Lovely attention to detail Fabulous experience all around!
Delicious food! I didn’t realize the lunch menu didn’t start until 2. I should have thought to check. The hollandaise sauce on their eggs benedict was divine!
Perfect for an end of day meeting!!
Service was really slow and they had a couple of big groups in and so it was really slow barely got food in an hour and barely made theatre table that was seated right after us didn't even get served left for theatre without their meal and they just had salads... not a super great experience. when food got there it was good, but I think they over-booked for what they could handle.
We had reservations and explained that we had tickets to Hamilton. We were seated much later than our reservation. Service started out efficiently however we waited a very long time for our entrees. We ended up having only 10minutes to inhale our entrees. Very disappointing since we planned the timing of our reservation in anticipation of our theater tickets.
LOVE Bambara!. The chips are fabulous, and every meal at our table was excellent. The service was superb and they are sensitive to timing for our having theater tickets. I recommend this place for a special occasion as it is on the higher priced side but you will not regret it!!
Service was good. The meal was SOOOOOO salty. Every item we had was over-salted - and we're not sensitive. I wanted this to be a really special dining experience for the occasion we were celebrating and was disappointed.
Crit is awesome and is always attentive to our needs when we come in. Our table is always ready prior to us sitting down. He remembers I drink water with no ice, and I prefer butter with my bread and hummus, and that Julie loves creme brûlée (which she is not happy it is off the menu). I have yet to have such service as he provides anywhere else.
Crit, we love you!!!
Julie and Mary
P.S. He needs a HUGE raise. 😁
How have we not known about this restaurant before!? I like to think that I am a foodie, and that I know about all the good places around my home town. We tried this place, and honestly, it was one of the best restaurants in Utah, hands down. Amazing food, amazing service, and worth every penny and more!
This meal was for executives from our out of state Corp. office. The party was very pleased with the restaurant and service. We will recommend this restaurant for future executives.
Excellent dining experience!!!!
I frequent Salt Lake City for work and I’m always on the lookout for new restaurants.
Excellent meal, cocktails, and dessert.
My server, Collin, was very helpful (as I have a dairy allergy) and accommodating.
I will definitely return to this establishment!!!
Nice restaurant. We were in town on business/pleasure. My husband had breakfast twice and enjoyed it both times. I had the power lunch one day. Loved the trout tacos and carrot coconut soup. Cookie could have been better. We had dinner one night and both enjoyed our meal. I had the scallops. There were only 4 and they were not particularly large. There was nothing green on the plate. My husband enjoyed his lamb chops. We were too full for desert, having eaten a large lunch rather late in the day. The next morning we had the duck confit hash with fried eggs. It was truly outstanding. In order to get toast, I had to ask for it. They were very nice and comped it, but shouldn’t a few pieces of toast be included with any breakfast? The house made jam was good. Overall, nice restaurant but it is clear they are hoping to amp up the bill by not including any sides. Salads are additional, also. This place is not cheap. I refused to play their game
Delicious and lovely ambiance. So glad I found this on open table in a recent trip to Salt Lake City. The decor was beautiful and interesting and the staff were wonderful. I would go there again in a second!
Barbara will always be my go to for phenomenal food. The service is always top notch, and the food is always beautiful and tastes even better than it looks. Staff always friendly and knowledgeable about allergies.
I’m VIP and they treated me like I was a king of all kings !!!
We could not have enjoyed ourselves more. The wait staff was exceedingly friendly and attentive. The food was heavenly. Favorites included the corn bisque, pumpkin gnocchi, striped bass and pistachio pot au creme. We will definitely be back.
We were visiting SLC and were told to try Bambara for Easter brunch - I must say we were impressed. We traditionally do Easter brunch (which is fantastic) at a high end hotel in our home state and this brunch at Bambara definitely is comparable and we both said it may be better than our normal!! Will be back!
Terrific buffet, with great variety and everything very tasty.
We were very impressed with the menu. There were so many great options that we had a difficult time choosing what to order. The bone marrow appetizer was amazing. The service was great. It was an overall great experience.
