About Permanently Closed - Bamboo 52
This restaurant is permanently closed.
Bamboo 52 shows that putting sushi together with a club-like atmosphere with signature cocktails and a patio goes over quite well in New York City. Its a popular nightlife spot for friends to meet up because having light snacks is perfect then and sushi fits the bill.
Bamboo 52 has a decent sized menu with sushi, signature rolls, classic hand rolls, samurai boats and even a few entres for when a heavier meal is needed. A specialty at Bamboo 52 are the love boats, including one with 18 assorted sashimi pieces and another with 12 assorted sushi. Be sure to check out the half-priced choices during happy hour.

Bamboo 52 - Permanently Closed Ratings and Reviews
The sushi here is good for the price. It's good quality, but not trying to be super fancy. Not only that, we did the Groupon deal and got a lot of food (and saki) for the money and everything we had was good. We especially like the dessert, which was the Mochi ice cream. The service was very fast and friendly. Table space was a little tight, but typical for the neighborhood. My partner and I would go back.
Great little shushi place. Has an outdoor patio in the back. The ambiance was a great touch for dinning at night. The menu was simple yet had some different combinations and creations. The service and presentation was cool. The manager checked on us to ensure we had a good experience. Menu was reasonable priced. The bar was pretty big and fully stocked. The smaller shushi bar is great for quick eats. Check it out if you get s chance.
I have shied away from Sushi since being diagnosed with Celiac Disease due to hidden ingredients in sauces, etc. but I thoroughly enjoyed Bamboo 52. Sushi chefs can only influence the taste of a few things, rice being one and the rice here is amazing. Server knew what I needed to avoid and had chef prepare dishes I could eat. I only wished they had a bottle of gluten free soy sauce.
I've always been here for a drink and a quick bite before/after a show, and it' has always been reliable for that.
Service depends largely in the individual server, in my experience. This past time the waiter was excellent. Previous times I haven't always been that lucky.
My co-worker and I have eaten at Bamboo a couple of times for lunch, and I must say every time we go there we feel welcomed. I also think it's a great idea to have a FF card for lunch, eat there 10 times and get your 11 lunch free ! Ray the server/bartender/waiter is amazing, always very helpful and accommodating !! Service is fast, which is great, especially if one is on their lunch hour. The food is fair at best, I have definitely eaten better sushi/teriyaki but I go there for the value and speedy service, albeit the food is just ok.
I found this place walking around the neighborhood. I have never been here after work hours, so am unable to give feedback as to their after-hours crowd. The lunch special is always great and affordable. I found the waiter to be very accommodating and ready to offer up suggestions on food and best value. I would definitely go back..
I was pleasantly surprised by the deco as from the outside you would never know how spacious the place is, we took a friend for his birthday and the food was great, the staff friendly and the prices were affordable. I will visit again on my next trip to new york. we even arrive early before the restaurant was open and we were seated and offered drinks.
This place had 2 other people dining when we were there for lunch. This is hard to understand because the food was great. Very fresh and delish. We had bento boxes and they were great. They have a really great lunch special which includes free saki and dessert. I had the best green tea I've ever had. Maybe because it was so freezing out. The decor was modern. Good find!
This is the second time we dined here. The first time we had a good experience so we recommended it to a friend joining us from out of town. I have to say we were very disappointed. While the server was very nice and likely new, we had to ask on numerous occasions to have our drink orders delivered. And while the manager was also kind. The fact that our order was in correct and had to be redone, plus we still waited for drinks, nothing was done to remedy the situation except make us wait for things to be redelivered...much later.
Food was good and waitstaff very pleasant but not professional. Drinks removed before they were finished and one order came spicy (diner can't eat spicy and there was no mention of the spicy sauce in the menu) so it was sent back. We all finished eating before her new order arrived. We'd definitely go back but it's no fine dining.
