We didn’t get served and the food was cold and old tasting..loved it once but won’t be back again
Amazing champagne brunch - excellent service by Chris and the food was delicious - I love the ambiance of this mansion - it made me feel happy to be there and I had fun trying on those hats
Great brunch experience. Phenomenal food and ambiance
Food was great. Service was great. The setting was great. If you are looking for Sjunday Brunch in Lake Geneva, you to give Baker House a try. It is well worth it.
We went there for the fist time and were a little concerned about the price point but we were very pleased with all we received. The ambiance was beautiful. The food was amazing. The service was outstanding.
Very cool. We were looking for a Sunday brunch date and this was a sweet find. Any other place I would have said this was overpriced, but the atmosphere and ambiance , service and selection just made it an over the top super morning and totally worth it. They really so keep the champagne coming. Generally I don't take time to write a review but this place really is a sure thing for Sunday Brunch
Awesome brunch. Our server Chris was amazing!
Perfect in every way!
Fantastic, real good service
Very pleasant surprise. It was a champagne brunch. The bananas foster French toast was amazing.
Great location, good food, hospitable staff. The staff should maybe mention all the hats on display can be tried on and maybe encourage the patrons to have some fun and take photos with them. Our host and server didn't mention this to us.
Amazing experience. Sunday brunch was awesome nothing but positive things to say.
Our server Chris was phenomenal! Can’t wait to be back!!!
Fantastic way to end 2017!
Was very lovely. Service and staff very friend. Food was delicious.
We made a last minute reservation after having walked passed this extraordinary house and it proved to be one of the BEST brunches we have ever experienced. Thank you!
My friends and I were in Lake Geneva for my birthday and we decided to do the Sunday brunch at the Baker House. It was SUCH a fun brunch! They have a huge buffet with great food options, the server was constantly topping off our champagne, the ambiance was perfect, and we all got to pick a fun hat to wear while we ate! Whenever I make it back to Lake Geneva I'll definitely be back at the Baker House.
Fun place to eat with great atmosphere and history.
We went for Sunday brunch. The food was all delicious and there was a great variety. The champagne was unlimited, but was pretty sweet, we would have rather had mimosas. Our large group all enjoyed putting on the hats and our waitress encouraged us to change hats each time we got another plate of food, so we each had 3 different hats throughout brunch. Our groups favorite foods were the banana foster, chicken and dumpling soup, tortellini salad and apple bread pudding.
Great food! Good selection, especially for unlimited mimosas. Fun to wear the cute historical hats while you dine too.
We enjoy the setting of Baker House. We especially enjoy taking family and friends for a delightful get together. The historic nature of the house and its location on Geneva Lake make for to total experience.
Love this Place lots of fun really creative great service and food
Really enjoyed the ambiance. The food was wonderful and the service was great!
They had me at ‘unlimited Champagne and eggs benedict’!
My best friend and I celebrated the beginning of my birthday with brunch at Baker House. Our server was charming and delightful, the brunch selection was lovely and the ambiance is perfect! My favorite part? Picking out a hat (or many as we chose to do) to wear during our visit! A great way to start your day.
We booked a trip to lake Geneva based on Open Tables rating of the Baker house as a top place for brunch, we were extremely disappointed. The house is beautiful but the food was lacking. We had a hard time finding hash browns in the hash brown casserole and same with the spinach and artichoke dip, all cream with no flavor. We were expecting more fresh food and a carving station but almost everything is pre made and kept warm in a Schafer. This was suppose to be the perfect end to a relaxing weekend away and we left feeling blah. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
This was a great restaurant under previous owners, as St. Moritz, and later, as Gilbert's. This time, our first time at the venue as Baker House, not so much. Arrived 15 minutes early, prepared to wait for our table. "Chef Bill" greeted us with an admonishing air. "You're early" he said, as though we'd spat in the soup. Hostess was more polite. Chef Bill's arrogance was not earned. Sunday brunch, at $32 per person, was not a good value. Eggs Benedict overcooked. French toast was hard on the outside. Bananas Foster, gluey. Bagels & lox listed on the buffet, but no lox on the table. Dip, but nothing to dip into it. Soup, almost gone, down to the bare bottom of the tureen. What was left was bland. Bouef bourgignon, boring. Thin selection of desserts. Had to wait a long time for coffee (eventually served by another waitress, after we hailed her), and no cream was provided. (I took the pitcher, myself, from a recently vacated, unbussed table.) Pretty chinaware, but coffee was served in a plain mug, like at a cheap diner. Yes, there was unlimited champagne, served in the tiniest of coupes. It was decent--about what one would expect for a champagne included with lunch. Fine old landmark house, but decor was overdone. Ugly and hokey waitstaff uniforms reminiscent of 1920's bathing suits. Lovely view from the veranda, but front yard now cluttered with ugly gazebo and other lawn furniture. What was an elegant venue and a great culinary experience under past management is now a cheap imitation, better suited to Disneyland than to a venue that is on the National Historic Register. Nice that the historic name is restored, but this restaurant does not honor it. My lunch guest was someone who'd previously been to St. Moritz and Gilbert's with me. She was also disappointed. We both wished we'd gone down the street to Popeye's. Even Egg Harbor would have been a more satisfying choice. Pretension isn't worth the price, when the food and service are mediocre, at best. Won't be back.
We stayed at the Baker House to celebrate our 5 year Anniversary where we got married on the wonderful Lake Geneva.
Brunch was absolutely amazing. So many options. I had a made to order omelette and my husband had a made to order eggs Benedict. Delicious sides, cheesy hash browns, smoked bacon, biscuits and gravy. Chocolate fondue, bananas foster French toast!! These were our favorites, but there were three rooms of food options. You had choices of breakfast, lunch, and dessert items. We will come back year for sure.
Wonderful as always!
The food was delicious and the service very good. We also had reservations for the Murder Mystery and it was super fun. It is a must see. I highly recommend the Baker House.
What a fun place. Don't be in a hurry. Sit back, relax and enjoy the experience. The food was very flavorful. There were 3 of us so we ordered all 3 entrees -Beef short ribs, salmon wellington and spinach & cheese ravioli. Well worth the price per person. Great step back in time.
Not very good food but quite pretentious. Special menu anything but. Cheese appeared to be CheezWhiz and most of the rest of meal was consistent. With only 3 choices for entrees service managed to bring 2 wrong orders.
I loved it all. Small menu, but perfect. My husband was without water twice, and he was bummed about that, but other than that, we had fun, and relaxed with some good food.
The best part was the web site and the view of the the lake. We really were looking forward to the evening. Unfortunately, the food was terrible and tasteless! The service was well matched to the food! Will never go again!!
We had brunch at Baker House on a Sunday morning. Baker House is actually a historic Lake Geneva home that is right across from the water. The setting is truly special. There are both breakfast items and lunch/dinner items on the buffet - which is spread out between two rooms. The food and the selection were both good but neither were outstanding. The dessert options are very limited.
Loved the place especially the hats for men and women to wear! Great ambience.
Baker House is a must for all Lake Geneva tourists! The ambience & service is terrific! We've had their Sunday brunch & Sunset Experience & loved both!
Always a wonderful experience! Celebrated my son's engagement! Best place ever to do it! Well be back!
We did the champagne brunch to celebrate our anniversary. The food was amazing. We loved the different options and I've been telling all my friends about it.
Not just a great meal but soooo much fun! Great hospitality and staff are informed and fun!
First time there. The food was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Great view over looking Lake Geneva. It was a very enjoyable experience.
Such a fun place for Sunday brunch. Yummy food and unlimited champagne.
