Backfin Blues

Our party of 5 had a reservation at 6. We sat near the front windows which was fine except for the proximity to the speakers. We requested twice to have the music moderated. Waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Two of us had the blackened scallop over mushroom sauce; it was excellent. Others tried the barramundi, stuffed shrimp with crab imperial and crabcake. All plates were all but licked clean! Lobster bisque was also very good but I personally would have liked it a bit more creamy.

Loved it! Food was amazing and we had great service. Definitely coming back.

Please improve the ventilation of the cooking area. Our clothes smelled like the kitchen when we left.

We went with friends on New Year's Eve for dinner. As always, the food and service were outstanding! I love Backfin Blues!

We had a very large party for New Years Eve - 30 people. Although we go there all the time and always receive excellent service and food we did not expect the same on this holiday due to the size of our party and the fact that they were super crowded. Well, Sarah and Gretchen and the entire kitchen staff were amazing! Our drinks and food came out quickly and efficiently and was of.course delicious as always! Also, it should be noted that two of the individuals have food allergies and they always take extra care to ensure there are no issues.

The food was always excellent, as usual. Chef Bob always makes our food just as we order it (which has some differences from the standard menu), due to dietary issues and preferences. Thank you Chef Bob!!

This place never disappoints.

Ask to sit in the back dining room. We were sat near the door and people were constantly going in and out letting the cold air blow in on us. People would go outside to smoke again letting the cold air and smoke blow in. One person even left the door open. The service and food were the highlights and had we sat in the back away from the door it would have been fantastic.

The food is good and made fresh you can tell. Our server was friendly. I wasn’t thrilled with our seat. Sitting along the kitchen wall is so loud. Be sure to ask to not sit there and you should be fine. Hot crab dip, wedge salad and salmon dish were good.

This is by far our favorite restaurant, everything about it is top notch. We’ve been coming here since it opened many years ago and have never had one complaint.

As always Backfin is fantastic. The food was amazing. I wish my body could survive eating Filet Mignon Eggs Benedict and broken potatoes every day. Bob and his staff provide excellent and friendly service. I would recommend Backfin (and Creole DeGraw) to anyone for brunch, lunch, and dinner!

Always a great time dining here and enjoying the friendliness of the staff. The menu changes regularly and seasonally.
The calamari appetizer is fantastic as they are flash friend and melt in your mouth tender. The oysters imperial were perfectly cooked and the jumbo crab imperial was amazing.
I've been a fan of them since they opened and their quality of food and service have never faltered. Chef Bob has a winning combination and continues to improve year after year.

Kate as always gave us great service. The food was delicious and the drinks hit the spot.

The reason I did not give a 5 on Service is because of the wait time for food. But our table understands that the food is cooked fresh and the wait time may be a bit longer and once the food is received, is it ALWAYS delicious!

Prices have skyrocketed and portions are much smaller....the lamb chops were awful

We met friends we haven't seen in several years for brunch on Sunday. They live in Philadelphia and we live in Northern Virginia. So we picked a place that was about half way between us. Everything about Backfin was perfect for our mini-reunion. Their Sunday brunch menu is fabulous, the service was great, the food was scrumptious, and the price was very reasonable. All that, and the town is very nice, so we went for a nice walk after brunch. All-in-all, a perfect day!! Thanks, Backfin.

Always one of my favorite restaurants. The Chef is remarkable. The Hunter Duo was delicious. The bbq rabbit was the best I have ever eaten. It was smokey and the bbq sauce was perfect. The duck was cooked flawlessly and melted in my mouth. Cocktails are always on point. We were so full there was no room for dessert this trip. Thanks again Backfin Blues for your attention to small details that make a meal incredible.

Everything was great. The omelets are the best I have ever had and the shrimp Lijon is always perfect. The service was very friendly and we were happy to see Kate’s daughter is back.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Made comfortable on a cool evening out on the back deck with heaters. Food was amazing and service great. Would recommend you don’t put a table right outside of men’s restroom door - but also understand the inside is a quaint older establishment with tighter spaces. Nicely done Bluefin Blues - we’ll be back!

The food is exquisite with a very nice selection of appetizers. The portions are enough to bring some home for the next day.
The staff is very attention and welcoming. I highly recommend this place as well as their other restaurant in Havre de Grace.

This was the second time I have eaten here. The food is excellent and the service is as well! The space is small so the noise from the bar is loud at times. Other than that I have no complaints.
