Entire staff was great Drinks- Great and that was it
food was unattractive, over salted and simply poorly executed
Our served helped me with my Plant Based / Whole Food diet. I cheated and had some of your bleu cheese potato chips and desert.
I expected better food quality. The $38 scallops reminded me of something you would get at Red Lobster. SLC has several gourmet options to satisfy a foodie's taste buds I won't be going back.
Usually very good service, but this time we had to wait 50 minutes for our meal. As we sat waiting, no one ever said it would take a little longer than usual, and other customers who came in after us were getting their meals. I would still recommend Bambara because it is a very good restaurant and this was the first time out of several outings there that we had a problem.
The price is such that unless you’re rolling in it, is a “special occasion” only dining experience.
The appetizer of the Poke was above average, but not the most amazing thing I’ve ever had.
My wife had the Maine Scallops after reading the reviews, and they lived up to the hype, and I tried the Salmon, which while above par, still suffers from the same thing most seafood eaten inland does. Just not quite fresh enough.
The breads were delicious, and the Coconut Stout on Tap from The Vault was probably the highlight of dining portion of the evening.
Jake was attentive and friendly, and helped get us out in plenty of time for our show at the Eccles that night.
Overall, a great experience.
Every year in June, I come to town for a convention. Three years ago I found Bambara and have made sure I stopped in at least one during my week long stay. The food is always out of this world! The silky corn bisque is like nothing I’ve ever tasted. The filet is always prepared perfectly. Dessert doesn’t seem to be their forte, but I’m usually stuffed by then anyway. Last night, I had the worst service I have experienced in three years. The waiter didn’t care to give any recommendations or even ask if we had ever been in, which my travel partner had not. He simply said, “We don’t have any specials tonight so just let me know if you have questions. Everything put on the table was flung, to the point the forks on the chocolate torte were caught by my boyfriend before they could clang to the table. Drinks were left empty and the waiter seemed completely put out when asked to refill them.
Bambara is our go to restaurant for special occasions. It should be even more often. My wife is vegan so we always request a 'consult'. She is very flexible and let's the chef make a recommendation. She has never been disappointed (no small feat). This visit included hickory smoked and beer battered tempura fried mushrooms. They were delicious! I recommend them bighly.
The food here was amazing! I was skeptical about the pricing and serving sizes but I made an incorrect judgment. I went home full and satisfied and not overstuffed. The food was healthy and my taste buds were not disappointed. The server was knowledgeable, friendly and informative.
Just perfect! I had 11 business meetings there this week; breakfast, lunch and supper! Will miss it!! The food is superb! The portions are perfect. Not too big!! The menu is varied! The bisque soup is just amazing! Recommended by the waiter; just WOW!
Nice room. Friendly staff. Slow service and had to remind waiter to fill water glass. Blue cheese chips were disappointing. Mains were plentiful but salty. Best course was wedge salad.
Food over seasoned
Another special day, another special meal! We took our daughter out to celebrate the end of her 3rd at medical school. Bambara did not disappoint. The menu items are all wonderfully crafted to blend the perfect melange of flavors. If you are looking for something delicious with an unique twist, this is the place for you. Just as tasty as the food items are the exquisitely crafted cocktails. The wait staff was attentive and friendly.
Fantastic service. True professionals. Inventive menu and fantastic ambiance.
We ate early, and there was absolutely no wait. Everything was lovely
It was Okay.. The Nachos App was the best item followed by the Cheesecake then the main meal. I had the steak. 6/10 is my rating
Great food wonderful atmosphere. Attentive service
Great Mother's Day Brunch! Not to crowded and superb food.
Overall, a very nice experience and high quality food. I did order medium rare on the steak and it came out rare though. Was still quite good, just needed to be cooked a bit more.
Food seemed bland.
Decided to try Bambara for brunch before heading over to the Eccles Theater. The waitress was phenomenal as was the food. It is a bit pricey, especially if you have drinks but for the occasional special event it is a very nice indulgence.
Excellent Service and Food, I felt welcomed and taken care of and My server gave creat recommendations. Would definelty come again
We love the interesting food at this restaurant plus the service was top notch. We need to go more often!
The bacon and mushroom roast that I had for Sunday brunch was fantaatic. The experience and food were worth downtown driving and parking, which I typically go out of my way to avoid.
Restaurant was just ok. Service was the main reason. Never got a bread basket...we saw other tables get one. They brought out the main course while the appitizer plates were still on the table so the waiter had to juggle switching them. OK experience...just could be better.
Friendly staff, excellent service. Food offerings are fresh and unique. Daily lunch specials are a good deal - soup or salad, entree and cookie for $16.
very creative menu and food was deliousous
nice to have the valet parking
Lovely attention to detail Fabulous experience all around!
Excellent food and excellent service. Very accommodating to our schedule.
Perfect pre-Hamilton dinner spot! Make sure to start with the yellowfin tuna poke. The pumpkin gnocchi dish was delicious as was the chicken with bacon & blue mashed potatoes. We didn't have time for dessert, but will be back for the pistachio pot au creme!
Delicious food! I didn’t realize the lunch menu didn’t start until 2. I should have thought to check. The hollandaise sauce on their eggs benedict was divine!
Perfect for an end of day meeting!!
Service was really slow and they had a couple of big groups in and so it was really slow barely got food in an hour and barely made theatre table that was seated right after us didn't even get served left for theatre without their meal and they just had salads... not a super great experience. when food got there it was good, but I think they over-booked for what they could handle.
We had reservations and explained that we had tickets to Hamilton. We were seated much later than our reservation. Service started out efficiently however we waited a very long time for our entrees. We ended up having only 10minutes to inhale our entrees. Very disappointing since we planned the timing of our reservation in anticipation of our theater tickets.
LOVE Bambara!. The chips are fabulous, and every meal at our table was excellent. The service was superb and they are sensitive to timing for our having theater tickets. I recommend this place for a special occasion as it is on the higher priced side but you will not regret it!!
Service was good. The meal was SOOOOOO salty. Every item we had was over-salted - and we're not sensitive. I wanted this to be a really special dining experience for the occasion we were celebrating and was disappointed.
Crit is awesome and is always attentive to our needs when we come in. Our table is always ready prior to us sitting down. He remembers I drink water with no ice, and I prefer butter with my bread and hummus, and that Julie loves creme brûlée (which she is not happy it is off the menu). I have yet to have such service as he provides anywhere else.
Crit, we love you!!!
Julie and Mary
P.S. He needs a HUGE raise. 😁
How have we not known about this restaurant before!? I like to think that I am a foodie, and that I know about all the good places around my home town. We tried this place, and honestly, it was one of the best restaurants in Utah, hands down. Amazing food, amazing service, and worth every penny and more!
This meal was for executives from our out of state Corp. office. The party was very pleased with the restaurant and service. We will recommend this restaurant for future executives.
Excellent dining experience!!!!
I frequent Salt Lake City for work and I’m always on the lookout for new restaurants.
Excellent meal, cocktails, and dessert.
My server, Collin, was very helpful (as I have a dairy allergy) and accommodating.
I will definitely return to this establishment!!!
