The kitchen seemed to be overwhelmed on a warm week day evening. One of our orders never appeared but the manager came to apologize. The table of 5 next to us had their orders appear in 3 different increments, 10 minutes apart. My pasta was exceptionally delicious and worth the wait. Thet music was great, the weather perfect and the beer cold and delicious! We will return often.
Fabulous good, amazing service and incredible music! New favorite spot!
The live music was loud but a lot of fun. Great venue. Food had some hits and some misses. Service slows down a little after music starts so order food before 9.
We are regular here. Fun and vibrant environment. Different live music bands for different audience taste. Food is always good and cocktail are great.
Bake's is such a fun, vibrant place with great food. And hats off to the Manager, Chris, for taking such good care of his customers.
The service was friendly, although after the music started it was a little slow and sometimes hard to get their attention. Overall, a great intimate venue for live music with decent food and wine/cocktails. The music volume is not too loud so that you can still have a conversation with the person you are sitting with. I really like the atmosphere and have been here several times.
We were visiting from out of town and chose Bake's Place from recommendations on the internet. We instantly appreciated the atmosphere of people, music, food and drinks. A very good vibe. The waiters were attentive and informative and even the owners were involved with keeping the evening flowing (love seeing that). The food was terrific and whiskey drinks were spot- on. We will be back.
My wife and I and another couple went to hear a Latin Jazz Band. First visit, great experience...heading back again for more music and dancing. Great value, free parking,
We had a great night, the music was de best. Good food and great service.
ALWAYS A GREAT EVENING OF MUSIC/FOOD/FRIENDSHIP AND CONVENIECE
Food was ok, service seemed understaffed.
I've been here 3 times with different friends and each time everybody has enjoyed the food and the music, without exception. It's rare to find a place that caters to all tastes, including vegetarian and gluten free. The music has been incredible and the stage backdrop is beautiful. Staff are friendly and professional, even when very busy.
Excellent service, cozy yet fun environment and delicious food!
Chosen for a special occasion, high end, friendly, fun, lively atmosphere with decent live music and spontaneous dancing and good chef quality food not just pub grub.
All were met.
Been twice before and gave both times 5 stars. Only reason for 4 stars this time was that one meal did not arrive.
I’ve been to Bakes MANY times and love it there! It is comfortable with great acoustics and generous wine pours.
The music is always top notch. You can talk before the show without shouting over the table, there is a fine patio with bar service and you can feel the vibrancy of the city.
I do not like the new menu. Everything is too fancy and exotic. They are trying too hard.
Just offer elegant classics instead of odd meats and bone marrow sauces. Thank you.
I love everything else about Bakes..except the kitchen.
First date & cinco de mayo
It was good experience overall. Food was good. No cover fee for live music on weekday.
Great night out, the service was slow and many mistakes where made. The chef did make a custom meal for a guest with a lot of eating restrictions without any problems. I would recommend it as a great venue for dinner and a show. Hopefully you have better luck with service.
Love Bake’s Place! Their outdoor patio area is great & always a good live music venue!
While I realize performance costs may be factored in the meal prices, I was astonished by a price of $31 for top sirloin. Nonetheless, as I wanted steak that evening, I ordered it, despite seeming to recall that top sirloin was a cheap cut I used to buy in college 45 years ago when I was broke. This was borne out when had to slice the received meat into tiny enough pieces to actually consume it. Overall it was awful. As for the waitress, she only checked back once the entire evening, and I had to rely on another waiter to attend to minor requests. I thought this ridiculous, as there were only about 30 customers in the whole place that night. So, service was abysmal.
I will say the performance by Darelle Holden was excellent, the one redeeming factor in an otherwise miserable dining experience.
