new, we had to ask on numerous occasions to have our drink orders delivered. And while the manager was also kind. The fact that our order was in correct and had to be redone, plus we still waited for drinks, nothing was done to remedy the situation except make us wait for things to be redelivered...much later.
fun atmosphere, great service and good food, we got the chef's special of sashimi and the dragon roll and it was great
The experience it was very good by the service and the beer list. The sushi it self was fair, nothing special. The ambiance is for groups is not romantic. I like the experience and the plate decoration.
Food was good and waitstaff very pleasant but not professional. Drinks removed before they were finished and one order came spicy (diner can't eat spicy and there was no mention of the spicy sauce in the menu) so it was sent back. We all finished eating before her new order arrived. We'd definitely go back but it's no fine dining.
