A visit to our house is a unique way to relax and enjoy life's simple pleasures as well as our treasures from the sea. The word Bagatelle comes from the French and means "a trifle or a little nothing", often referring to a light, fun, yet not too serious spring time romance. The French brought their history of fine cuisine and their love of wine to the Caribbean Islands. It is in this tradition that we have combined our French heritage, southern hospitality and the indigenous tastes of the Florida Keys into the meals we prepare today. Our chefs blend the best of our locally caught fresh seafood, fresh produce and delicious tropical fruits for our tropical seafood dishes.

Bagatelle Ratings and Reviews
Very disappointed that the kale Caesar had no kale in it. Fried snapper was ok but veggies were overcooked. When our starters were brought, the soup for one person was missing (group of six) and it took more than five minutes to flag someone down to ask for it. Server was very nice.
This restaurant came highly recommended by some friends. Even though we thought the service was great and we enjoyed the location; but we did not think the food was as good as several other restaurants we have eaten at in town. The lobster Mac appetizer was tasty, but my wife kept asking where the lobster was. Could say much the same about the soup.
Went for brunch, food and prices are fantastic. Mimosas slightly pricey, but food prices were great. I wouldn’t suggest going here with a large group. We had 8 for brunch and the server wouldn’t split the check. When we sat down, we asked if the checks could be split and he told us yes. An hour later an interesting comment was made about being too busy (I say interesting due to the way it was made and the tone) and we could split it ourselves. For a nice dining experience and for a table that spent well over $300 at brunch, it’s a shame that management would overload their servers to the point where they are too busy to take 3 minutes to split a check. Our server had no less than 5 tables plus our table of 8. I would return with a smaller group, but certainly wouldn’t with a large group for any reason.
We have gone to Bagatelle’s for many years. The service had started to drop off last year, and was even worse this year. Our server, Merlin, was less than attentive even though the wait for appetizers was well over 40 minutes. When we ask the manager for assistance, our waitress came back to the table with a major attitude and eye roll with every question granted it was New Year’s Day, but if you can’t handle the load, close rather than having your reputation damaged.
We told you it was out 25th anniversary....ooops you forgot I guess. We understand it was New Years Eve BUT our food all of it was service cold asked for some additional sauce which also was service ice cold. We did expect to have a great meal it’s was very disappointing.
Absolutely amazing! Service was fantastic! My husband and I enjoyed Christmas Day brunch at Bagatelle. I had the lobster omelette and my husband had the biscuits and gravy— both were outstanding! We can’t wait to come back for lunch and try the lobster grilled cheese! Yum!!
Thoroughly enjoyed Bagatelle. It was our first time and the entire experience was wonderful. Food was exceptional, service was impeccable and the atmosphere was fantastic. We sat outside on the upper balcony which was quiet, yet we could enjoy all of the activity on Duval Street. Wonderful!
This wasn’t our first trip to Bagatelle. It’s been a regular stop for us when in Key West for years.
This time it was a disappointing visit. Party of four and three of us were disappointed with our food. At best, it was mediocre. The service was fine but the food quality has seriously dropped off.
It's as if the Bagatellle we ate at last year was not the same restaurant. It was Thanksgiving again and we were looking forward to the same special meal, and excellent service we had enjoyed last year. It wasn't to be.
Arriving a little earlier than our reservation time, we were greeted by a bit of a surly attitude. It became clear when we asked to be seated elsewhere than the outside table we had been shown (I don't ever do that) things were going to be very different. The surly attitude became "their way or the highway" approach. Who needs that?
It was Thanksgiving, what other choice did we have but to stay?
The meals were good enough - I had the Turkey dinner (moist meat, so-so mashed potatoes, cranberry relish ; while my partner had the Hogfish. I know, don't ask. He thought it was good and enjoyed it.
Let's review, surly attitude at the door, an overworked waiter with a large station, not able to give the best service. The attitude and the waiter problem are bad restaurant decisions that we paid the price for. Particularly on a busy day like Thanksgiving.
I don't think we'll be coming back. Maybe everything would have been better if they had cut back on the attitude, and, at least, tried to reseat us, as we asked, upstairs. After all we were only a table for 2.
Sorry Bagatelle, YOU need an attitude adjustment.
Went with family of 4 for Thanksgiving dinner. They had a traditional turkey dinner meal option among other regular dishes. Since it was Thanksgiving, we opted for the turkey which was delicious. The raspberry, pear gargonzola salad was awesome with a lot of fresh raspberries and very tasty. We were on the porch upstairs; it was great!