Great location and ambience, attentive service, and excellent food. Biggest downside was the prices, especially for drinks (glass of wine ~$15!)
The quality if the ingredients and the preparation of their food is exceptional. I have enjoyed several breakfasts this week. I highly recommend Bambara.
I've been there at least three times - it seems there is always something that is not just right. Last time it was the potatoes, this time my colleague's steak was not cooked to the requested temp. I will say the signature soup was great and the scallops were nice. Our waiter was tad too animated for me but he was attentive until after we paid the check and as we sat there talking with empty water glasses no one observed until the end. So overall, the restaurant has great potential and the locals all rave about it, but I just haven't had that experience yet.
Food is high end. Crafted cocktails were also upper shelf quality. Kind of noisy and buzzing if you like that vibe.
We've been to this restaurant many times. It never disappoints. Our server Jesse was outstanding. The chicken and beef filet were both excellent. Wine prices are really high though.
We almost always eat at Bambara when we attend events at Capitol Theatre and The Eccles Theatre. We love the food and the atmosphere. We have never had an issue with our timing for events. This time however our server was very late in getting our food delivered. Tables around us who arrived after us got their food sooner. Our waiter never apologized and even said that we were close and wouldn't be late. There was no time for even a thought of dessert. It was a disappointing part of the evening.
I really liked the decor, very sophisticated . They had very few crafted cocktails on their menu. I always love trying new and different drinks. I ordered a glass of wine which the waiter forgot, had to remind him. He did remember my husband's beer. The bread came with a hummus spread which was a nice touch but the bread itself had very little flavor. My personal bellwether of a fine meal is to start with great tasting bread. The salad was fine and the lamb chops tasty. My husband liked the bass. We are foodies and when we go to a new city we always look for restaurants that either source as much of their food as possible locally and or take great pride in putting out creative super attention-to-detail meals.
Service was attentive, as one would expect at a hotel restaurant. The food was good but not great. The risotto was flat, but the salad was excellent. The chocolate tart dessert was superb.
We enjoyed our late lunch on a Monday. The power lunch special was good-the salad and dressing were delicious-but the cookies were so sweet we couldn’t eat them. Beer list was short but good. Server was wonderfully pleasant and food came out quickly but not too quickly.
convenient and good food, close to theater area, prompt friendly service, nice french bistro style , usually go once each visit to SLC
Surfaces were clean; classy yet casual ambience; Service was attentive and courteous; Food was very well presented and excellent. Overall, it was a very good experience, if a little expensive.
Love Bambara! Great food, great service. Super cool environment. I love the wide open kitchen.
Great! Perfect spot for post opera drinks and dinner. Loved it!
We had pre-opera reservation and were on time. However, it seems that the kitchen was not able to handle the crowd. There was a table of 16 nearby. Our appetizers and entrees came out in a timely fashion. Our plates had been cleared by 7 and we were only a cross the stree from the theatre. Thus, we ordered a simple dessert. It did not arrive until 7:22, despite our asking several time about its whereabouts. We even paid the check before dessert came to save time. Alas, we gulped down the dessert and ran for the door. I don’t think this should happen given all,of the circumstances.
After reading several raving reviews we decided to make this our anniversary dinner celebration. We were blown away! Delicious is an understatement! The sea bass was the best I have ever tasted. Would highly recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for a sophisticated meal with old world charm and ambience. Simply amazing
The food was really very good and the ambiance is pleasant. Enough of a buzz without being loud.
That said, it's pricey. I personally resent paying $40+ for an entree.
Just went for drinks and appys. Mushrooms had a chemical taste and were tough, difficult to cut.
Beet salad was ok but small.
Wine was a bit pricey.
Service was excellent.
Love to have a memorable meal at Bambara before attending the opera. Start out with the decadent blue cheese potato chips, and then choose from a nice variety of appetizers, salads and entrees.
I've had the privilege to eat at some really amazing restaurants in the cities we'd all associate with great food: NYC, LA, NoLa, Paris, etc. I, snobbishly, didn't think SLC had anything to offer. WRONG. Bambara's food is both creative and technically precise, and the service is impeccable without being pretentious. Highest marks.
