Bali Steak & Seafood Ratings and Reviews
Table was available when we arrived. Food was cooked well!! Service left me wondering if we would return a second time or on our next visit to Hawaii! Very slow also our server did NOT ask when drink glasses were empty if we wanted another. Not complaining about the cost at all, bit with that cost I was hoping for much better service from your wait staff.
The service and meal was mediocre! We looked at the menu online and thought it would be great! We had filet and seafood medley! It was bland, all of the sides had a odd seasoning or sauce. I would say for the amount of money, go some place else, this place was disappointing at best.
The restaurant is amazing, and the drinks were fantastic! The service also very good, just don’t order the Maine lobster, is was mushy and if it wasn’t so late I would have for sure went back, keep in mind, this is not a cheap restaurant.
The huge steak was amazing, and so were desserts.
The wait staff and busser was excellent. The hostess was not friendly, no smile, did not give an update of when the table was ready. We checked in at 650pm and had to ask her for an update at 705pm. Then there was progress. She replied back, I'll call you when your table is ready, they are setting it up now. The restaurant had many open tables on Sat 1/6 at around 7pm so we don't understand why it took so long. What I did not like was her attitude and response when asking for an update.
The location and view were amazing however, the food was disappointing for the amount of money spent. The duck was undercooked and the exotic veggies paired with the dish (maybe only intended for decoration) were awful. The seafood stew and fish special that night did not meet our expectations either. The $75+ steaks ordered were nicely done and enjoyed by my husband and sons. We also enjoyed the sides (Brussel sprouts, potato puree, and spinach) ordered a la carte. And honestly, I wish we had just ordered the sides. For the money, I was extremely dissatisfied and will not return.
I have to agree with many of the other reviews ... food is not that great and very pricey, but the location and service (people) are outstanding. It was a New Year's eve dinner, and at $200 per person set (3 course) menu, I expected better. As it was, my girlfriend's lobster was raw inside, not just under-cooked. Of course they took it back and prepared another one .. but, the timing (she has nothing to eat while I have my main course in front of me) and mood was ruined. My girlfriend was so upset, she refused to continue eating even after a new dish was brought out. But the main complaint is that we lost the "time" spent there ... I cannot rewind the evening, and New Year's Eve doesn't come around for another 362days. I have dined here many times in the past .. I may not be back for a while, if ever. I hope Bali can remedy their short-comings and leave a more positive impression with their customers.
The food presentation was pleasing but there was nothing notable about the menu or flavors except the prices. Apparently we were paying for the location but a similar beach view is available at Tropics. The staff was very attentive and deserve praise for providing service one would expect at a fine restaurant.
I ordered bone in ribeye steak in medium + and it came out more like medium well to well done. The ribeye look more like T-bone steak with very little marbling and dry. Service was slow maybe because it was Christmas night. I didn’t want to send it back because it already took over an hour to get my food. I’ve had many ribeye steaks in various fancy steak houses around the US and world for the price of $60 (ala carte ) this has to be the worst quality meat. I gave it 3 star because my wife fish plate was actually good.
My family and I were staying at the Hilton for the weekend so we ate dinner here one of the nights. Nice ambiance, but way overpriced for the little amount of food you get. I was disappointed with the taste of the food too. I ordered the Opah, and in my opinion it was over cooked, but My daughters snapper was real good, tender. Even the bread they bring before the meal wasn’t very good. The drinks were watered down. Overall I don’t think I’ll be back. Wasn’t worth the $260 price tag.
The meal was delicious, and watching the sunset on our first day in Hawaii was amazing. We were initially a little taken aback because two couples around us had some sort of special honeymoon menu, which was not offered to us despite us adding that it was our honeymoon on Open Table. That said, if we had gotten that menu, we would not have had the incredible Ahi Tuna that we did enjoy immensely. Plus, they did bring us a special dessert, which we thoroughly enjoyed as well.
For the price you should have great wait service. Waiter forgot our wine. Came after we were done with dinner. Seems the Japanese guests were favored and waited on more so than Americans. My seafood dish did not come with the fresh catch fish as advertised. Only came with the spiney lobster tail, 1 scallop and 2 shrimp. No Mahi Mahi as advertised by waiter when ordering. Fillet was good but very spendy for what it is.
Don't get me wrong, the food was very good, as was the service. But the price was outrageous. I have never spent $400 for a dinner for three in my life. That covered a bottle of wine, two soups, and three entrees. I have had dinner for four (with alcohol, appetizer, entree, and dessert) at steak houses for 1/4 the price that were actually better food. Will I go there again? Never.
I had fish (Snapper) and it was ok. I expected a more tastier meal from a restaurant at the Hilton. My wife had a Fillet Magnon and it was the worst cut of meat; It had no taste and it was completely dry. I let our waiter know and he graciously offered to take it off the tab but that wasn't why I let him know. The best part of our meal was our sons grilled cheese. We tried two restaurants at the Hilton, in two different days, and they were both awful. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant.
Went for thanksgiving, ordered off the regular menu. Everything was delicious. Got the crab coquettes off our server's recommendation and they were excellent. Steak and chicken entrés were very tasty. Go around sunset for beautiful views, it's still nice after dark but perfect for sunset. (Note it doesn't actually face west, but you get the colors in the eastern sky as it sets west)
The Bali is a very nice, partly air conditioned and partly open-air steak and seafood restaurant that opens to the Hilton Lagoon. The restaurant has maintained the ambiance of typical and classy early modern Waikiki restaurants that I enjoyed in the 1960’s and 1970’s. This is the first time I’ve gone there and would go again on special occasions.
A Beautiful view of the ocean and a brilliant sunset combined with a great meal made for a wonderful evening. We dined during Restaurant Week and had a spectacular experience. The service was excellent and our meal was beautifully and tastefully prepared. For $55 we had three courses - Caesar salad, snapper and mousse. What a deal!
Handling of gluten free dinner and dessert went well although the menu gluten free markings on the menu were inaccurate. They said they were reprinting menus and I’d rather be safe than sorry. For this reason I was unable to have the Lobster Bisque. The worst part was my wife had the Bisque and was very unhappy with the flavor as well her fish and risotto entree.
