Love this restaurant however they were out of dishes we originally ordered. Disappointed
Braised short ribs were way too salty and the Tiramisu cake was too sweet. The jalapeño margarita was fantastic. I would go back for drinks, but not dinner.
It was our first trip to Port Deposit and the Backfin Blues --- we were celebrating a birthday and a friends induction into the Delaware Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. While the food was a bit pricey - everything was spot on. A few observations should be mentioned though. It needs some kind of handicap accessibility. The staff was helpful in that capacity. Having mentioned the celebrations, one would think we could have gotten one free dessert, or at the very least a candle....something. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. No long waits for the food to be served, yet we were not rushed. We were all pleased with our meals. Just the right amount of seasoning. I thought the Halibut was particularly good.
This is one of our favorite restaurants always considered good to outstanding food presentation
with quality and taste, for any meal at anytime.
Our party was a little disappointed with our most recent outing. Although still rated good +.
The following comments were made.
Salad did not have a lot of flavor or taste. The steak although cooked perfectly as asked was tender bot not very flavorful. The mussels were outstanding. The fish and lobster tail although very good were slightly over done and the garlic mashed were a little short on garlic.
We will still return as this is still one of the premier restaurants. The new weekly menus add a delightful touch and keep interesting

3 of us each had a different entre and we all agreed it was the best meal ever!!!!!
Although the service was very slow the food was worth the wait, everything we ate was absolutely delicious.
We had reservations and sat at our table for almost 2 hours waiting for our meal. One entree came out with the wrong sides and the food was average, nothing special, and overpriced. Handicap accessibility is horrendous, especially if in a wheelchair. Parking was scarce as well. Overall, not a great experience and we definitely won’t go back.

There was 6 of us for dinner fir a 6:15 reservation. When we arrived it was not too busy. We were the first bigger party to be seated on the deck. First drinks came out rather quickly then it got slower from then on. We waited longer than 1 hour for our entrees to be served and they were piece mealed to the table so 2 then 3 were waiting for the rest of us to get our meals. 5 were served and 1 still waiting. Her husband was almost done his meal when the 6th came out. I felt that my meal the stuffed shrimp was dry and not creamy at all because it probably sat in a warmer. No follow up on status of late meals. Had to ask after almost an hour where or why the meal was taking so long. Ate dinner and left. Asked hostess why she thought the service was so slow. She thought the Preakness race? Not sure why that would cause a normally busy restaurant to be slow serving. The Preakness wasn’t in Port Deposit. Unfortunate that this happened. It was a recommended restaurant and we traveled from Newark De for a mediocre experience.
Food is so tasty! A little on the expensive side but worth it.
Backfin Blues never disappoints! The food is amazing both in quality and preparation. The cocktails are delicious as well! I can’t say enough good things then to top it off you’ve got the incredible Jess at the bar!

Chef visited with us to discuss allergies that one member of our party suffers from and offered a delicious meal, not on the menu, that insured no issues. They definitely aimed to please and all members were impressed with their meals.
Might need more or lower AC was quite warm. The door getting opened definitely improved the temperature!!!!
All was great and we will continue to visit through out the year. Looking forward to outside seating the next time.
I made arrangements to host dinner at Backfin Blues for co-workers coming from Germany. The evening couldn’t have been better. The weather was great and we had a terrific table outside on the deck. The pace of service was relaxed and the food was terrific. I’ll definitely be going back.
Once again Sarah was our waitress and she couldn't have done better, we love her as well as the rest of the staff. It was Mothers Day and we have found that this is the one place that we can go on a holiday and still have excellent service fantastic food and superb drinks!! We will be back.
As usual Backfin did not disappoint! My mother’s day brunch was delicious and the service was great.

Our steaks were excellent and the staff is super friendly. I've been multiple times and will continue to go back.

We always have a great dinner here. This time maybe we just did not order the right thing.
Pork tenderloin was just ok. I guess for a $29 entree I expected more. No house salad included anymore with entrees. $32 for stuffed flounder. It was Rhode Island flounder so it was prepared a little different. Came with the skin on but peeled off easily. The vegatable medley Ra Ta Tuie(??) was probably to juicey. Potato mash & garlic mash were good.
We took my mother-in-law for her birthday dinner. She ordered the crab cakes and said they were the best she ever had. Our food and drinks were amazing and the wait staff was wonderful. We also enjoy coming to Backfin Blues for an amazing meal and experience!
Haven't had a bad meal there and I don't expect to. They have a fantastic staff- Thank you to all for our delicious plates and great experience! We are now regulars who enjoy going on a Friday night or Sunday for their AMAZING brunch. Highly recommend.

We went for dinner. The service was excellent. The appetizers were brought first, had a LITTLE bit of time in between then the salad was brought, had a LITTLE bit more time and our main course was brought out. Very nicely spaced out, not all piled up at once. Appetizers were hot and so was the main meal, nice change from most places. The food was cooked correctly. The only thing I could suggest would be , turn the music off. You really cant hear it anyway and all it does is add to back ground noise. Other than that we enjoyed the meal.

Been following Chef Bob for about 10 years. He does a great job, starting with good ingredients then adding his Chef inspired touch to his food. Rob and Cam make excellent hand crafted cocktails and provide a warm and inviting atmosphere for a most enjoyable dining experience.
Very delicious food and wait staff friendly. Hope to visit again in the not so distant future. Thanks for brightening out Easter.
This place never disappoints. My husband and I both had the twin crabcakes with lemon aïoli. They were enormous, made with jumbo lump crab and very little filler. I had the broken potatoes, which were crunchy perfection, and my husband had the garlic mash, which were deliciously garlicky, while still being subtle enough to not overpower the more delicate crab. This is my favorite “date night” restaurant, even though it’s 45 minutes and another state away from me.
Gretchen was our server and she was fabulous! Food and drinks were delicious.. we love dining at Backfin!

Backfin Blues is our go to restaurant. We live in Havre de Grace just over the bridge and it is worth the drive. Rob makes us feel at home every time we visit . We come for the amazing food. The taste is fresh, creative and perfectly seasoned. Donna and I love to cook at home and really appreciate the care that the chef takes preparing the dishes. The friendly great service at Backfin Blues keeps us coming back. The 3 for 30 was an unexpected treat. We came for Donna's birthday on a Thursday night. We are usually out for dinner on a Saturday.
Love this place, it is my favorite restaurant, it is always a treat to go there, the food is amazing!

Fantastic food, everything was hot and tasted great. They were busy so definitely glad we had reservations.
So this place is nothing new to me I've been there five or six times since I found it 3 to 4 years ago been taking family and friends down and dinner was great Caitlin when's our waitress and she was top notch once again I'm almost 64 when I find something I like why change a good thing we try to get down couple times a year we're in Delaware 40 minute drive on a nice day while worth the trip food is the best!

My wife and I, enjoyed everything from the meal to talking to the staff. The price of the meal was about right, we both felt that the manual had a lot to choose from.
Over all, we had a wonderful evening at the Backfin Blues, we looking forward too coming back with friends.
