The food had great sauces that made them delicious! They knew we were there to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and they gave us a table with a fantastic view of the harbor & a fancy dessert. Very nice.

Star was the first to greet us. It looks like she had just come in to start her shift. Her patience, smile, and spirit won me over. She accommodated my requests, one of which was a table closer to the views of the water. The venue is beautiful with open views of the bay. The menu and service catered to a buffet brunch only. Most in my party wanted an ‘a la carte’ menu but it was not an option at the time. Unfortunately, I was in a party of five and the majority won. We chose another venue and left.

Bali Hai earned 5 stars for their exceptional customer service. I gave a 3 to all the rest as I would be coming back…this is to be continued.

This was my second time to dine in this restaurant. The atmosphere is very welcoming and chill. Stunning San Diego skyline view. The staff are very efficient, friendly and very accomodating. Food is amazing and reasonable price too. Love this place and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended.

Food was good … very busy and packed so noise was loud and not recommended for a cozy date night. But gorgeous views and good menu selections

Excellent brunch! But be hungry; the cost is very fair with the very high level of offering (crab legs, shrimp, prime rib, salmon and etc.) but a single main meal plate with salad and dessert versus three or more "Sunday after church" meal and then a do nothing day would be more enjoyable. The view was incredible, San Diego skyline in the near distance with the San Diego Bay spread out in every direction beneath the dining area(s). Will have to go back for a dinner after sunset, I'm sure the lights from the city across the bay will be incredible. Definitely on my "short list" of a place for those special events.

Food was fantastic drinks were fantastic! Service a bit inconsistent our server seemed to pay attention to bigger parties more than us. It was our anniversary had friends go where they wrote happy anniversary on the plate, not us. We did get a complementary dessert. Maybe it was just busy?

We are using Bali Hai as our wedding reception venue in two weeks and never tried them for their brunch. It was beautiful (had a window ocean view) and the food was wonderful. Our server was polite and attentive. I would recommend them for any event or dinning experience. Love their food and the location is perfect. Definitely recommend reservations and getting their early.

it was a great experience for a special occasion.
Service was fantastic, and we did not feel rushed, even though the dining room was full. The drunk lady who fell down the stairs and got into her car was dealt with by the Staff in an appropriate manner! Watch out for those Mai Tai's!!
Seriously fun evening in a gorgeous setting in breathtaking San Diego. :-)

We celebrated an anniversary and requested outdoors or a nice window view. We were delighted to be led to the best table on the patio where we were in awe of the panoramic view of the bay downtown skyline. Stunning.

The Ali'i Tasting had an odd version of lumpia but all else was delicious. Too bad the poke as it's own app but it is on the happy hour menu. The New York steak was tender and the thin potato slices underneath soaked up its juices and were oh so good. The short rib was delicious, served atop noodles, seasoned with the perfect amount of garlic butter sauce. Only 1 complaint: the steamed broccoli had a lot of yellow florets and one that was bad (took home leftovers). Which is surprising, as one wouldn't know if they're sautéed or sauced.

Our cocktails were very good and we chose their famous Mai Tai for our 2nd round - also our last. It's no wonder they limit you to 2 of them. So look ahead and drink wisely!

Service was great. Our waiter was attentive and assured us with "take your time" - which we much appreciated after just visiting Europe where most are encouraged to do just that. Our only regret is only tipping 20% when the wait team deserved more for providing a wonderful dining experience for us.

So disappointing. I've been a SD native for a while and was so exciting to check out this iconic landmark. I was expecting a 'REAL' Polynesian experience and instead, we got a very noisy, banquet-like setting along with banquet-like, mass-produced, overly priced food. the appetizer was good and the drinks were strong but reasonably priced. the main meals were both awful and the server didn't care and kept each $40 plate on the bill even though we each had no more than three bites and ended up stopping for food on our way home. If you are looking for a more authentic setting with good food, don't be fooled into thinking this is it - keep looking.

The Bali Hai has an amazing location; views of San Diego Bay and the downtown skyline, and Coronado bridge. The ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant is great! It’s a nice restaurant with a very casual feel so it’s very inviting. The food is so-so, nothing truly spectacular, and the drinks are poured with a VERY heavy hand! I’ve been to the Bali Hai about 10 times so I’ve gotten a good feel for the restaurant. I love the vibe and location, that’s what keeps bringing me back. Food and drinks could use a bit of improvement. Overall a pretty good experience and I enjoy the service each time I eat here

What a beautiful restaurant! The view of the bay and the city was a real treat. The view could only be outshone by the incredible level of service that we received from Marco. Marco was attentive and had great suggestions for food and drink. He was very pleasant to interact with. Marco took us back to pre-Covid days when exceptional service was easier to find. The restaurant view, food and service were all a really pleasant surprise that made our evening special. I would definitely trust Bali Hai and Marco with another special night out.
