We wanted a special evening and we were not disappointed! Saw a blurb on the Key West Channel, and the restaurant peaked my interest. The service was flawless. The wine selection was varied and affordable. The 4 of us all had different appetizers, entrees and desserts, and there were raves all around. For pepper lovers, you must try the mussels with cognac cream sauce!
Took over five minutes to get a glass of water or greeting from wait staff. Wine pour not very generous. Food fresh and tasty, wedge salad less than creative. Upstairs porch looked lovely to sit in although we were inside.
Mia, our waitress was excellent, however the food was just OK. Two of us had hogfish, it was bland and had some bones in it. The mango salsa was tasty that came with the fish. Two of us had grilled lobster tail, it was good but nothing special. We did enjoy the key lime pie for dessert. The ambience was probably the best part as it was a warm evening and sitting outside was grand. Mia was very personable and had a classy way about her. She definitely made the dining experience enjoyable.
Wanted a date night while we were in town and this did the trick. Sat on the upper balcony and had the best of both Key West worlds - a quiet atmosphere while still being part of the energy rising up from duval street. You can hear Hog's Breath entertainment clearly on the balcony, and luckily it was a mix of tunes we enjoyed. Staff was friendly, easygoing, and attentive.
Nicely done: lamb lollipops, bbq shrimp
Ok: Mussels (sauce was good at the time, but bit too peppery and aftertaste later that night)
Not so much: key lime pie (overdone, brown meringue, dark crust), likely just a bad pie as our neighbor's looked better 10 minutes earlier.
Overall... worth a taste and the atmosphere is casual but beachy-classy.
Great seafood! We had the Grouper special but I also like the whole Red Snapper.
Great location great food great service and great night
Fantastic meal. We brought fresh catch from our fishing trip and they prepared it perfectly for us.
The food was excellent! Our server Alec was attentive and friendly.
Excellent place! Enjoyed our dinner so much we went back the next day for breakfast!
Excellent food and wine list! We will def be back! The wait staff was also amazing.
It was not bad, food was ok but the service was not great.
Awesome crab cakes, probably the best we have had. Bar b que shrimp were also great.
Food was good but not great. Well-prepared and nicely presented by attentive staff. No complaints, just sort of on the high-end for what you get.
Service was excellent. We were seated promptly at the requested table. The salads were excellent but the fish and lamb were way over cooked.
Great dinner, sweet waitress. We recommend the Bagatelle.
Great place ! Best in Key West.
The lobster mac and cheese was wonderful. Rich but not overwhelming.
Food and service was spot on. Key Lime pie was delicious.
Service was excellent. Prompt and friendly. Bagatelle is in a great location. Some tables are better than others. We were in the tree tops and the weather was perfect. Our Japanese friend especially enjoyed his seafood.
We have up and downs and Bagatell and the other evening was definitely up. The service was great, it was not too crowded, and the food was great!
What a great spot and feel for the old Key West, Florida dining. Our food was served hot and was delicious in this lovely restaurant. We dined upstairs, which gave us a super view of Duval Street, along with a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely return on our next visit to Key West.
Food was excellent, though it did take a while to come out.
The restaurant is on Duval St in Key West, so there is street noise and music from neighboring places. So, to be expected. The kitchen had a disaster the night we were there and they told us when we arrived. That said, our server was delightful, our food eventually arrived sooner than anticipated and all was good with a nice offer for a glass of wine or dessert on the house for the wait. Pricey but a nice restaurant, so no surprise.
The food was very good. Service was excellent, and the wine list and beer offerings were good. The major defect is that sitting outside on the lovely porch subjects you to a mishmash of loud music from multiple sources, resulting in a constant, annoying din. It's not really the fault of the restaurant, but the dissonance is so irritating that we probably won't return.
My wife and I have been to Bagatelle for both brunch and dinner. Sat at a table on the balcony , overlooking Duvall Street both times. Waiters were well informed and attentive, the food was outstanding; more than worth the price.
