This was the first time I had eaten in a Polish/Baltic restaurant and so was not familiar with the food. The waiter was extremely helpful and answered my many questions in a helpful and informed manner. We went on Sunday at 2pm and the restaurant was very quiet. We were in a family group of four and had an enjoyable time. There is a delightful looking bar at the front and a really extensive vodka menu. The sorbet with vodka was brilliant.
The aircon felt a bit chilly.
Took a bit of a punt with Baltic but, most certainly, it did not disappoint. Great food with a very different menu specialising in dishes from Eastern Europe. Plenty of dumplings and pickles! An extensive drinks menu with some very interesting sounding Baltic cocktails and, as you might expect, a staggering selection of vodkas.
Very quiet when we visited, perhaps due to the annual Lambeth County Show, but, nonetheless, the service was extremely good. Friendly, helpful, informative and, of course, with plenty of vodka recommendations. Housed in a beautiful old building that, I'm guessing, has been sympathetically redesigned our Baltic experience was extremely good. Great value for money and with the very different food and drinks we would thoroughly recommend. Definitely one to revisit.
We were a party of eight celebrating a birthday and everything from the cocktails and food to the staff and service was excellent from start to finish. We have been here many times and always had a great experience.
Great place. Lovely staff. Fab food. Beautiful building.
Food, drinks and service were excellent and very reasonably priced. Great variety of wines and vodkas.
We were having a family commemoration at the restaurant. The service was great and the food was of good quality and an range of interesting dishes.
It was very quiet,we were the only people in for the first 40 min.! Nevertheless we had a lovely time and the service and food impeccable.
Great restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere. Classy.
Food was not very interesting. Concept of most dishes that we ordered the same, starter and main overpowered by pickled side dishes. Dishes didnt seem to be made fresh from start. All desserts had the same cherry relish in it. Ambience of the place, one big dining area, mostly white, not attractive, felt cold. Would not recommend to friends.
Great and unexpected find. Pre theatre menu great value and super speedy service.
Great service and wine recommendations, food was very good and 2 for 1 cocktails a bonus
Great meal as usual. Pre theatre deal excellent, feta salad followed by pork escalope Holstein. Charming service
Just great service and food - one of the best places in London
great space with attentive and unhurried service, food was beautifully presented and great flavours
We had a great meal, with great food and even better service. Nice to try something different, served with Vodka!
An excellent restaurant I can’t think of any way in which it could be improved
Service is always very attentive and friendly. Great quality drinks.
Excellent value pre-theatre menu. Pretty surroundings with fantastic service.
Really enjoyed my meal at Baltic, unusual combinations beautifully presented. Great service. Great for fish eating vegetarians. Only criticism was rather fierce air conditioning.
This is an outstanding restaurant. Great food interesting and high Quality ingredients & quite generous portions, delightful decor and atmosphere. Service is friendly, precise and professional.
Always a warm welcome and a delightful offering (whether from table d’hote or a la carte). Great for pre theatre Old Vic (even better for New Vic) but we like it so much we also use for the National Theatre if we have time (only 12 minute brisk walk cutting through from The Cut towards the river)
But also convenient for east meets South West friends soirees (especially with offer now of cocktails (2 for one) happy hour) as near Waterloo/Waterloo East and Southwark.
Brilliant food and excellent service in a nice ambient environment. Sunday evening music was a great accompaniment too.
We’ve been going to Baltic for many years and it never fails. Perfect if you’re craving blinis, pickled herrings and cabbage, salmon coulibiac, quality rye bread and pelmeni... Baltic classics cooked beautifully and presented in a more delicate, contemporary way. We love the light airy dining room with its high ceilings and Amber wall decorations. Service is always friendly and efficient - great for large parties and the perfect for pre and post theatre dining if you’re seeing something at the Young Vic. (Oh, and they have a dangerously huge range of vodkas if you’re up for a big night!)
Attractive space, interesting and tasty food, good service and good value for what we had. Definitely recommended.
it's a nice place with nice service, however, food pricing is completely inadequate to it's quality
I was not expecting the restaurant to be this fantastic! It was my first experience tasting Baltic food, and the service and recommendations were so helpful. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside, and it’s definitely a great place to bring friends on a great night.
Delicious food, especially the warm spiced beetroot and soft goats cheese. Relaxed and friendly with a buzz but not too loud.
An amazing experience. Great food, service and ambience. Would definitely recommend it.
A hidden gem, located just outside of Southwark. Tardis like the restaurant opens up as you walk through the door - it's much larger than it looks from the exterior. Impressive and large Eastern European menu. I loved the schnitzel. Good variety of drinks (especially vodka). Only wish they served honey cake when I went!
Great service, delicious food, cherry vodka a must try, lovely ambience. Looking forward to our next visit.
Lovely room and good value with pre-theatre menu however food quality and choice not to our taste.
Great pre- theatre meal for £22 per head plus drinks. Loved the herring
The food is different and always really fresh as well as tasty. Good value pre-theatre 2 course option. We will be back (again).
The chicken livers were fantastic; try the chocolate mouse with rum soaked plums and a hazelnut vodka to finish. Or two. Heading back next week.
Great food. The musicians were wonderful.
All was great until the end. The service was exemplary, the waiters friendly and respectful, the food tasty and flavoursome and it came quite quickly. The only thing that let down our lovely evening was the end and the terse lady who took our payment. We knew it was late, we knew they were shutting (they had made it painfully obvious) but we were eating as quickly as possible so we could go and leave them to their clear-up. They should not have offered us dessert if they were going to rush us through it.
We wanted something different. This was it. Food was delicious. Service excellent and surroundings quite pleasant.
A very nice restaurant with friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. The waiter helped select the perfect wine to compliment my meal. I had the Schnitzel for main, along with the beef tartare for the starter.
I went pre theatre, I was seated quickly and service was excellent and gave me good time to get to the Old Vic.
The pre theatre set menu was limited so I went a la carte.
The cocktails were also lovely.
Always have a good experience at Baltic, lovely light space, good food and wine, informal and efficient service. Beer and vodkas are good, too.
Excellent pre-theatre dinner promptly served with a good range of choices. Description tends to emphases the vodka bar which is unbalanced - this is a good restaurant with a bar not the other way round. High ceilings make it good for conversation
