Nothing extra happened as far as for my birthday but we were there celebrating and the food was amazing and got to the table quick
Wonderful food! We had chicken and lamb dishes and both were very good. Waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. Not intrusive at all.
The food was fantastic! Our waiter was the best! I took my wife there for a weekend getaway and we will definitely be back!
I have been to Bambara many times, but the quality of our meal as well as the service tonight was definitely better than in the past. This restaurant is doing great things, and I will be back soon!
Bambara is a place you can count on for solid service and food. Great evening!
Got the elk loin. Best elk ive ever had. Waiter was unenthused and when we asked about what made the mussel & clam appetizer broth so delicious they responded that it was a very basic white wine and cream sauce. Should’ve just re-read the menu as it was more informative than the waiter.
We had tasty cocktails and good food. The service was excellent and the atmosphere is nice.
Regan was an amazing server. We loved her! Stellar selections. A great brunch.
Beautiful setting, beautiful food, with a most beautiful date. 2019 will be full of beauty.
Arrived on the 31st. Requested seating arrangement ahead of time. Wasn’t properly greeted well, nor was I seated where I arranged, ( as seeing as there were tables available even near the area I had requested. Which of course I asked the server if I was able to switch.. waiter said yes. Then we ordered off the menu. Main menu requested there was no more of the main course, waiter failed to compromise or suggest anything else, I was left with really no options as I’m vegetarian. Food arrived missing my partners entree and side entree, I had to send mine back because it had meat. Where I had specified the waiter no meat. So then we had to wait again for our meals. During the course of waiting, we had waters, we had no refills, the lack of attention was very disappointing and unfortunately didn’t enjoy our meal. I was hoping for the service I had had reviewed. So I was highley disappointed. Especially since it was for a personal special occasion.
I love this place. Everything I have ordered, has been excellent. They have some unique items on the menu, all will amaze you.
Horrible service, the restaurant was empty which I assumed I’d be help faster. I staff stood around didn’t greet me, didn’t offer to seat me. They just looked around. I don’t waited for Around for a while and no offered to seat me. Needless to say I will not be returning.
I watched them let someone in right at at 2 o’clock and then turn the next guest away. That was right behind them, maybe at 2:01? So basically they were in line at the same time. Then they shut the door in my face. I knocked on the the door. The guy opened it. I said, I have a reservation I’m just trying to change for tonight... he couldn’t help me. I understood because they were busy. I just didn’t like the way I and the other guests were treated before hand. That night when I dined my server did the best he could, but just had too many tables. He need an assistant.
Nice setting and attentive service. Food was good, main courses were served warm...not hot. Main course of Seared Stealhead was overpriced. It's as though the restaurant felt the need to price their meals high to attract a certain clientele or garner a certain reputation. You don't have to have a high priced menu to achieve an outstanding reputation....you need outstanding food and service.
Terrible. Waited for drinks for 20 min. Food took over 45 min and we had to rush to make the play. They didn’t charge us. But didn’t do anything to make us come back. Would never try again.
We had a concert to get to and our waiter was great in getting us out the door on time
First time being here, always first impression counts, so definitely I”ll go back for a great evening. Food and service excellent!! Thank you !!
Initial service was great however no bread until we asked twice and then came After we started the meal. Price high for what you got.
The worst service & food I have ever had for $200.
Drinks took 15 minutes to get, the poke tuna was brown, the ravioli was so thick & gummy. My husband had the steak, it was mediocre. I wound not reccomend going there for anything. There are so many other better restaurants in SLC.
Reserved a booth, got a high top in front of the kitchen instead. Was okay but very loud and a lot of traffic in that area as you could imagine. Food was great, and came out fast. The service was good, attentive but not that energetic. Expensive menu but you could still find some moderately priced items that were a great value for the serving size.
Awesome as always. Waiter had great recommendations. Christmas cocktails were fun.
Service started out great then the waiter got "dismissive" we had to ask for things several times. The risotto was terrible--absolutely no seasoning--so we sent it back. He brought it back loaded with salt--it was really bad. the Elk steak was fantastic. Cheese board was okay--not much. He finally brought bread to our table at the END of our meal.
