Balade Ratings and Reviews
6 of us went out for a friend’s birthday on a Friday. The service was great. The staff were attentive to our needs. Great food and reasonably priced. We shared the mezze supreme and grilled platters and there was plenty of food. I would go back and try more dishes.
Our group from work had a vegetarian who knew Mediterranean cuisine so we chose Balade which was so close to our work. We were so lucky!! We ordered small plates and loved everything our colleague ordered. Also liked the prosecco. Sparkling water was no extra charge yay! The staff was very attentive and described items if we weren't sure if.
One disappointment is we love cocktails like vodka which balade does not have. Just wine, beer and wine cocktails. Ok that's not bad.
Loved the food !
I really don't like when customers aren't greeted by a hostess. We waited for 10 min before we were greeted, and another 7 or so until we were seated. Once seated, things moved fast. We got attention from our waiters quickly, and they accommodated all our requests perfectly. They were friendly too. Food was delicious and such comfort food if you know what to order. I'd come back for sure.
The food at Balade was mediocre (although the lamb chops were delicious) and the service was absolutely horrible. To start, our party of 3 was seated at a table for 2 when we asked to move to a larger table we were told it was only for parties of 4, however a few minutes later a table of 3 was seated there. Our experience with the waiters was not any better, we repeatedly had to ask for them to clear our plates during our meal and were practically ignored by the staff. The cherry on top was when we were all but kicked out of the restaurant and asked to leave because another party had this table reserved. I make a point not to linger in busy restaurants but it is incredibly rude and ungrateful to be asked to leave as you are writing out the tip on your bill. I would never come back to this restaurant the service was appalling.
We made a reservation for 8:45 PM but were still not seated by 9:10, 25 minutes after the reservation, despite constantly being reassured that a table would open up "in a few minutes." As such we decided not to keep waiting. If you're gonna overbook with online reservations at least keep any delays to a minimum.
Our favorite Lebanese restaurant in NYC. Always delicious, fresh, and accommodating. The sfiha, fatayir with spinach and feta, mouhmara (spicy) are amazing small plates (along with their incredible humus and pita breads). The mezze platters are a great way to share and ALL of the entrees (meat and veggie) are great. We have never been disappointed with ANY dish we have ordered.
First time at Balade for a date, and it was perfect! The food and customer service were just a small taste of the perfection. I've been looking forward to trying Mediterranean food for the longest, and I am thrilled that I chose Balade for my first experience. The ambiance was amazing -- we walked out of the restaurant forgetting that we were in New York City. I've already told a few friends about it, and I will continue to do so. I will be going back!
This is one of my favorite places in New York. As someone who grew up with their mother and grandmother's Lebanese cooking, I'm usually a harsh critic of Lebanese restaurants. But Balade has some of the most delicious, authentic Lebanese food I've ever had outside of Lebanon. The atmosphere is great, and the service is excellent. The waitstaff is always extremely attentive and always makes you feel at home. This restaurant is truly one of NY's best.
Two of the members of our party were running 25 minutes late, but they didn't mind and sat us anyway. The food was excellent and not that expensive. We had a number of dietary restrictions and health conscious people but we all got something we were able to enjoy. Great night overall.
The food and service were excellent.
The owner/manager? recommended Lebanese wine and it was delicious. I was able to sample three wines before ordering. It was a nice touch.
Waiter came to our table at least twice to ask if everything was alright and about the food. Nicely done.
I would definitively recommend this restaurant.