Simply loved it!!!!😍
Came here on a Thursday evening for happy hour, I had driven by in the past and saw the outdoor seating area and was hoping to enjoy your happy with friends out on the patio. Since it was the first day over 75 degrees in the PNW, I was hoping to be able to sit out and enjoy the sunshine. I made a reservation for 4:30, but was unable to specify that I wanted to sit outside. Upon arrival I saw the patio was full, and asked the hostess if we could grab a table inside and get the next available patio seat. The hostess told me this would not be an issue, and I happily went inside to wait for an open table. We never ended up with an outside table, the hostess forgot our request, and the service during our 3 hour stay was horrific. I will never again be back, no matter how great the outdoor seating is. We waited over 20 minutes for our initial drink and appetizer order to be taken, then waited another 30 minutes for the appetizer. The place was busy, however asking for a straw 3 times is not acceptable. Our waitress would disappear outside not to be seen for 20 minutes. It seems all the focus was on the outdoor seating area and the staff forgot about the people inside.
We had a wonderful time. The Rumba Kings were amazing and the venue is perfect. We liked that it wasn't so large that you couldn't see the stage. Outstanding evening! Thanks!
Visited Bake's Place this past Saturday, for the second time in a month, to see an acoustic NW Tribute band show. It was wonderful! We enjoyed it even more than our first visit. The ambiance, service, and wine list were really good. I am mainly a wine person, but did try a cute little girly cocktail called Garden Clover Club and it was a bit too delicious. I could easily drink a pitcher! The food options are varied with many healthy choices.
The club did an amazing job with this special show and took care of any problems very quickly, which we appreciated.
This was a great venue for celebrating Birthdays!
Our waitress was very informative and helpful we had a great celebration!
Great atmosphere. Music was great. Drinks were great! Food was a little too "creative" for our taste buds.
Great music fun environment, limited but good menu. Live music is fun with limited dance space, sit back from the band, we were too close. Other reviews complained about the cover, it was $16, your in BV, pay it, if you want to see the second show because you had a great time, don’t complain pay it again..... it’s worth it!
Love the music and environment. The food however is an issue. I have severe food allergies and everything is sauced of spiced. I usually order a lettuce wrapped burger with no mayo. I was told the chef will not accept the slightest change order. The issue seemed to be not putting the secret sauce on the hamburger.
We dine out constantly and was shocked at the zero exceptions allowed for medical food issues.
The previous visit I tried the scallops & ended up sick because of the seasoning & or sauce.
Always enjoy the great music, food is good and the parking is easy.
Bakes never disappoints! The best room for live music, food and beverage on the Eastside.
Our first visit to Bake's Place...overall the venue was fine, the music was good. The food was okay. Duck tacos were good, but the pink scallops were mediocre, the fingerling potatoes seemed to be missing, the scallops tasted like clams and though it says $23 online, $24 on the menu, we were charged $26. Hmmm. Probably would go back for the music only, not for dinner.
Bake's reminds me of Dimitriou's Jazz Alley, but smaller. Service was excellent. Food and drink were very good...maybe a little expensive...but included a live 2 hour set from a quality trio. (There was no cover charge the night we went.) We will be watching the calendar for upcoming performers.
Great venue for listening to live music! Food choices are a little bit limited and it is not a cheap place on Fridays and Saturdays. There is a cover on those days. Having said that we had a great time listening to the band with friends. Worth the cover charge!
Very nice place, outstanding service, if you like the combination of live music, good food, and romance this is a fun place. The only negative was that we paid a cover to get in ($32 for 2 people)with a live band is totally understandable, but when the band was done and we paid our $150 bill, it was expected that we pay another cover charge to stay..Was a little taken back by that one to be honest, just keep that in mind.
Great place, good food, and terrific live music. Enjoy!
This is an outstanding music venue. I have never seen a bad band there yet. The food is always tasty and they offer some great interesting drinks/cocktails. It is classy, cool and groovy. I would schedule dinner towards the 8 pm hour as music starts at 9. I go there often, and will continue to do so. :)
We went for St Patrick's day celebration. The service was extremely slow. The food was awful and tasteless and the music was also awful and they acted like they had never played with each other before. Not very Irish except for the fiddle player. Sounded like a jam session. Embarrassed for the out of state friend we brought.
