I came here for Valentine's day with my girlfriend and I was NOT pleased. Walking in, the atmosphere was a bit more chaotic than I expected, with children running around and a surprisingly lax feel from the employees--both of which I would have been fine with if I were eating somewhere where I wasn't preparing to drop several hundred dollars. Though there were many booths and tables against the wall (not to mention we were obviously on a date), we were seated in the center of the floor at a tiny hightop, directly under a bright light in front of the sushi bar. Considering we had a reservation and the restaurant was nearly empty, I was aghast. Our server was friendly, though disheveled and also with a seemingly careless attitude. The food was fantastic and came out very quickly, though the portion sizes were small and extremely expensive. Overall, the experience was severely lacking and I will not be returning.

To be fair my husband and I are sushi snobs. We are very picky when it comes to fresh fish. I wouldn’t say their fish was bad, it was definitely above decent. BUT, for the price ... it wasn’t worth it... the portions were very skimpy. If we are paying that much.. we want the fish to melt in our mouth. They left the skin on sashimi cuts, which made it very chewy. I can list a few sushi places in Charlotte that are cheaper with better portions and better quality seafood. Was it horrible? No. Was it worth it? Absolutely not.

We went to Baku for Valentines Day and were not disappointed. Food was delicious and served beautifully. Our waitress was attentive and caring. Great Asian food.

Kushiyaki was great. Dissapointed that they ran out of pork belly (said they had 3 orders for the night). Not sure how that happens on a Friday... Vegetable tempura was extremely heavy and oily.

Great dining experience! Also have to give credit to Amy....after dinner, I went back to hotel and noticed my diamond pendant that my husband gave me for our 10th anniversary was missing from my necklace. When I called, she went out of her way to search for it and found it. I am so thankful for this sweet girl who rescued my very sentimental pendant!! Thank you so much to Amy!!

Went there for Queens Feast. Great deal for $35! Sushi is always fantastic here. Ambience and service the tops. Can be expensive if doing ala carte, but cannot get better variety and quality for sushi.

Came to Baku for Charlotte Restaurant Week - had a good menu and choices (liked that you got an extra appetizer, rather than dessert - could accept upcharge for dessert). Only negative was the lights above our table kept flickering - and when we mentioned to our server, she committed to resolve but never did. As we were leaving, noticed lots more lights flickering - maybe ambiance (or maybe something else). Didn't distract from our dining experience, though.

I was extremely happy about my experience. Was just out with my best friend and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we are looking forward to our next time. The food was extremely delicious and had us wanting more. Waitress was very polite and knew the menu very well. Food didn’t take long at all. Overall had a fantastic time and will definitely recommend. Thank you Baku 😁👍🏽

The hostesses did not seem happy to see us and one of them flashed one quick fake smile before seating us. They hardly opened their mouths to speak to us. The hostess is the first impression of the restaurant and they could definitely be more warm and welcoming. Our server Reggie was friendly and efficient. The salad was delicious. The main course (salmon) was good. I especially enjoyed the chocolate dessert.

We took advantage of the Queens Feast . The food was good, although the portions were a bit small. We felt rushed- the entree came before we finished our appetizers. Not sure we will go back.

Loved it. We took our 13-year-old twins here for a nice birthday dinner. We all enjoyed tasting tapas style dinner and great wine. We already have our next reservation can’t wait to go back . Plan to spend a few dollars here it’s not cheap but well worth it.

This was our first time to Baku, and we were taking advantage of restaurant week. Our waiter, David, was excellent in his source of knowledge, attentiveness, and overall care he showed to not only our table, but the rest of his customers as well. Every dish we had was impeccable. We will definitely be returning soon.

Came here during restaurant week with my fiancé and his friends. Service was fine but the food really wasn't anything special. For a restaurant in southpark area I was surprise that they had a one stall restroom. Probably wouldn't come here again. I rather spend close to $100 elsewhere

I thought Baku was over-priced for what you get. My bill was almost $100 for 2 people who had 2 drinks each. Not a great value and food arrived haphazardly.

We went for our NYE dinner here and we were not disappointed. Our waitress was exceptionally knowledgeable about every menu item, and patient with us. As this was our first time here, it was a bit overwhelming but we were guided well through the sections. Everything we ordered came out pretty quickly and was a good portion to share for 4 ppl. We had the calamari, pork dumplings, tiger prawns, Chilean sea bass skewers, pork belly skewers, soft shell crab, lobster roll, and dragon roll. I can’t rave enough about the skewers! It was easily a great and filling evening.

All of the dishes we tried were excellent but the Chilean sea bass skewers were unbelievably delicious. I’m not a seafood person but I can’t wait to go back and have those again. Joe, our waiter, was very good.

Our visit to Baku, as our previous visits, did not disappoint. The food was great. In particular, we love the Tuna Tartare, as well as the Salted Edamame. The pork belly and Kimchi is a favorite of my husband's, and it was excellent as well! Perfect spicing on the Kimchi. We also shared a Dragon Roll, and that was fresh and extremely flavorful. The only downside was I had to send my wineglass back due to lipstick marks... but that does happen from time-to-time. However, as we were later in the evening, it was not that busy, so that should have been checked :). But our service was great, and the atmosphere is always lovely.

Love this place. Best dinner I have had in a long time.
We tried about 14 different items and they were all great.
David was our waiter and he was excellent.
Yes, it may be a bit pricing but the quality you get is worth it.

Staff was on point! Food options were great. Not traditional, however in a good way!

Multiple small plates and drinks can get pricey.

Great for a special occasion and/or date night.

I would recommend it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our food, and the service was excellent. Lee Anne, our server, was awesome - she made great recommendations and did a great job. We ordered a lot of different things to share, and everything was delicious. I would personally recommend the lobster roll, crab legs, salmon belly sushi and the ribs. Also, brussels and sweet potatoes were excellent.
