Delicious food and had a lovely waiter! Would highly recommend.
Had reserved a table but ended up still being seated 25 minutes after my slot.
Was told to go to the bar for a drink and wasn't served promptly.
Overall was very dissatisfied with the service
Delay to table due to Valentine’s Day. Still a great meal and well taken care of by great staff...
It was valentines day, the service was bad, food was very poor and they have super loud music and cheeky decoration. Not the standards of a Balthazar restaurant.
I would recommend Balthazar any other day than Valentine's. It was loud, gaudy, and the musician only got louder until we couldn't hear each other speak. Not a good gimmick - and hopefully next year it is discarded.
We booked as a special meal out for my husband’s Birthday and from start to finish the staff made us feel special. Although we arrived early we were made delicious cocktails at the well stocked bar with an ambience that reminded me of New York. Our table was well positioned and the menu had a wide variety of choices. Overall the service was courteous, efficient and timely giving us a memorable experience.
Everything excellent except the service. A lot of waiters but we were ignore. They came late to ask for the order , to pick the empty plates , to take care of us. A pittt
Food was okay but it was hugely noisy.
Unusually moules were not very nice. I always have them every time I go. This time they were pretty bad. Outstanding service, wonderful waiter (from Algeria) and we felt very well looked after. Will of course come back hoping to get better mussels next time!
Great ambiance. Always a pleasure to visit.
I had a reservation and eventhough I had to wait 15 minutes more. My dinner tooked about 45-50 minutes to be served. And at the end, poor quality of mussels.
Amazing food, and
No I don’t want to
Lovely place as always, service was a bit inattentive but food was great
We were disappointed that the chicken liver mousse has been taken off the menu and replaced with seared foie gras which wasn’t nearly as delicious. The steak frites another firm favourite was also disappointing, the steak was ordinary and the fries weren’t as good as usual. We usually love Balthazar New York and London, however tonight the entree and main were not up to standard. The soufflé dessert saved the day and was truly wonderful!
The service was impeccable and the vibe as uplifting as always.
Food was excellent service a bit slow - noise level in full restaurant very loud - tables are very close together and no soft furnishings to absorb the sound
A good venue for the shouty
The food was outstanding and the service was really good as well.
good food with a lot of choice. bit noisy. good service
Food was very good, late night hours makes it a gods post-theater option! Service was a bit slacking!
Superb French cuisine in a beautiful art deco setting, with some of the best service in London. All staff are super responsive, friendly and warm. The pre -theatre menu is also excellent value
Good French style food in a Paris look alike Brasserie. Very enjoyable pre theatre meal.
Yummy macaroni cheese xx
Great experience. Food was quick to arrive and drinks were nice too
Six of us including an 18 month year old had a great brunch with wonderful food and friendly service.
Went for Sunday morning brunch, was lovely surroundings but food wasn’t particularly special for the price.£70 for 2 people for pastries, full breakfast, eggs bene and 2 bloody marys.
Wonderful, pleasant experience
Did it once, don’t need to do it again. Food was fine but would never hit my top 10 or even 20 restaurants to return to. Server was a bit of a bull in a China shop.
It was good
We had an excellent time and the food and service were superb!
Lobster with chips was sensational. I had the lobster pasta which wasn’t as remarkable as the lobster on Its own. However this was made up for by the phenomenal desserts. The chocolate dessert was the best I’ve ever had and I’m quite the connoisseur of melting chocolate cakes. The raspberry and pistachio cheesecake was also delicious. Can’t wait to go back! Also good value!!!
We had a lovely dinner - the food was delicious (especially the scallops) and the staff were attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere was welcoming and lively and the restaurant is beautiful. Efficient service so it’s great for pre-theatre!
The food was excellent as always. Three of us were dining for lunch. Two of us had the set lunch which we were very happy with. The person who had the raw seafood platter thought it was a bit small. Also - the fresh crab was unavailable & a substitute was made by the waiter but no discount was given. Puddings were really, really delicious - especially the raspberry ice cream profiteroles.
It was Friday lunchtime & the restaurant was busy & buzzing. Tables are quite cramped & there’s a lot of steps up to the bathroom if you have any elderly diners as we did. Recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. The food was excellent and service was great. We will definitely go back.
First time at Balthazar. Have always wanted to go there.
Lunch was nice. Had the set menu. Choice was a bit limited.
Was slightly disappointed that the baked soufflé was not on the menu. I saw it on the set menu when I booked but when I got there it was not on the menu.
Mushroom soup starter very good
Bread very good
Macaroni dish very tasty but I would have preferred more meat choices. Eg no chicken or beef on the set menu
Steamed trout was quite good but nothing to rave about
Nice waitress arranged for us to take macaroni leftovers home in a nice Balthazar carrier bag.
The bathroom upstairs on 1st floor is lovely as is the nice staircase going up to the bar
First time to Balthazar in London after many visits to Balthazar in Manhattan. It was lovely. Food and service were fantastic!
Great service and atmosphere. We Weill definitely revisit and always book in advance.
Wish the bread is warm!
But the rest was good.. Ambience and deco were just great
Great as usual. Visit there a couple of times a tear when visiting London. Busy, bustling place on a Saturday night. Great French Onion Soup and we love their Short Rib of Beef with Mustard Mash. Mouthwatering! Service was good and with a smile. Recommended.
Pre theatre meal for special birthday - terrific all round
Have eaten here several times. Food is always delicious and great service.
