We met friends we haven't seen in several years for brunch on Sunday. They live in Philadelphia and we live in Northern Virginia. So we picked a place that was about half way between us. Everything about Backfin was perfect for our mini-reunion. Their Sunday brunch menu is fabulous, the service was great, the food was scrumptious, and the price was very reasonable. All that, and the town is very nice, so we went for a nice walk after brunch. All-in-all, a perfect day!! Thanks, Backfin.
Always one of my favorite restaurants. The Chef is remarkable. The Hunter Duo was delicious. The bbq rabbit was the best I have ever eaten. It was smokey and the bbq sauce was perfect. The duck was cooked flawlessly and melted in my mouth. Cocktails are always on point. We were so full there was no room for dessert this trip. Thanks again Backfin Blues for your attention to small details that make a meal incredible.

Everything was great. The omelets are the best I have ever had and the shrimp Lijon is always perfect. The service was very friendly and we were happy to see Kate’s daughter is back.
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Made comfortable on a cool evening out on the back deck with heaters. Food was amazing and service great. Would recommend you don’t put a table right outside of men’s restroom door - but also understand the inside is a quaint older establishment with tighter spaces. Nicely done Bluefin Blues - we’ll be back!
The food is exquisite with a very nice selection of appetizers. The portions are enough to bring some home for the next day.
The staff is very attention and welcoming. I highly recommend this place as well as their other restaurant in Havre de Grace.
This was the second time I have eaten here. The food is excellent and the service is as well! The space is small so the noise from the bar is loud at times. Other than that I have no complaints.
Thank you for a wonderful evening. Everything was just right. We had friends on business in Newark de, and we live in harco. We both drove less than 30 min for the best meal and service. I knew it would be.

Always delicious! We had the barramundi & stuffed shrimp. This day, they also had mushrooms sauted in red win - YUM! The mashed sweet potatoes could be a dessert.
What a great find just off I-95 near the Susquehanna! I've seen the sign for Port Deposit dozens of times but never thought to go there until we needed a dinner break in the area. Fantastic seafood, well prepared and presented, with impeccable and friendly service. Wine markup was much lower than typical, too. Unpretentious fine dining.
Excellent fare and great service. I would sooner say stay away that way there is more for me but u really have to enjoy this place. Food is fantastic. Service is impeccable and staff are really in with the crowd
Food was fantastic as always. Staff went above and beyond to get some gluten free tortilla so my husband could share an appetizer with me.
Fantastic food choices and the bar is hopping with one of the best bar tenders I have met.

Everything was lovely. The service and food was great. We loved sitting outside on the porch and even the weather was perfect. The only issue we had is finding a good parking spot as my friend has trouble walking.
We always our visit to Back Fin Blues, have been coming for many years and am never disappointed. Food is great and presented nicely. Staff if very helpful.
Usually this place would rate 5 stars. However, today was not one of those days. The food had no taste and the service was atrocious! Our waitress took our order then disappeared. The hostess brought our food. After two bites the waitress showed up asked how the food was and left before we could answer. Didn't see her again until I asked the hostess for the check. Again this is not a normal experience.
Backfin Blues is one of our favorite places to go. The food is always fresh and well prepared and the menu options are always varied and interesting! Rob is sure to help me choose a fun cocktail and quite knowledgeable when suggesting wine pairings for my husband. Sarah and the rest of the wait staff work as a team and are attentive to the needs of all patrons! The comfortable atmosphere, easy going staff, and outstanding food, make us feel welcome and wanting to return again and again!

The food has been consistently excellent and the service was well above average. Cocktails were made from scratch and were perfect. The only downside is that it does get to be quite loud when the restaurant is full. The steak au poivre was butter tender, juicy and delicious.
We've never been disappointed! A great go too spot to take friends or just by ourselves, the food is always on point. The staff, is friendly and knowledgeable. Can get a little noisy when crowded, but that's part of the charm.

ALWAYS EXCELLENT FOOD AND SERVICE!!! The South African lobster tail was amazing. The barramundi fish was delectable. The service was outstanding, as always! We love the bartender. This is so the place to be if you want a wonderful meal, served with such personable service. Great job!
We always have a good meal at the Backfin Blues. The service is efficient and friendly (thank you, Caitlin!). The food is well prepared. The crab cakes are sublime, very little filler, mostly crabmeat. Although the scallops weren't on the menu this time, they are also well made, a real treat. The Garlic Mashed
Potatoes are always delicious, as are the Honeyed Carrots, tender crisp. The only complaint is that it can be very noisy, and difficult to carry on a conversation.
Backfin never disappoints! From Friday night cocktails, client dinners or Sunday brunch it’s always fabulous. Great food and cocktails and the staff just makes it perfect!
This has been one of our very favorite restaurants for several years. The prices were digestible because the food was certainly worth every cent and the quaint and friendly atmosphere always inviting. We moved away a year ago and decided to make the 45 minute drive for a special occasion, my husband’s 60th birthday. I received the chef’s weekend menu on Friday via email and looking forward to the calamari appetizer which has been one of favorites. Unfortunately they were sold out of our it by Saturday, 7 pm. If you’re going to offer a special weekend menu perhaps you should have enough ingredients for the three day weekend. We also miss the menu that offered multiple fresh catch fish options and the pan seared scallops. I ordered the salmon, but it was significantly peppered that I couldn’t finish it, nor did I have any desire to take it home. My husband settled on a filet for which they do offer three options, however all three filet options were “peppered crusted”. Again too spicy for our pallet. We are afraid the spicy creole flair may be working it’s way into this sister restaurant. The night ended with no acknowledgement for my husband’s 60th birthday which was that very day. And, Chef Bob didn’t make his usual appearance to greet his guests as we had grown accustomed during previous visits. We will try again, hoping this was an “off” night. Please bring back the wonderful fish and scallop dishes and offer a non peppered filet option!

BACKFIN BLUES PORT - delicious brunch, bubbly server, good value
Prior to our usual Sundays at Perryville American Legion, we opted for Sunday brunch at Backfin Blues using Open Table reservation system. Upon arrival, the hostess took us to our requested seating in the area adjacent to the bar. Our server, Katelin, presented as a bubbly welcoming staffer to take our order. Our only disappointment was not having the “specials” explained to us as we heard explained to others after we ordered. We both got the Kennett Square mushroom omelette. My partner got homefried potatoes and white bread while I got grilled asparagus and biscuits. Everything was delicious, seasoned perfectly and value priced for the chef quality & portion. Chef Bob Steele has a winning business formula here!

This was our first visit. We had a reservation & were seated quickly. Our server was very attentive & personable.
The lobster bisque was smooth & well seasoned. The crab cake was large & full of crab meat without much breading. The salmon was a large serving & the lemon, lime glaze definitely enhanced the taste.
Not much ambiance, but the food was superb.
Will definitely visit again.
Backfin Blues has been a favorite of ours for several years. The food is fantastic every time we visit. Service is always very good. Gretchen was our server on this visit and she was on top of everything. Once again, the filet was outstanding and the homemade banana pudding was everything I wanted it to be. My husband tried the Red Snapper and was not disappointed. If you haven't been here yet, you should definitely give it a try. Don't be afraid to try something you wouldn't normally see in a recipe together - they won't steer you wrong!
Gretchen was amazing as usual, the food was superb and Sara made the best drinks we could imagine.
Food and drinks are always great. Our server, Gretchen, was very knowledgeable and made some excellent recommendations. The bar is a fun place to eat but not many seats so reserve early.
