Bambino's Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Even though parking in this area is vey difficult, it was worth the search and walk. We had a delicious meal served by a very friendly and helpful waitress who made the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Her high recommendation of the specially priced chianti was appreciated enough that we went for a 2nd bottle. We all enjoyed a very pleasant dining experience.
The food was great, and the service person was very nice, but even though our larger group had reservations, our meal was not served until almost an hour after our arrival. If there was some way to improve the timing of the food delivery, we'd gladly recommend the place to others.
It was New years Eve and we were running late as were the couple we were to meet there. I called and was treated most graciously on the phone, and the same graciousness applied upon our arrival and throughout our meal.
The food was uniformly enjoyed by all members of our party.
It was the perf3ect place for dinner with friends on New Years Eve.
Early Sunday dinner. Parking difficult. Seated right away, not crowded, therefore not very noisy which was great! Service was very good. Appetizer and entree portions are very good. Veal scallopini was not as good as I would expect and came out not very hot. The other entree (chicken parmigiana) was also not very hot. So they comp'ed us a piece of carrot cake dessert -- nice of them to do. Would return and try something else. They have a Tuesday, 3-course $14.95 dinner which sounds very reasonable; might be only for December.
Got right in with a reservation. They brought free mini scones to snack on - nice. Half price mimosa refills, nice. My omlet was a little bland but the others liked their meals. I'd probably return and try something different. Everything on the menu looked good.
It was my mother's birthday and we were a party of 17 and 5 were children. Service and food were just great. Started with calamari (the best I've had in the city) and margarita pizza, nice and easy to eat appetizers. Then I ordered 4 salads and we ate them family style, very good. Each person ordered their own entrees with the red snapper and mushroom ravioli being the must ordered. I tasted my wife's fish and it was wonderful. I had the mushroom ravioli special and it took me back to Italy, just the right balance and a touch of truffle oil. They have a great wine list and reasonable. Desserts were to die for. I have eaten here several time with this being my first with such a large group. Bambino's made us all feel at home.
Celebrated husbands birthday: it's always great Italian food here. Salads are interesting, large, always changing. The special "Lasagna Florentine" is the best vegetarian lasagna ever! Had a great dinner here - you can't go wrong! The manager and wait staff are a delight.
My first visit to Bambino was pleasurable, good food, service, etc. Good enough to come back. Second visit, unfortunately, disappointing. No clams for the linguini, dishes overly spiced--and though they did have a nice hunk of filet minon, the first time they overcooked it.
Every time I go to Bambino's the food exceeds the last visit. If I were a weekly visitor, I would expect the kind of service I get, but I am not there enough for them to recognize me, and they still treat me like family. This visit, I got the pasta carbonara, and it was fabulous! My 2 friends really liked it as well.
Was excited to find an Italian restaurant reasonably close by. Thought the food was very mediocre especially the pasta dishes. The special pizza was good but seemed to be the only dish we got with fresh local ingredients (everything was very bland, especially the tomato dishes)
I celebrated my 45th birthday here with a party of ten. We all had a wonderful time. We arrived about 5 minutes early for our reservation to learn that another large party had poached our table. They saw the setup and claimed it was for them, who does that!?? The greeter realized what had happened and rather than make excuses he immediately got the staff together to quickly arranged another configuration of tables for ten (complete with high chair) for our party. The service was great and the waiters brought extra coloring book pages and fashioned a paper hat for the 3 year old to her delight. The food was plentiful and flavorful and the servers helped us pick out the best items for our large party to share. I will definitely go back.
We come from the East Bay to this specific Italian place for fresh food prep, generous portions, and friendly informative service. It is well worth the city drive and limited parking just for the experience and outstanding food. We have ordered several different menu items and every one has been special and a epicurean delight.
It was just a lovely evening at Bambino's. Food was delicious and generous portions. I just loved the Linguine with Manila clams in white wine sauce. The special salad with peas, radishes, and edamame was perfection. A bottle of wine from the specials sheet was wonderful and a great value. Finish with goat cheese cheese cake with balsamic strawberries, what an ingenious combination that worked. I would most definitely recommend Bambino's.
Service was so poor it detracted from the overall experience quite a bit. It took about 20 minutes for the server to give us any attention from when we first sat down. Also another 20 minutes to get the check. The restaurant wasn't even busy. The food was good but not sure it's worth putting up with that service.
we informed them at our reservation time that our party would be late . they were friendly and accommodating.then we arrived with a very tired and active little boy and again , they were very accommodating and understanding when he was noisy and spilling foodstuff etc. and the food was excellent, timely and delicious. the fruit salad- as well as other dishes were generous in size. The bread and scones served with many of the dishes were warm, fresh, and delicious... all of the staff was friendly,helpful- the host , the server and the bartender. great experience on what was a stressful and hurried day. great neighborhood dining establishment with a large and varied menu. i wanted to try everything!!
My three lunch dates liked their choices (steak sandwiches & a pasta dish). I on the other hand was completely disappointed in my dish which was described as Ricotta Gnocchi. I chose it in hopes that I'd have found a site closer to our home than Poggio's in Sausalito. Very disappointing: no particular seasonings, heavy & the size of Gnocchi on steroids! Ah well, at least Poggio's is closer than San Gimignano!
We come here often and enjoy their 'limited time' specials. We tried the Bistecca hangar steak rubbed with chili and garlic fries. Delicious! Bambino's continues to offer consistently great, wholesome food with excellent service.
They accommodate special requests.
Tried it for dinner on a Saturday evening . Nothing horrible to report , food was average . I felt it was overpriced for what you are getting .Should have paid attention to their reviews , seems most of their higher rating reviews were for the brunch service they offer....
The food was good... not just pretty good... but solidly in the "good" category. The wine prices really got me. I'm not sure what they retail for, but the list felt sort of pricy in terms of overall choices. I think that restaurants like Flour+Water and Loconda strike a better balance between the wine list and prices. I'm not saying that each bottle was necessarily over-priced, but the whole list needs to be better edited to reflect the market I think. I would have gladly drank more and felt better about the bill if it felt more reasonable.
We had a lovely brunch at Bambino's. They started us off with a plate of tiny scones that were delish. I ordered the Eggs Salmone - a take on Eggs Benedict and it was good. My fellow brunchers each got a personalized omlet and were happy with their choices. The service was friendly and accommodating. I would go back.
The brunch was excellent. The brunch menu is probably the best I have ever seen. We all thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Only issue is parking so allow some time to find a parking place and then be prepared to walk a few blocks. But the walk is worth the effort.
Service was a standout - friendly, welcoming and professional. In general, each course provided us with large portions of well cooked food and wine specials that were irresistible (low prices for interesting bottles of a variety of unusual wines that were very impressive). The butter lettuce salad was wonderful (even the small size was large), the roasted garlic & brie were delicious (huge portion - great to share). We enjoyed taglietelle nero (light sauce with seafood), pasta with lamb sugo (wonderful sauce and general amounts of lamb). After finishing dinner, we ended by sharing 3 delightful truffles to be eaten in a proper order accompanied by the last of our red wine (great match!). This is a wonderful place! We will be back.
Bambino's so far exceeded our expectations I don't even know where to begin -- three generations of our family sat down to one of the best brunches we've ever had, served by a wonderful staff. Every dish was terrific, the bellini specials were delicious, and we will be back again soon!
We were a party of 8 and it was just a perfect evening. Service, food, wine and desserts were just wonderful. Our waiter never rushed us but was there taking excellent care of all the details. Everyone just raved about the food. We had appetizers, salads, entrees and desserts and all were excellent. And a great wine list, we all love our wine.
