A visit to our house is a unique way to relax and enjoy life's simple pleasures as well as our treasures from the sea. The word Bagatelle comes from the French and means "a trifle or a little nothing", often referring to a light, fun, yet not too serious spring time romance. The French brought their history of fine cuisine and their love of wine to the Caribbean Islands. It is in this tradition that we have combined our French heritage, southern hospitality and the indigenous tastes of the Florida Keys into the meals we prepare today. Our chefs blend the best of our locally caught fresh seafood, fresh produce and delicious tropical fruits for our tropical seafood dishes.

Bagatelle Ratings and Reviews
This wasn’t our first trip to Bagatelle. It’s been a regular stop for us when in Key West for years.
This time it was a disappointing visit. Party of four and three of us were disappointed with our food. At best, it was mediocre. The service was fine but the food quality has seriously dropped off.
It's as if the Bagatellle we ate at last year was not the same restaurant. It was Thanksgiving again and we were looking forward to the same special meal, and excellent service we had enjoyed last year. It wasn't to be.
Arriving a little earlier than our reservation time, we were greeted by a bit of a surly attitude. It became clear when we asked to be seated elsewhere than the outside table we had been shown (I don't ever do that) things were going to be very different. The surly attitude became "their way or the highway" approach. Who needs that?
It was Thanksgiving, what other choice did we have but to stay?
The meals were good enough - I had the Turkey dinner (moist meat, so-so mashed potatoes, cranberry relish ; while my partner had the Hogfish. I know, don't ask. He thought it was good and enjoyed it.
Let's review, surly attitude at the door, an overworked waiter with a large station, not able to give the best service. The attitude and the waiter problem are bad restaurant decisions that we paid the price for. Particularly on a busy day like Thanksgiving.
I don't think we'll be coming back. Maybe everything would have been better if they had cut back on the attitude, and, at least, tried to reseat us, as we asked, upstairs. After all we were only a table for 2.
Sorry Bagatelle, YOU need an attitude adjustment.
Went with family of 4 for Thanksgiving dinner. They had a traditional turkey dinner meal option among other regular dishes. Since it was Thanksgiving, we opted for the turkey which was delicious. The raspberry, pear gargonzola salad was awesome with a lot of fresh raspberries and very tasty. We were on the porch upstairs; it was great!
We had promised friends who had not been to KW in a number of years a Sunday Breakfast of bananas foster french toast to die for. The place we had in mind closed permanently so I went on line to see who else did that dish and Bagatelle came up. Four of us ordered it and each person made representations about their love of it more extravagant than the next. if the chef would just add some pecan or walnut pieces I'd consider the plate Nirvahna! Service was prompt, friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. Sitting on the front porch made for interesting view as Duval Street came alive for the day. We do KW frequently and look forward to going back for dinner.
Love the atmosphere. Service somewhat slow, though servers were not unfriendly. Steak had no flavor. Margarita was too sour and salty for my taste. Banana bread pudding for dessert very good. Coffee came out warm, not hot. Next time will go for happy hour at the bar.
$15 crab cake appetizer was mostly cake and very little crab. $12 shot of gin with ice was mostly ice. Crab cake was barely warm. Both main courses were also cold and had to be returned. Pork was dry and bland. Both plates looked like they had been prepared for some time and microwaved. Will not go back.
Excellent service and attention by Kim and other restaurant staff.
Always crave the whole fish entree, as well several appetizer choices and salads.
Beer, wine and cocktails always intriguing - Kim was generous to help us make multiple selections during our visit !!
Always a winner and we will be back soon - fortunate for locals and island visitors !!
Definitely the best meal we had in Key West. The atmosphere and ambiance was really awesome. Dressy/Resort casual. We had the Hogfish, Filet, fried artichokes & Tuna Titaki. Everything was awesome!! Nice wine selection. We definitely recommend Bagatelle when you're in Key West!!
