Bake's Place Ratings and Reviews
We've been going to Bake;s since it was up at Providence Point on the Sammamish Plateau. We love what Craig and Laura have done with the restaurant in Bellevue. They clearly love what they do and it shows. It's a wonderful place to hear music, have a good meal, celebrate, and enjoy the sun on the deck in the Summer.
This is a classic , hip, music bar. The band that played (Shaggy Sweet) was not truly blues, as I had thought, however, brought the house down. The food was good overall, drinks were a bit pricey. There is a 10$ cover charge, but very worth it. Book in advance to get seating closer to the stage. Notable mention- the guitarist of Shaggy Sweet nailed Jimmy Hendrix's guitar work! Love the venue, service was good, music was excellent. Will be back. Great date night! :)
We don't eat meat or shell fish, so the entree menu was very sparse for us. Instead, we ordered off the small plates and found that good and fun for a change. We saw Ventura Highway Revisited....our 4th time over 2 years. Always good, always enjoyable!. The service this time was a little less than great. But we go for the entertainment so that didn't matter.
Had a great time. The band, Ventura Highway Revisited played and were great. First time I had heard them and looking forward to seeing them again there as the sound/mix was perfect -- not to loud - spot on. Food was great. Wine was great. Really enjoy seeing live music there and having a great meal. Thanks.
This was our first time here and it will not be our last. We went to see the 9:45 pm show of Kalimba. I wasn't sure what to expect, but this place is a true find. The food was really good, the drinks were really good, and the music was the best. We parked in the building's garage and it couldn't have been easier. Our server was attentive and helpful - not so easy to accomplish when the music/concert begins - but he was really great! I will definitely go to Bake's Place again!
The food was "okay." My husband ordered prawns which were not done; I ordered chicken wings that were bland (could have used a little more seasoning) and after several bites of the macaroni and cheese, there was something lumpy in the sauce that didn't sit well with my taste buds and I did not eat any more of it. The DJ had not shown by the time we left which was disappointing. We stayed about an hour after the tables were moved.
Bake’s has a warm welcoming ambiance, spectacular food and craft cocktails. The booths along the back wall are perfect if you want to relax and groove to the many musical acts that play at Bake’s. I’m particularly fond of the Stonecutters and they play the second Friday of each month. It’s my 5 Star fav!!!
Bakes is a unique, one-of-a-kind, intimate, dinner-live music venue in downtown Bellevue. "Nearly Dan" played this night and this band is off the charts great, packing the house! Both the food and service were very good. I'll look forward to my next night at Bakes
We like going to bake's place a lot . We go there to hear the fabulous music they have lined up regularly. On this occasion, there was loud talking and laughing that was distracting from the bar area. I liked my dinner. My husband said his was so so. We really enjoy the owners and the ambience.
I live and work in Downtown Bellevue and frequently walk past Bake's place seeing the live band playing outside with a nice outdoor seating area. Ended up here on a Friday night around 7:15pm (had reservations and not overly crowded at that point) to finally enjoy what I saw from the outside looking in.
We started with the Wild mushroom and bacon appetizer which was extremely good. Very rich so be ready for heaviness in your mouth. Luckily we each had a cocktail to smooth that over. I enjoy meat, so naturally I had to have the 15oz ribeye with Madeira sauce and substituted "frites" with the forbidden rice. Nice choice! My friend had the Halibut also with forbidden rice.
My steak was fattier than normal (we had just been to another steak restaurant with the same cut last week and it was far superior at the same price pint). My friends Halibut was overcooked and somewhat dry she said..I can attest to that.
The service was fairly quick in the beginning to get us ordered, but afterwards for water refills or checking up or even to get the bill there was no service whatsoever. The ambience definitely makes up for this as you have nice trees covering the city buildings along with the live band and candles with low light making for a great evening out for a romantic date, out with friends, family or really any occasion.
Will I be back? Likely for happy hour or something small to enjoy the ambience but not necessarily for the main dishes.
Service was poor. One entree came out 10 minutes before the others. Food was okay, but not great and the appetizer was awful. We didn't eat it and when the server took away, we mentioned that we did not like it and he just snorted. Chef tries to be too creative, pairing shishito peppers with aioli and fish flakes, and dousing a hanger steak with balsamic. We asked that no sauce be put on hamburger, and it came slabbed with mayo and mustard. Music was fair. Not sure we'll go back.
Andy Stokes was terrific! Excellent soul musician with a jazz twist - great for both dancing and listening. Show was sold OUT but food was very tasty with ample portions. I had a pork chop that looked more like a roast! Service was passable, but understandable with such a large crowd. We sat in the balcony which is a great find for folks who want to view from above and attempt limited conversation. Will definitely return to Bake's whenever we visit Bellevue!
