Always delicious and fun! We love this place and can always count on it to be a great experience
With the most amazing views, beautiful decor, excellent and friendly service, delicious food and imaginative drinks, Bali Hai has got to be one of the best dining spots and definitely the best value for money in San Diego!
Great food and awesome service!!
The ambiance was amazing but the drinks were much to strong, the food was mediocre, and the service was atrocious!
We have been looking forward to this for months. We enjoyed the dining, the view, and the overall experience.
Their credit card processor didnt work. It was not my card or bank ...had to make that awkward phone call from my table. God bless America cash is still printed and I had it on me.
I thought the food would be a bit better than it was. Drinks were strong 👍. Service great. Just not sure it’s worth it for dinner. Happy Hour, yes.
This is not the place for good food. It is for drinks & ambience only.
Good food and service and nice atmosphere but the noise level was way too loud.
Hot meal wasn’t hot, though very tasty. Server needed tp be flagged down - with some effort - to get salt, pepper, soy sauce, more water...
Good food, great view, just “could” have been great.
It was very disappointing. We have been here before and had a lovely time. But the bottom of the restaurant was closed and not due to Covid, Supposedly for a wedding reception but there was absolutely nothing happening. We had a 7 PM reservation and we were not seated until 725. There were a lot of drunk people in the restaurant which was uncomfortable because a man walked into the women's room and there were so many people you could not walk around without bumping into people just to get to your table. There was no social distancing whatsoever. And the hostess's mask was below her nose the entire time even though we were all required to wear masks. We made our reservation about two months ago for my son's high school graduation special dinner. We were eventually seated outside where we wanted to be with a partial Oceanview and it was quieter, but it got very cold and two heaters by our table did not work despite the restaurant knowing they were broken, they tried to start them over and over again and they never brought over another heater and it stayed cold. I ended up sick all evening once I got home and I think it was from my dinner which I stopped eating midway through because it was very salty and I suddenly had a very full feeling. I am still not feeling 100% today. It was yellow fin tuna. Everyone else in my party is fine and I was the only one who had this meal. I am very disappointed and not likely to return.
Great view of the surrounding water and scenery. Courteous staff. Good food choices at brunch.
We loved our visit! My grandparents got engaged at this restaurant, so it was very special to see a part of my family's history in person.
The Buffet is back!! Delicious & fast friendly service!!!
our server Johnathan was very knowledgeable of the menu and provided an excellent experience for my wife and I. Definitely will be coming back.
Great ambience, food was decent, service is amazing!!
Drinks, appetizers and dessert were great. Main dishes were just so-so.
Wonderful venue at Shelter Island. Good menu, good drinks and best views of San Diego harbor and great view of city at night. Arrive early and take a walk along waterfront- peaceful and safe- a favorite of our family for many, many years.
Little overpriced but great seating and drinks.
Bali Hai is a must stop when in San Diego! The best tiki drinks, awesome food, friendly people, and excellent service. You can’t go wrong!
Great view and ambience. Tasty food at a reasonable price.
Everything was wonderful, this was for a special dinner for friends and it could not have gone better. We were sat at a perfect table overlooking the bay, received fantastic service from our server Victor (as well as our cocktail waitress). The food was incredible. We felt safe, comfortable and cared for by the entire staff. It was truly a perfect experience! Thank you Victor and Bali Hai!
It would have been nice to see a warning on the 4% surcharge due to Covid. Overall, great experience though.
The wife and I decided to try a new restaurant, as we often have while on vacation in San Diego. We have always been disappointed, until we tried Bali Hai that is. The foot was exactly what we wanted and had beautiful views of the skyline of the city. Our server, Aaron, was outstanding too. We will definitely be back!
The hostess was very nice when I checked in. I mentioned I was a little early and asked if I can check in early. She said it was fine. I sat for about half an hour on the side bench and she told me my table was ready. I had mentioned that I was waiting for another person to come. She said to me don't worry I'll lead your guest over when they arrive. I was so surprised I got a window seat. The view was amazing and gorgeous. The food was just perfect and it was not too salty. I think for future guests who wants a good seat in the restaurant is to do a reservation early. It's just a suggestion. The noise level was energetic and there were a lot of people.
Two little food for too much money. Service a little slow.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego and it does not disappoint, fabulous views, man-tai is exceptional and strong, the food was fresh, tasty, and well prepared, service was excellent, overall amazing !!
Family members meeting each other for first time.
It was our last day of vacation. My fiancé and I had a great time. The drinks were great! Food was fresh service was fast. Over all a great experience.
dinner menu was great just wish the pan seared filet & pork chop was still available. but overall everything was great. and there was a hair in my wife’s water
They have transformed their Sunday Buffet into a safe experience. Servers now plate your food from behind a plexiglass station. Still the same great food with a great view. The wait staff was still their refilling drinks and taking care of us just like before.
Crispy Ahi Tuna is bonkers.
Wonderful service; wish I would have a table with the amazing beach view
Good food, good drinks, good vibes.
Continues to be one of my favorite places in San Diego. Was great for a date or any meal really.
Great ambiance, amazing view, and delicious food!
Food was fine but service SLOW. Fish was cold when it finally got to us. Ambiance fun but restaurant was loud. Overall, it’s okay but it’s a bit pricey for a long wait.
My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and we got a table right by the window over the water. It was the perfect spot for our occasion and we were even running a little late for our reservation but they kept it for us. The food was delicious and the drinks are always a good time.
Drinks are definitely worth it
Amazing view, good food and drinks
