    A very good experience,just a bit too noisy! Food was very good, waiters were very attentive. Overall we enjoyed our visit.

    Very good Steak Frites and Profiteroles, and generally just a beautiful space with good service. Only criticism was the size of the burrata starter, and the general cost. Cocktails were not $18 cocktails, etc.

    Unfortunately the food was bad. I ate a normal beef with french fries, who was a miserable taste. French fries was just a rest from the fried pan and I saw the another plates was much better. We set in a small table for five, we couldn’t move. I heard a lot about Balthazar but I was disappointed.

    Food took over an hour and a half to arrive. $14 salad was tiny with virtually no dressing. Restaurant was overall very expensive and slow and very loud. I wouldn't recommend this place.

    It was my birthday, so we decided to dine in balthazar with my friends. I ordered onion soup and it was disgusting...salty sour taste and way overpriced. Second i ordered escargot and it was ok, marseille offers way better escargot for price. I got steak and it was all in pepper pieces and tasted like school cafeteria meal. After all i left a note that it was my birthday and my friend mention it, but noone cared and even said happy birthday i even not mention bring a piece of cake like it usually goes. Very disappointing

    Great place and great location. This is the third time my family and I have been here after a chance walk in to get coffee one day. We have always had lunch or brunch and never had a problem. The salads and Eggs Norwegian are always a hit with us. We always make it a to do place when visiting NYC. Just make sure you make a reservation!

    My daughter and I celebrate our joint birthdays at Balthazar almost every year for as long as I can remember. Unlike many restaurants, Balthazar remains exactly the same - it hasn’t aged in any way. Nothing shabby, everything and everyone as fresh as the day it opened. Food consistently wonderful - my favorite meal is breakfast , but this was our dinner / always finished with the amazing crepe brûlée.
