Great show with a great band.. It would be awesome to have whoever is doing the band introduction to remind people to keep their table conversations to a minimum while the musicians are performing.. The table next to us didn't shut the hell up the whole show. They should've just stayed home.
band was awesome, food was killer. Great vibe at Bake's Place. We'll be back.
We had a blast. The food was excellent though expensive. The music provided by Doctor Funk was excellent and worth the cover charge. We truly had a good time. The service was adequate in that we were served quick enough though the waiter didn't come around often. Due to the high price of drinks, that was probably a good thing as the meal for two (burger & fries and salad for my wife) was over fifty bucks .. oh and one glass of wine and one drink too (house not brand) with tip over seventy bucks .. not something I'd do often but the food was excellent. So for a nice night out with minimal food and drink and great entertainment well over a hundred bucks. For many this is probably just fine. For my pocket book a little above my level but for a special occasion I'm sure it's worth it. Had we chose a 'real' meal and desert it likely would have been closer to a couple of hundred bucks, certainly not in my price range but for those who have deep pockets, I'm sure you'd enjoy Bake's. The only real complaint was the volume of chatter. My wife and I were unable to carry on a conversation. We texted each other ... :(. Still .. A fine night out.
great place for live music! staff is excellent and friendly, highly recommend!
Had a counter seat reserved for two. Due to a cancellation, we were seated front row center for the entertainment. Great band on Valentines Day! Food was exquisite as was the service.
The food was diversified and good. Service was kind of slow toward the middle of the evening and especially when trying to get a check--still didn't have one even after the music ended--had to run down the waiter. The music was excellent!
Great time! Even better music! Petty Fever was off the hook!!! Great venue in Bakes Place! We’ll definitely be back!
Had a wonderful time. Great cocktails, good food, fun music!
I had a really good time, I recommend taking your spouse here for a nice night out, good food, drinks and amazing live music. I will definitely be back!
My only complaint was it took 20 minutes in line even though I had a reservation & there were only two couples before me. Not great if standing for long periods is difficult.
We were there to see a band. When we go we typically have dinner before the show. On this night, there was a truncated show menu available which was a subset of the standard menu. We ordered appetizers, drinks, and entrees. The drinks were well made, the food not so much but it was consistent with our prior visits, average selection, average preparation. The service was inattentive at best, may have been a new person. My advice is go for the music and the booze, there are many better choices for food.
We saw Kalimba, The Spirit of Earth Wind and Fire and they were fantastic. The club is the perfect size—not a bad table in the place and the acoustics are good. Highly recommend.
Fun place with surprisingly good food. I am sure it varies by how crowded it is, but our service was excellent as well. We didn’t plan to stay for he music but are glad we did. We will be back! Had the flat iron steak and the duck, both were excellent.
Sophisticated ambiance, friendly and professional staff, GREAT entertainment
Amazing food and service. The staff are friendly, fun and efficient. Great place to see live music. One of my favorite places.
The food was fabulous: Brussels sprouts for an appetizer (shared) and Chilean sea bass for the main course. For dessert we shared a Grand Mariner creme brûlée. We went for the food, not knowing that it is a performance venue with a stage. We were dubious about the noise level as we wanted to talk and decided if there were too much noise, we would leave, but the duo that played that night played soft rock and it was lovely (Simon & Garfunkel, Beatles, etc.). We stayed for the whole first set. I would definitely come again!
Great music, excellent food, good service! They have live music and the singers are all great. I would recommend this place to everyone. Parking is free and not so crowded, unlike when you go to Seattle.
A wonderful night of good food and fabulous music!
Always a great evening to be had! I have been many times, never been disappointed. A gem on the east side for live music, great service and good food.
Great place to see some live music and have a nice dinner and drinks. Will continue to frequent Bakes Place.
Fun, live music setting. Free, easy parking. Friendly staff, good food, great music, energetic crowd.
Fantastic evening at a great venue!
I loved the taste of my dinner once it was finally served. Patrons arriving much later than we did received their food much sooner. I would say that with such a limited show menu, the food choice I made should have been served much sooner. I had my eye on a different menu item but was allowed only to order from the show menu. Our server was polite, friendly and delightful. We both ordered the chicken dinner. The chicken breast was moist and flavorful! I ate around and under everything to eat all my potatoes because they were so delicious. I typically don’t eat potatoes but Bake’s Place makes some mighty good food. The people sitting at a table beside us also cleaned their plates! Not a crumb was left!! Compliments to the chef!
We loved the live music and the food was great. It was not that busy even on a Friday night - we will be back very soon and will bring friends!
Love the ambiance at Bakes. Food has been hit & miss.
What a great venue. We saw (and heard) first rate entertainment and had an excellent evening. The only thing missing is a dance floor, which would be an improvement. Classy and just-right atmosphere for an evening out. We will frequent this place.
Saw Kalimba. Great place. Had a great view from the counter. Would like to see a show during the summer.
Have seen two bands here recently and felt comfortable and relaxed at both. The sound was great and not too loud...just right. The ambiance was great too. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was OK but not great. I will be going back again. I loved it.
The music, specifically The Side Project, brings us out every time!
Disappointing. The food was pub style but with 5 star pricing.
What a great time at Bakes Place for Lee Oskar. Concert was just fantastic, acoustics wonderful and service really good in a packed house! Can't wait to go again. Best music venue on the East side hands down.
Superb venue for music. Fine sight lines, good sound system, and wonderful artists. Lee Oskar, our most recent artist, was fantastic. Food is OK and can suffer from lots of people ordering at the same time. Some food items were pretty cold when they arrived. Still, the food was tasty. Excellent, attentive server.
The entertainment was great, and it's always a lot of fun. Food is okay and a bit overpriced.
Love this place! Great food, great music events. Staff is very friendly.
just great music, especially Nearly Dan. Food is really good and much closer than Jazz alley (and the food is a lot better)
Great setting with ambiance. Good sound quality for live bands. Good menu selections. Great place to hear quality adult music and enjoy a well prepared meal.
The music is always fantastic , unfortunately the food is fair. Food quality and service were much better in the past . The limited show menu is not very good. We have been twice in 2 weeks and have had both the spinach and Ceasar salads with chicken and both were dripping in dressing and served with dry overcooked chicken . The Shrimp and grits were also dripping in grease. The service also lacked . Not very friendly or attentive.
This is such a great venue and has always been outstanding in the past . Sad to experience the sub par service and food quality.
Just happened to be looking for a place on the eastside with live music 🎶Bakes was discovered!
A great place to enjoy live music almost every day of the week! Loved it,
This venue is one of my favorite. It is an intimate place to go have dinner, and see a great show. This is my second time there and I look forward to going back. Our server was always aware of our needs without being overbearing. It was a wonderful evening.. Thank you Bake's Place!
The music was outstanding. The menu was limited but covered a good spectrum of dishes. Our steaks were served cold as was my wife’s salmon. Food was not served all at the same time, but in three different runs to the kitchen. This may have contributed to lack of heat. But, the dishes were cold on arrival not after waiting. The number of items available was actually smaller than the menu. There were not that many people eating, but we were warned about limited orders of salmon. One of our guest who ordered steak had to change his order as they also ran out of ribeye steak. Our server was pleasant but not very knowledgeable about the menu. He mispronounced one of the wines and had to comeback twice because he kept forgetting the second wine we ordered. The entertainment, Th Coats, made up for much of the other issues with food and service.
