The service was terrible. Once we got our food it wasn’t even good. The only good quality was the outdoor seating on a beautiful day.
My friends and I came to Back Bay Social for Marathon Monday celebration. We were seated early, service was attentive despite the crowd, and food came out quickly. One persons meal was entered incorrectly and the server took ownership. Good experience all around!
Took 30 minutes to get our drinks. 40 minutes to get 4/5 of our meals and took another 15 for our last meal
Everythig was bad — but they were self aware and comped half our bill. Took 20 minutes to order, 20 more to get coffee. Asked for eggs well done - sent them back because they were over easy. Came back over easy. A bunch of stuff was cold
Great mussels and appetizers.
Casual - sports bar environment. Ordered salads and soup for lunch and was better than expected. Would not be my first choice for a business meal in that area next time
It was a holiday brunch so the restaurant was busy, and the service was slow and suffered as a result of the volume.
Our table was for twelve and they separated us into two 6 people tables. They also put in the orders as two separate checks causing the tables to get food on a completely different timeline. The kids (teen) table finished a good 25 minutes ahead of the adult table.
Food was slow to arrive. Whole meal took over two hours and the food arrived cold for half of the table.
So I think the holiday affected the service but definitely not the best showing for the restaurant as a whole.
The best part of our experience was the drinks. The food was standard pub fair and, for the cost, you can find better quality and service elsewhere.
Back Bay Social Club is one of my favorite spots. It has a great playlist (a little loud), cool decor with a Paris cafe feel, and excellent food. Service is great. Awesome location as well.
We went for restaurant week. It was a huge disappointment. It's definitely a bar first, restaurant second. It was very noisy and the food was really not good. I got pretty sick about an hour after dinner. Seemed like it would be okay for happy hour drinks with coworkers but don't eat the food!
Everyone’s burger was slightly over cooked but it was still good.
Food was pretty salty. Atmosphere was fun.
Nick was a great server. The drinks were not good at all. Pizza not good. Best thing on menu was Social Burger and Chicken and waffles.
Great night out with girls before play. Was so dark and loud though. Tough to talk without yelling. Maybe perfect for others, but a little tough for us. Food was ok. I enjoyed beet salad with salmon, others in group mentioned they thought salty to taste. Service was excellent! We did have fun, just a few things to note.
Delicious food with very attentive service. Tour server, Mary, was 'there', without being overly solicitous. Kristen, the manager, was also attentive and caring. We will definitely return.
This was my first time to Back Bay Social Club and I liked the scene. Cool decor, decent service. Wish the menu offered a few more choices, but overall ok. I got the chicken and waffles, the chicken was nice and juicy of a bit overdone on the outside. The waffle was fluffy and delicious. Only wish the BBQ sauce was more of a honey flavor than tangy. Got a mule for a drink, just so-so. Looked and tasted liked they used a drink mix and not fresh lime and ginger beer.
There’s so many great restaurants in back bay, just go somewhere else. We were the only ones in the restaurant for a full half hour and yet our server was absent and preoccupied. We ordered the buffalo cauliflower to start and they brought us Caesar dressing and then kept insisting it was blue cheese, just gross. We also ordered a Caesar salad (same dressing btw) and it looked like a $2.99 Caesar salad kit from stop and shop complete with old brown lettuce, and a $12 ripoff price point. The clam chowder arrived to the table with a crusting on the top of it as if it had been sitting in the same cup for hours. We also ordered a pizza which was the only decent thing.
To top it all off they said we never checked in to our reservation and we received an alert from OpenTable. Trust me, we were there... not that we wanted to be..
Pretty good food and great ambience. A little expensive but it the pizza was really good
Really great, attentive but not excessive service. I am super pleased with our experience here because of our server. Thanks!
Service and food were awesome!!!
Friendly server, great food, and amazing atmosphere.
Cute place but food selection wasn’t great. Taste was worse. There were ingredients in plates not listed on menu. They did take allergies seriously and had a manager come to us.
Always came here for drinks but, finally came for food when I had brunch one day. It was delicious, great menu!
They were super accommodating for a group of ten. Everyone in the group enjoyed ringing in the New Year here!
First time there. Office holiday party. There were 12 of us so you couldn't talk with everyone anyway, but it was very loud and difficult to carry on a conversation.
Food was very good for fancy pub food. Good beer list. Nice decor with a friendly waitstaff. Solid effort.
My daughter and I ordered iced tea...tea was disgustingly strong. When we pointed this out to our waiter, he said he could dilute it...we declined. I then ordered a diet Coke which came out flat and concentrated with the syrup. The food was meh. My daughter asked for a side of avacado with her omelette...while not specifically listed as an addition, avacado was on the menu elsewhere. Our waiter told us it was not possible to get the avacado but he would see what he could do. He did bring avacado, which was hard and unappealing. Not going back.
Came here with family for pre-theater Sunday brunch. 11am was a perfect time, one of the first groups there. Good atmosphere for younger kids at that time. Yummy California Benedict and kids split a waffle and eggs. Nice walk to the theater district after the meal.
Good location close to the convention center, but the food was just ok and the drinks terrible and weak. Like many places nearby, it seemed overpriced.
Food is decent, service is an F. They didn't honor our opentable reservation (we didnt sit down for 45 minutes after our reservation time!). They served drinks but didn't come back to the table to get our food order for over an hour. Will not be going back.
Beer glasses were dirty and hot. This is a bar...needs some quality control on drink service.
Great service & excellent customer service. Food is good.
Overpriced. Food wasn't bad, but nothing to write home about either.
Restaurant food was mediocre just as service. Requested items to be returned to kitchen because of plates, cups, and silverware were not clean and did not receive anything back. Staff should have better communication and be more attentive of their customers. This was overall, a disappointing experience.
Our pizza was good and the beer was cold. Local hot spot!!
Good food. Good beer. Michele was excellent
Great food, cooked perfectly - best steak I've had in a long time! I'd choose to sit on the patio on a warm night - indoor was a nice space but a bit loud for smaller groups. Friendly and attentive staff - would definitely visit again.
I must say at the beginning it was disappointing the plates were cold The fries were cold my hamburger was overcooked ( I had asked for medium rare and I got medium well) I sent it back and I got an amazing dry aged medium rare hamburger delicious... absolutely delicious but they should serve it on a hot plate!!! Come on!!
Had my birthday dinner and had a great time! I was even given a complimentary piece of the orange blossom cake with a candle on it! Had the chicken and waffles for my meal and it was very good, although the waffles were not hot, so the butter didn't melt. Overall very happy with the experience and recommend it. I plan to return!
My wife and I had an excellent nite. Casual, friendly atmosphere, excellent food and service. Waiter was very helpful with food and drink choices. Definitely go back