We have gone 2 years in a row, and both time were starved by the same energetic awesome guy! Cal! He offered his opinion on good foods and treated us like family. We will definitely be coming back. The food was amazing this year, a better selection than last year.
The service was very terse here - put in drink orders and those took forever (including the water). Then when we finally gave our dinner orders, we hinted to the waitress that we needed to be out of the restaurant with time to get to a show, which was 1 whole hour left in the restaurant. Our food came out 10 minutes before we had to be walking out of the restaurant. And when it came out, none of it was hot, so I'm not sure what they were doing with it while it cooled off. The waitress did not apologize for the wait.
This was supposed to be a birthday celebration too with a birthday dessert, but the long wait did not give us time to actually celebrate. Overall, the food tasted good, but it was cold. The service was also cold. Will not return to Bambara!
Food was very good, especially the elk. Waiter was knowledgeable and helpful.
We ordered the calamari as a starter and Wind River Farms Chicken and Steak Fritas for our entrees. Everything we ate was fine, but nothing delicious or special. We know good food and this isn’t it. This restaurant was recommended to us as a favorite, but we weren’t impressed and wouldn’t return to give it a second chance.
This restaurant never disappoints. Fabulous food and great ambiance. It is one of our favorites in Salt Lake City.
I dined alone on a short getaway to SLC and enjoyed my meal very much at Bambara. Penny was a wonderful server and we chatted a little about the differences in the Denver Hotel Monaco and this SLC location. I had deviled eggs that were delicious and the scallops and a yummy wine.
We were attending a concert at the Eccles theater and so we wanted to find something close by, Bambara's was exactly what we were looking for. Great service, wonderful food and we went out on a limb and ordered the elk dish...WOW!!! We will be back! Well done Bambara!!!
One of the places on my continual dinner out list, that I come back to often. Brunch is good, and dinner choices and meats are cooked amazing.
As always, Bambara delivered. One of our favorite places to go in SLC!
Overall the food was underwhelming for a price tag of $250 for two people and no alcohol.
Tuna appetizer stunk. The only good dish was the corn soup. Entrees, scallops & lamb, were very disappointing. We were wondering if the lamb might be too dry even for our dog.
The only redeeming factors were that the hostess & our waiter were nice.
Food was great, service was great. Restaurant was very cold inside.
Great find looked at a bunch of menus and decided on this one. We were in from out of town and look for restaurants that cook with fine ingredients and put together complicated flavors. Bambera exeded our expectations if we would have ate here our first night we would have come back on the second night. Amazing food especially the lamb.
Great recommendations by our waiter! Steered us to the more unusual (bone marrow, elk, and the mushroom ravioli) for their unique pairings of flavors.
Our company uses Bambara for corporate entertainment. We are never disappointed. Service and food are excellent. The lunch specials are usually interesting. I highly recommend Bambara.
When you ask us 5x’s if you can take our plate it moves from a 5 Star dining experience to a chain food establishment trying to turn tables. The restaurant was only 60% full so pretty sure they didn’t need our table.
The food was excellent the servers were experts in helping us make great choices. The menu had plenty to offer!
I drove 30 minutes out of my way for dinner at Bambara on Thanksgiving night. I scoured the web site and found only the regular menu. Nothing about Thanksgiving. I even looked in Events and there was nothing.
I arrived at the end of a 7-hour cross-country flight to noise & chaos. There was a buffet in the hall and a buffet menu plus a fish and vegetable al la carte menu. I was seated and waited about 5 minutes before someone came with water and asked if I wanted a drink. I said I would wait to figure out food, so he left. I didn’t know he was the server til he returned. I asked about food and he said there was the buffet and that the al la carte dish was included in the buffet. I was tired enough to consider a $40 buffet to get a piece of fish and Brussels sprouts. But I thought I better ask the price. It was $80. That showed up no where on the web site or menu.
This used to be my favorite restaurant in DC, but the quality has gone down as the cost has become ridiculous. There are better and lower cost options in Salt Lake City.
