Our reservations were for 6:30 and we had a theater engagement at 8:00 PM. I told our waitress that we had to be to the theater at 8:00. It took her 20 minutes to bring my first drink and 15 to bring my second. She put our order in late and we were forced to cancel the order at 7:45. This girl was the worst waitress I have ever experienced. She was not very apologetic and did not offer to comp our appetizer. I had to speak to the manager who was very accommodating about everything but the experience was a disaster all around. When I asked for Chardonnay she came back 15 minutes later to tell me that the Bar had run out and then she took another 10 minutes to return to tell me that she had found some. Wow!

Appetizers “Small Dishes” left a lot to be desired - very acidic. Cheese plate was not diverse or profound in flavor. Entrees were fantastic. Wine list was over priced, but what fine restaurants isn’t. I didn’t like the selection though either - there was not that many to choose from.

As usual, Bambara was Outstanding! We have been coming here since 2002 when we discovered the Bar during the Olympics. Many Birthdays, Anniversaries and friend dinners later, we are never disappointed here. Looking forward to the next visit

Reliable quality of food and service. This time deserts were a bit disappointing. Pastry of profiterole was tough and chocolate torte was surprisingly not chocolaty.

Outstanding food in hip downtown atmosphere. Makes one feel as if they’re dining in a fine restaurant in San Francisco or New York. The adjoining cocktail lounge is a hidden gem. We’ll be back.

We went for my wife's birthday as it is her favorite dining out option and once again they did not disappoint. Her filet of beef was perfect and left her completely satisfied with our evening out. We have dined here on multiple occasions and they have never failed to exceed our expectations with their outstanding meals and service.

Service was definitely lacking. We had to ask for everything, including menus, refills of water, silverware, etc. I should have tipped myself as I was the one overseeing all of the table management.

We were there for Thanksgiving buffet. While the food was good, it felt like most of it were cheap items (carrots, green beans, veggies in general) and very limited on seafood and main entrees (Salmon was very good, but small potion). We feel it was overpriced at $75, we would have been happy at $40 or $50 max. Most likely won't go back for another thanksgiving.

Perfect Thanksgiving dinner. The selection and variety on the buffet was exquisite...the flavor of everything was above and beyond what one would have expected for this type of layout. Seafood was outstanding artisanal; cheese board, roasted vegetables, lovely, unique salads! Beautifully displayed and excellent service

We went to Bambara for Thanksgiving dinner. It was a buffet, which was quite elaborate. The selections would satisfy any particular desires. Unfortunately I failed to ask (ahead of time) what the price would be so I suffered some sticker shock when I saw the menu. I’m just not used to spending nearly $200 for two dinners.

We dined at Bambara, with friends, for an empty nesters Thanksgiving. Thankfully, our good friends have the kids at in-laws the same years we do. My friend suggested Bambara for our Thanksgiving meal. She says she will eat here before going to the Capitol or Eccles Theaters. I was a bit unsure, since most hotel restaurants don't live up to the hype.

I will admit I was wrong! It was wonderful. From using the valet, to playing Jenga in the lobby as we waited, to table seating and dinner. The meal was a buffet. I was impressed with the array of items. There was a seafood area, with fresh shucked oysters, shrimp, prawns, mussels and ceviche. Next in line, were Italian meats and cheeses, salads, vegetables, fresh rolls, and three types of meat, including turkey.

Everything we tried was fresh and cooked well. Since we don't drink, we opted for sodas. After the main course, we tried our plates at the dessert line. I gained weight just walking by. Mini lemon meringue tarts, pumpkin pie, bread pudding and the list goes on. Yummy.

I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion. We had a wonderful time.

 (New York Area)·Dined on November 17, 2017

Chic place, with trendy menu. But tastes are exaggerated by over- manipulation of the recipes, everything tends to be in the salty side. The gnocchi seemed to be cooked the day prior and re-heated with extra sauce; salmon was salty and spicy and the only remnant of the fish flavor was a slightly fatty aftertaste. Freshness lacked from the menu and the tastes of the items we tried.
The goat ice cream was a great fresh taste and a surprise; but the chocolate mousse that came with it was just too rich to pair with it.
Service was great.

 (Salt Lake City)·Dined on November 12, 2017

Our $18 cheese plate appetizer was incredibly bland, and my old-fashioned was so sickeningly sweet I could only take a couple sips. Most of our entrées were good, excluding the halibut dish, which was by far the most expensive. We ordered some type of ice cream sandwich with caramel sauce that was, hands-down, the best part of the meal.

The meal cost over $300, and the night ended with one member of our party sick in the middle of the night due to something she ate.

The perfect spot for a high class special occasion dinner. Service was stellar and the food was absolutely amazing. The scallops melt in your mouth and the lamb was cooked to perfection. Try dishes exactly as they are with no substitutions for optimal palate experience! Thanks again, Bambara!

You are late due to traffic and they were very accommodating when I called and needed to move our reservation back. We were seated immediately and the server came right away but was not rushed. The food was delicious; I had the beet salad and then the scallops. Everything was very tasty with multiple flavors and textures My husband had a short rib ravioli which he enjoyed very much.

Best meal I’ve had in a long time. The starters sounded all too good to pass. The duck prosciutto was salty (in a good way) and absolutely delicious. The bone marrow was balanced nicely with notes of acidity and crispy cilantro. The cheeks were tender, crispy and meaty. The clams sat in this beautiful thick sauce full of flavor and perfect for dipping and scooping. The deviled eggs were elevated with a perfectly crispy piece of prosciutto and deliciously mildly sweet pickles. If that wasn’t enough for our tastebuds we then had the short ribs raviolis. They were savory pockets of deliciousness paired perfectly with a touch of acidity to cut the richness making it beautifully light and oh so flavorful. Lastly we ended our night with a must have turtle icecream sandwich and an apple sorbet with tarragon. Both nice and light and a perfect ended to the meal. I️ would return to Salt Lake City just to eat here again. Definitely worth the price and the trip.
