Incredible food and outstanding, friendly service. An incredible experience, and will definitely be returning.
My husband and I made a last-minute reservation on 12/7/19 and were seated at a high-top table across from the open kitchen. I loved watching the choreographed-like performance of the six chefs working together in the tight space.
The server was great, and he gave us excellent recommendations. My husband had been planning on ordering the beef tenderloin, but trusted the server and instead ordered the seared loin of elk. It was flavorful and tender, not gamey, perfectly cooked to medium rare. I had the yellowfin tuna which was lightly seared and served in a broth made of lobster shells and saffron. It was delicious.
Along with the entrees, we split an appetizer, salad and dessert and had several drinks, so the bill was over $200.00 before tip. We will come here again for a special occasion.
Bamabara was our choice for our honeymoon dinner and has been our choice on many anniversaries since. We love the entire ambiance and the personalized menu with anniversary congratulations is great. See you on December 7, 2020!
Love the atmosphere and food
My only complaint is that my seat seemed to be in the way of staff as they had to turn sideways to get around me and bumped my chair often as they did so. Highly recommend and will be back.
Zach is an amazing server recommending the most excellent menu choice. He is friendly and efficient. The food is excellent and finely presented.
The food was so delicious that we went back a second night.
Our meals were outstanding. We had elk and chicken. The service was excellent.
The wait staff was very responsive, and the food was well prepared. We were pleased with the meal and I am sure that we will return toe Bambara again in the future. When one of our group received an omelet that was not prepared according to his order, they promptly corrected, and prepared a fresh meal which was perfect. They are very conscientious, and prompt in their service.
My go-to restaurant in SLC. Good food, excellent service and confortable surroundings. Can't ask for anything more.
We were delighted to find this delightful restaurant for a brief overnight in SLC. We enjoyed the hamachi appetizer, split a delicious salad, and then enjoyed filet and sea scallops. Service was very good. Folks mapping their way to this restaurant should know it is inside the Kimpton Hotel.
25 minute wait even with reservation ??? Waiter was great A+
We were very disappointed to be seated in a booth, and requested to be moved to an open table for the 4 of us. Was told by the host that a large party was coming. Well, that large party was a party of 2. When I later confronted the host and told him that I didn't appreciate him lying to me, he just looked at me and told me that's what his co-host told him to do. My mother is almost 82 and to have to crawl in and out of a booth with a plate of food from the buffet wasn't easy. Host could have cared less.
Food was fantastic!!! Very nice place to spend Thanksgiving!!!!
Poor dry turkey, pressed ham roll. Waste of money overpriced wine
Food was delicious albeit pricey. Didn't know when I selected "up" that meant bar height chairs/table. Server was able to move us after 30 minutes. Wine selection very good. Server could have been a little more attentive.
Service is always on spot - meals are generally good to great on this visit we had the elk and it may have been the best meal we have ever had there ..delicious!
Steak in steak salad a bit grizzly but overall a very pleasant experience.
Bambara has a creative menu to please a variety of palates. They are really trying to be upscale. We were disappointed with some items. Our blue cheese chips were overdone. We had to ask for bread. They brought 2 pieces for 3 people and it arrived with our entrees (we wanted it for the salads). One salad was a cucumber salad which was so spicy hot, we could barely eat the rest our items. When we expressed it was so hot, it couldn’t be eaten, the waitress just apologized yet still charged $14 for it.
At almost $100 per person for dinner, appetizer, a glass of wine, and shared dessert, I expect spectacular.
Sorry but the server we had was terrible and he took forever on taking orders and food took forever to get to us and 3/4 dishes came cold. I except when I go to high end restaurant that you should experience the best not just so so. So I definitely will never eat here again.
I actually didn't enjoy my meal which was the gnocchi.
My uncle and I both had the shrimp and grits and we both loved it. The sauce was excellent with just the right amount of spice, the polenta creamy, cheesy, and delicious. This restaurant is very pleasant and attractive. However, when I reached for the sugar packets it was easy to see that the ledge hadn't been dusted in probably several weeks. This is the kind thing that might not bother some people, but it's so easy to fix why not just give the ledge a dusting once a week? If the restaurant fixed this little detail I could recommend it easily.
Amazing meal and experience. The staff was prompt, friendly and courteous. The filet and broccolini were to die for!
Bambara is always good. Elk was delicious as was corn risotto and herbed frites!
Martini was watered down and disappointing. Tempura veggie appetizer was mediocre. Highlight was delicious filet of beef, and friend had scallops that were fantastic. Jack was a wonderful waiter and went out of his way to find a special dessert we requested.
Best food ever! I highly recommend it to everyone!
Wine corkage was $25.00. Waiter didn’t decay the wine and poured the first two glasses. This is highway robbery, not to mention the price of wine is quadruple the cost of the liquor store. It’s unsettling and I won’t be back.
The food here I’d usually good. We dined for brunch, which was very good.
The elk steak was amazing. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had.
We've dined at Bambara numerous times and this meal was exceptional! The best dinner I've ever had in Salt Lake City!
prices on wine very expensive. Way over priced Food was also a bit pricy, waiter could have been more pleasant.
The Branzino is remarkably excellent! Together with the other offerings, a great menu.
Superb food . . . . . nice ambiance in the stately old marble and stone!
Nice atmosphere not so loud. We could have a nice conversation
Jake Bowers our Server was amazing
The food and ambiance was very nice. Service was superb!
The food was very good, but our martini's were below expectation. Also, the 600+% markup on the wines was a little over the top.
Great service and fantastic food. Waiter was excellent and ordered for us a congratulatory dessert. Overall great night.
Show at the Eccles
Bambara is an amazing restaurant. The dinner we had one evening was so wonderful that we went back the next day for brunch. We highly recommend it.
