About
We found the food to be mediocre, not terrible, but nothing great. Service was good, but the place was empty. We sat outside which we would usually enjoy, but it is a very noisy corner. The house beer was delicious.
Everything we ate was good. Wish I had tried the crab cakes.
Good location but the food was very mediocre. Service was just OK.
Went for lobster rolls but ended up having that as well as a special order of excellent mussels. Definitely will recommend. Everyone was very friendly, attentive and genuinely nice. Great choice for our lunch date.
Fries were GREAT. Fish sandwich was OK. They accidentally gave us a pitcher of salt water and my friend drank. Were not able to offer much of a reason why and only offered free shots. Should have comped the meal or at least drinks. Disappointing and overall odd.
It was my first time here, was craving seafood. Tried the crab ravioli - it was okay wasnt great. It tasted store bought to be honest. The wait staff at first seemed very attentive and great but then would disappear and didnt come back for a while. The kicker though, they sat a group of 3 with a dog next to us. I usually dont mind at all but this time - the dogs hair was flying all over our table and one even landed in my eye and my drink!! i was completely disgusted and stopped eating and drinking. Not sure i would ever go back again and definitely will be sharing this story with friends.
Food was terrible. Service was just as bad. The staff literally stood over our shoulders and looked at the check as we wrote out the tip and signed the receipt.
If you like terribly cooked seafood go somewhere that's cheaper like Red Lobster. At least at Red Lobster they give you biscuits and the Rose isn't warm (probably)
Just love my service
Love this place! The seafood was super fresh and we loved the vibe of the place! We will return.
Went there for brunch - the coffee machine was broken and they didn't have pancakes (although their online menu indicated they would have). The sliders came with only 2 little burgers - most have 3-4. To top this off, they tried to charge the brunch price of $25 for the bottomless drinks to someone who only had the meal. The service was so-so, this was suprising given we (4 ppl) were the only ones there for about an hour. This place reminds me of a dive bar (without the dive bar ambiance) that wants to be more...
We went for Happy Hour and the oysters were excellent.
Wine was real good considering it was H2.
Would recommend!
Good food. No ambiance. Poor lighting.
I had a great meal, but I'm not sure if I was credited for the dining points. Can you please ensure that happens?
We reserved a table for an Eagles game. Bar was packed with birds fans. It's a small space so you are packed in and the servers do everything they can to get to you from walking in from the outside windows to squeezing between tables. But it was a great experience and I'd happily go back for another game or just to enjoy the food.
Was there on Taco Tuesday. Had fish tacos. Were yummy. As well as the shrimp and grits. Nice size wine drinks for happy hour. Service very attentive. Would definitely go back
Food is well below average. Terrible if you consider the price. Wait staff felt like it was all the first time they've ever done it. Went for an Eagles game, no reason to ever go back.
My first there and I was impressed with the happy hour menu
This place is easy to get to, fish & chips very tasty, and liked that there were some good salad options as well. Oysters were fresh and a great happy hour price, only wish the wine serving had been a bit more generous.
I really loved this place. The oysters were so fresh, the crab dip was really good and the mini burgers were very tasty. I'd definitely recommend this spot.
We have been wanting to try this place for the longest time! The food was really great, as well as their drink selection. We got the clam strips as an app- a must get! I had a fish sandwich and my boyfriend had the fish & chips. We both enjoyed our meals- the fries were delicious! We went on a Friday night and apparently there was a huge soccer game the staff wanted to watch, so it was blasting the entire we were there. I usually don't mind sports being on in the background, but we had to tell them to turn the volume down more than once because everyone around us was complaining. We're hoping this was just a one time issue, as everything else was really great and we would give it another try!
Tacos were great! Went on "Taco Tuesday" and was a great deal! Chicken tacos were yummy and we asked for the fish tacos to not be fried and they were really good too. Wish they had a better rośe by the glass.
Had a blast last Friday when we hosted my birthday dinner there, staff is simply awesome and nice, seated all 9 of us and even gave me 3 birthday surprises.
Will go back again for sure, I am a seafood lover and all the dishes looked and tasted great.
Went for fish and chips, one wine and one beer and w/tax & tip was $70. The chips were good, but not outstanding and the fish seemed prepackage and dumped in oil and had a roundish rectangular shape, not that of a fillet. Likely won't return.
