The Back Burner is a solid restaurant. The food is very well prepared, but not real imaginative.

One warning when making a reservation - there. Are tables by the fireplace that seem cozy, but it’s very noisy back there. Regulars know to ask for a table in another area if they want to have a conversation.

The pumpkin-mushroom soup is amazing, and has been for several decades.

Amazing location, ambiance and food. Wait staff is incredibly young so they're not as intuitive as you'd want them to be for the price you're paying. But other than that no complaints!

Had a quiet and romantic date here. Great atmosphere and cozy space. It was hard to find because it is in a small craft market, but it was delightful once we got in there. Great oysters and the beet salad was scrumptious. Moderate pricing and great service.

Service was slow. It was burger night so things were busy.

this is a top notch restaurant. i could have been happy with anything on the menu. loved the choices of plate sizes. the fact that it's been in hockessin for many years shows how many appreciate the thoughtful care taken in managing the restaurant.
