Bambera had a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner. We loved everything they served! It spared us having the cleanup and cooking at home. We would definitely eat here again!
Our family eats out every thanksgiving, usually
at very nice places. This was our first meal in which all family members agreed, this is our new go to tradition for thanksgiving. The food and staff were beyond. Our meals were traditional and served directly to us to help with COVID control and staffing issues. Needless to say, everyone needs to make this their new tradition. We will!
While I would still recommend Bambara because the food was good, the prices were a bit steep for my taste. $33 for a small vegetable plate seemed steep. I appreciate that it was a creative plate and tasted fine, it felt more like an appetizer.
My wife wanted to go someplace fancy for her birthday, so we picked this. That turned out to be a mistake.
We both ordered a salad and an entree. The salads were ready very quickly, and finished off even faster, because they were *tiny!* And then we waited for the entrees. And waited. And waited. And waited, for the better part of an hour. Finally the food arrived, and it was similarly tiny. Good, but very small portion sizes, *especially* considering the price! We knew we were going someplace expensive, but if I'm going to order a $50 meal, I expect to receive $50 worth of food!
After all this, we were still hungry, so we asked to see the dessert menu. They only had one item on there that didn't contain either coffee or liquor, and it looked boring and ridiculously overpriced. So we just went "screw it" and I got my phone and put in a dessert order from the Cheesecake Factory. (And *that* was ready for pickup before we even got there!) How a place like this manages to remain in business, in the heart of Salt Lake City, while displaying such blatant ignorance of the demographics of its customer base is beyond me!
The food is amazing everything we come here, definitely best food for the price
We sat at our table and waited for our food for an hour. Our server told us our order got lost in their system and needed to know what we ordered again. It took over 10 minutes for them to bring a glass of champagne to my girlfriend and had to ask for it before it was brought to us. Our server never apologized for our wait on anything
Simply amazing dining experience and incredible menu. The Tiramisu was the best I think I have had period. Main dishes were flavorful and plated really well. Wine offerings were superb. I look forward to revisiting.
Ordered the NY Strip, the cut was low quality. Preparation was excellent.
We were seated in the back room and felt like we were forgotten. The service was very slow. It took 15 minutes to get a glass of wine. The vegetarian dish was delicious. But the scallops were way too salty. I think it’s ridiculous to charge $5 for baguette and butter. If I make a future reservation, I will request to be seated in the main dining area so the server remembers I’m there.
Dinner before Abravanel Hall Music Show
First time back to Bambara since C19. Menu has familiar favorites and some new additions. Like most restaurants right now service is suffering due to staffing shortages, but the food was excellent and you can tell everyone is trying.
Tuna tartare and scallops were delicious. The restaurant has an open kitchen, which is fun until they cook Brussels sprouts.
Have read mixed reviews here prior to going to the restaurant. We found the food and the service to be great.
Great place and location. Food and drinks are excellent.
Our dinner couldn’t have been tastier. Cheese board, beef marrow and scallops were sublime with beautiful tastes and textures. Our server was polite, knowledgeable and attentive. We’ll definitely be back for more…
The food was good, not great. I ordered the NY strip steak. I was not overly impressed. I had the London foggy cocktail; it was excellent! The waiter wore a mask that covered neither his mouth nor his nose. The ambiance was nice. Overall experience was good
Very good service! Our waiter was pleasant and very efficient. We loved the salmon.
The concerige should never seat a party without a reservation that you have to squeeze in before a party with a reservation that has already checked on time and seated 10 minutes after the reservation. Whatever the circumstances should be voluntarily communicated to the customer at least. I.e. cleaning, w/e.
We enjoyed our evening at Bambara and the food was delicious. Everyone was nice the kitchen was very slow. We will definitely go back, I’m guessing they’re experiencing staff shortages like everyone is right now.
The food was good but not excellent. The prices were very high. The price of wine was very high.
The food was simply excellent and perfect portions.
Food was average and both fish dishes were not not warm when served. Charging $25 for corkage is ridiculous. Way overpriced for what we got. Service and ambiance was good.
Everything was wonderful! The dessert were great and the cod was the best weve ever had
Very nice meal. Service was excellent!
Great night out & our server treated us right!
Food was excellent and service by Bowers was also well done. What I've come to expect from Bamabara over the many years we've been there.
Unfortunatley the host, Baron (sp), was not up to par. He ignored the patrons waiting to be seated and stayed on the phone for well over 10 minutes while the waiters stopped by to seat guests. He never greeted guests or even acknowledged their presence. It was very uncomfortable.
Steak was delish. Salad dressing on garden was tasteless. Did not like. Service is just ok.
Nice place. Very expensive for quality and setting. Limited menu. Good not great
We are visiting Salt Lake City & we’re looking for a nice place for our final night.. this was the perfect choice. Although the menu is small each dish was beautifully presented & delicious. Go there!
We had dinner at Bambara before going to the ballet and it did not disappoint. Everything was perfect and delicious. Definitely will be coming back!
Our food was wonderful … that was expected from our prior experience. It’s so fun to have the chefs serve your meal and it’s obvious they take great pride in their work. What was extra nice was the over the top kindness and efficiency of our server, Bowers. Not only were we in a bit of a hurry to go to the ballet, but we split our meal. I always hesitate to split because you often get treated badly it seems… But Bowers never hesitated and they brought our soup in 2 cups and our awesome steak in two beautifully presented dishes! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening Bambara!
We wanted to love Bambara but we simply did not.
The tuna was fishy tasting.
The Caesar salad was bitter with a mild dressing. It didn’t work.
The other good we ordered was okay but we were distracted by a substandard server who made us feel uncomfortable.
We will not ever be going back to this place.
Always enjoy eating at Bambara.
Already looking forward to going back.
The food was delicious. And our server was excellent very knowledgeable and friendly.
food was fine, but definitely not worth the premium price.
Some of the food was way too salty. Our waiter was unwilling to lower the music volume, and said he couldn’t. However the hostess said, “Sure!”
We special ordered off the menu and they fully and happily accommodated our request
Our most favorite restaurant on the planet, there simply is no better place I'd rather go for a meal.
Filet cooked to perfection, not just once, twice or five times, every single time.
We have been going to Bambara since it opened. Our food Saturday night was subpar!!! Our 2 steaks came out cold, Cod was almost raw in the middle...very disappointing. Our server was wonderful, but dont think we will go back
We arrived to find the restaurant closed. Even after being asked to confirm the reservation 24 hours before hand. Had no email, or call to say there were going to be closed.
Struggled to find another restaurant before our show and made a major dent in our night. I won’t be going here again, a shame as I had heard to good was good.