Food as usual was very good. Service was not as good as normal probably because we were close to the bar.
Great food, great service. I would recommend it to everyone. The patio's allow you to watch everyone going by
We were referred by a local to this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. The bartender was not attentive at all as we sat at the bar to get a drink while we waited on our table to be ready. Had we known they had outdoor seating and the music across the street was going to be on the entire time we ate, we would have totally passed. I feel as though when making reservations and upon checking in, the option of indoor or outdoor dining should have been presented. If I wanted the "bar" atmosphere - trust me there would be plenty to choose from. Food was okay and unfortunately probably the worst of all the places we ate during our week stay at Sunset Key. Maybe brunch is better because that is what 2 others raved about- but we could only make time for dinner.
I loved the style of this place. Old victorian building updated, however, the charm was kept true to the 1800's. We sat upstairs on the balcony - would highly recommend, weather permitting, sitting up on the balcony with a fantastic view of Duval Street's nightlife.
The food was delicious, fresh, and creative. The wine list was also really special - Wonderful glasses from very affordable yummy choices to extravagant. Our service was spectacular.
We highly recommend this restaurant. Everything we ordered was fantastic! We especially loved the mussel appetizer with warm bread for dipping in the sauce.
The staff is professional and friendly. We are definitely coming back.
My wife and I first met at Bagatelle 18 years ago, so it is a special place for us. We dine there every time we are in Key West. The food, service and ambiance have always been delightful, and this visit was no exception.
Katie was our server and she was terrific. All of her recommendations were amazing. The food was excellent, specifically the broiled lobster tail and banana bread pudding. We had a lovely time.
We had a wonderful Sunday brunch. The Benedict choices were many as were the omelettes. Coffee was robust and hardy that kept you requesting more! Sitting up on the porch of a turn of the century home looking out over Duval Street was a breathtakingly beautiful scene with the people milling about going here and there and nowhere! My wife and I are looking forward to our next dining experience at this wonderful restaurant.
Great open porch dining right on a great people watching street (duval st) food was great. Service excellent. Price was right!
Great, we loved !
My only complaint was that the chairs on the deck were not that comfortable. The food was superb
Great time at the Bagatelle the other night. We had asked for a seat outside on the deck overlooking Duval Street and we seated right where we had requested -- without having to remind the staff of our request. The food and service were very good and we really enjoyed having a nice quiet meal while overlooking the loud and lively scene on Duval Street right below us.
My husband and I hate it when we love a restaurant, then take guests to it only to have it become a disappointment. Thankfully, this did not happen last night!
My family was in town visiting, and we celebrated my dad's 87th birthday with 5 other family members on the balcony at Bagatelle's. He is quite the foodie and found his local lobster dish delectable. For myself, it is rare that I can order a high-mercury fish having eaten these species over-abundantly in the past, giving myself mercury poisoning! Really! I had to go completely off all such fish for six months, and even after, now have to limit myself to only about once a month to keep my system within normal limits. I took the risk and ordered the swordfish. What a tremendous treat. It was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was fantastic. Everyone agreed it was worth it. Goodbye swordfish, cobia, grouper, etc, for another month; the memory of those bites of swordfish at Bagatelle will keep me satisfied.
We scored the nicest table in the house - the big round one in the the corner of the balcony overlooking Duval. Wow! We also happened to score the best server- Mya (sorry if this is the wrong spelling). She is knowledgeable about the preparations, extremely pleasant, and completely genuine.
Thank you Bagatelle for another great dining experience.
Delicious food, wine and great atmosphere! A must try!
Food was excellent! Cesar salad, tuna tartar, and lamb lolipops were all good. Hog fish fillet was outstanding. Key lime pie delicious too. Overall a great place. Went with the kids this time and their linguine alfredo was delicious. However, I love this place for a romantic dinner better. Outside tables are overlooking Duval are the best!