The first time I was here service and food was good. This time around not so much...not sure what was going on. So embarrassed to bring friends here and end up with less than par experience this time... our server kept forgetting someone's drink - then finally told that they don't have the drink...seriously? then takes a long time to come back with a cup of hot tea. asked server to take our order and he had to run off again to grab a pen and paper. asked if the seabass special had any bones - he said no. 5 people ordered seabass and 4 dishes had b/w 3-10 bones each. Have had much better seabass elsewhere...really embarrassed given the last time was much better. Not sure if the manager was there or not.. but within less than 2 months service went downhill on a Friday no less.
aside from the st. pat's pub crawl and the din it created.
service and food is excellent.
They were very accommodating in seating our party of 4. The food was great, fish was phenomenal and they were attentive with a full place on a Friday night.
I just had dinner at Bait & Hook on Friday night, part of a group of 6. While the restaurant does not have a big space, they were able to accommodate us comfortably on one end. There was no reservation for 7pm, so I made one for 6:45. Two members of the party arrived very early (~6:15) and were able to be seated for happy Hour, which was great, esp. since one of them is pregnant. They were both cold, so they were able to have a nice cup of tea and some Happy Hour small plates while they waited for us. The rest of us were late for the reservation, but the restaurant was very nice and did not give us grief about this. The food was really delicious -- we had kung pao calamari (excellent), crab cakes, fish & chips (huge portion), lobster risotto, and shrimp & grits (huge shrimp). Nice beer/drinks list. The prices were reasonable, esp. for the Union Square area. Our waiter was great -- friendly and accommodating to our party coming in at different times. I definitely plan to go back!
The fish sandwich and clam chowder are very good, but other items were just ok, including the lobster Mac and cheese, which was bland, and the shrimp tacos, which weren't fresh. It was a bit disappointing.
Went with a large group – very accommodating, food was great as were the prices & drinks
My boyfriend is a huge Eagles fan, so this was a perfect spot to grab some dinner and drinks while he watched the Eagles game with a bar full of other Eagles fans. Seafood options were great, fun atmosphere, expect to be seated at a high top to watch sports.
We made our rez very last minute. But that's no excuse for their not having a table for us upon our arrival. There were 2 four tops and 2 deuces available, but we had to sit at the bar.
The place is very very casual, extremely loud, with 8 television sets. Not a place to go for epic food or conversation. It's basically a loud bar with bar food. That being said the lettuce wedge with bacon and fried onion was fun. The bar tender attentive. And the bill wasn't bad.
Fantastic & fresh seafood. Come for $1 taco Tuesday or $1 oyster Thursday - the food is really good and the service is warm and attentive. We love this place!
Didn't go here on a Tuesday, but wish we did. Tacos are great - we especially loved the fish one! Vibe is a little weird - can be intimate but can also be loud, depending on the night. Overall, good but wouldn't come out of our way to grab a bite here.
There was a christmas bar crawl happening when we showed up here. Didn't know that was happening or wouldn't have made the reservation.
The Monday Night Mussels are a great deal. I could have made a meal out of those alone, but am glad I ordered the organic salmon as well. Service was friendly.
I had a great time singing along with the 80s while devouring my scallop roll. One son had fish and chips, another the burger with bacon and my husband had the cod. We all shared because we could not decide who had the best plate. Service is a little odd but they are there and they do their best to please. We will be back and would recommend.
I was in the mood for a lobster roll after spending the day at GrubStreet food fest, so my boyfriend and I tried Bait and Hook that Sunday night. The ambiance wasn't my personal preference- I was hoping for something more romantic and elegant and this place is definitely more laid back and bar-ish- which is totally fine, just not what I was looking for that day! The staff was super friendly and prompt, the food was delicious and served quickly, and it wasn't expensive. The crab and artichoke dip was one of the best I've ever had.
Food was ok. Clam chowder was extremely salty. The lobster Mac n cheese was so so. It tasted ok, but was thin cream based not super cheesy and they used rotini pasta. The crab cakes were good, but could have been warmer in the center. I was a little bit afraid that it wasn't thoroughly cooked. But it was mostly all crab meet which was good.
Great restaurant right in the neighborhood. Fabulous fried clam strips and pan-roasted fish sandwich. Excellent service and excellent food quality.
They recently turned this place more into a bar/frat club rather than a restaurant which is a shame as it was one of my go-to seafood places. There was football on the day we went and it was full of people drinking towers of Bud and the music was so loud - seriously loud, like a nightclub on a Saturday night - that we couldn't hear each other speak over lunch.
The food, as always, was good but the atmosphere and noise levels means I'll likely not go back. This place needs to decide what it wants to be or at least warn people of the "scene". We expected a lunch where we could hold a conversation.
