Food was outstanding but the service is not as friendly as their sister restaurant, Pastis. Very expensive; I’d only consider dining here again on a special occasion and for the money, I’d rather dine in a quieter environment.
great food and service in a very nice atmosphere. excellent preparation and presentation of our meals. unique dishes.fantastic wine list. great selections of desserts.great pacing of the meal with no rushing at all and adequate breaks between courses. we never felt like we were being rushed out the door despite it being very busy.
Great food and atmosphere! Service is outstanding. French food and the pommes frites are amazing! Make sure you save room for dessert!
Lovely as always, the setting, atmosphere, the food and service
Excelente la comida y la atención . No es barato, pero vale la pena la experiencia
Fabulous experience! Perfect ambience, great food and a wonderful service. Couldn’t be better!
First day back in NYC for a while ... 20th wedding Anniversary so hitting some old haunts. Wonderful brunch, Great food, excellent service from “michael” . ... ! We will be back !
Quick and efficient breakfast
Accoglienza e servizio al top, abbiamo ordinato la carne che é arrivata bruciata anche se buona. Il prezzo non al livello di cosa si é mangiato
Old fashioned French bistro. Value for money.
The food was excellent. We shared the burger and eggs benedict. Drinks were crazy expensive. I would suggest skipping the booze here.
While our table was near a very pleasant window, it was also next to a drawer with utensils and close to one diner. It was in constant use and continually annoyed that diner. The service was a touch scarce and sometimes slightly gruff.
My husband and I frequent here because it is always exceptional, in every facet. We love it here and I highly recommend it. My choices this evening were the warm goat cheese tart, Coq au Vin, and the pavlova. Accompanied by an old fashion and finished with a tawny port. Delish!
Dinner was delicious and the service was excellent! Perfect for our belated Valentine dinner.
Heck and a half! The food was so good it sent a chill down my spine like the Xanax Is just hitting. I couldn’t believe how succulent a chicken thigh can be. If I was getting executed I’d get my last meal from Balthazar
Great lively place to go for dinner. Good food and the atmosphere is energetic. Our second time there and we have really enjoyed both our visits.
Always a must while visiting Ny. Congratulations!!
We were seated right away. Hostesses were very kind. We ordered fries that never arrived. Possible the waitstaff not super organized. But nice place nice people, lively crowd.
Fantastic food and service, great bread basket. Would definitely return!
Fun time celebrating a family birthday. Place was buzzing, food was solid (although a bit pricey), but service was a little slow.
Excellent service and the food was exceptional. It was a wonderful celebration evening!
Solid and what you would expect. Won’t blow you away but you’ll be satisfied. A touch on the pricey side.
It's been quite some time since I've been to Balthazar but have always loved the institution for the food, atmosphere and service. However, most of the food with this visit was sadly mediocre but the service was polite. There seemed to be an issue with one of the dishes (Salade Lyonniase) coming out at the same time with the hot entrees. The hash was flavorful.
Great service, delicious breakfast.
We got delayed in Valentines Day because of the MTA, we called to let them know we would be late, but it ended up being longer than we thought. Despite us being THIRTY minutes late, the hostess was extremely understanding and sat us within a minute. The staff was kind and attentive, and the food was very yummy! Great vibe overall. Even for it being Valentine’s Day, it wasn’t super loud. The portions are nice, even if it can get pricey, but you pay for an amazing experience overall. I’d definitely like to come back for their breakfast one day.
Visiting our son !
Excellent - as always ! Friendly staff , great food and atmosphere - highly recommend
Valentine’s Day breakfast, did not disappoint. Mimosas were delicious. Hubs got a half order of waffles and an omelette. He ordered a side of sausage as well, but didn’t end up eating it all.
Hostess was very nice and welcoming. It was valentines day so she suggested a corner table that was perfect. They were busy, and our coffee was very delayed. They did not offer anything to offset the huge delay. Most interesting part of breakfast was the oversized mugs they make your coffee in. It's like almost 4 cups of coffee. Very cool. I didn't get it, but my husband did, and he was vey happy. So definitely get it , you won' the disappointed. The Food was very good. I had Poached eggs on avocado on fresh multigrain toast. Nice size serving and ample avocado. The eggs were cooked perfectly. Also the salsa that came with it was fresh and delicious!!. My husband had an omelette with fresh fruit, He really enjoyed it and serving was good. I would go back as it is very quaint, but I might just get the oversized coffee & fresh bread baskets with danishes, croissants. If I had to complain, which I don't, I would say they could have made it a little more special and maybe added cookies for Valentines Day. But overall we enjoyed our Breakfast.
Wonderful fresh food. Highly recommend. As a plus, we had friends from Paris visiting and our waiter happened to speak French which was nice for them. Lovely experience!
Empty plates. All. Empty. Plates. With fingerprints.
Deliciously flavored food in an authentic French brasserie atmosphere. VERY lively, excellent service, too.
Classic NYC French restaurant
Never disappoints. Attentive and sincere service, fabulous food.
Nice place, a little noisy though. Staff was very nice.
Very Good lunch.
Noisy, but very good food!
