I’m extremely disappointed. I made a reservation for outdoor seating for brunch for two people- and specifically said celebrating a graduation. We got there few minutes before our 1pm reservation- there were 4 tables outside that had no guests. A man told me that they couldn’t accommodate us outside but would try to call a couple of groups to see if they’d be coming for their reservation. So, they honored their outdoor requests and not mine? Because it was only 2 of us versus 2 larger groups? We ended up leaving our table inside to go across the street to a different restaurant- where I dropped $200, $200 of which you lost out on. In the scheme of things, $200 may or may not be a lot for you- but we have been coming to back bay social for a long time as a fav spot of ours, and now this man has actually ruined our experience and we won’t be coming back. On top of it all he was rude, and barely tried to accommodate anything. Any other day I would have been annoyed, but today- we had a sister’s day planned to celebrating a doctoral graduation, and all we wanted to do was go to a fab spot for brunch. We won’t be returning. Your team needs better customer service skills- for the restaurant’s sake let’s hope the man who attended to us isn’t your manager. Zero people skills. I guess now we found another great brunch spot with excellent service, so I thank you for that atleast.
Downstairs was low lighting but a little too dark. Service was very slow, only 1 person waiting tables for entire downstairs, felt bad for her. Overall good but could have been better.
Always have a good time here. Food was delicious. Glad to see it was busy.
Great, as usual! Looking forward to the next time.
Food was decent, service was terrible
The loaded Tator tots were my favorite things ever. So easy to want to go again
Good food drinks in a casual low lit setting, I would return
Terrible terrible service. Food was ok and fairly priced. Had to flag down wait service, and then remind them that were waiting for drinks. Had to ask for dishes, napkins, and silverware.
Great food! Great service! Very accommodating for a party with 3 teenagers! Strongly recommend!!
Service was sssslllllooooowwwww even though it wasn’t a full house. Took forever to get a drink order in, and the drinks didn’t arrive until AFTER the apps made their own languid appearance. Even worse, the dry martini must’ve been sponsored by the vermouth maker since it was way over done. Twice no less. The good news is that the food is middling to decent, but it’d be a standout if you’re a deer and like a salt lick.
It was a last minute lunch on a rainy day. Service was great, and food was very good , and presented nicely.
Such a great ambiance! and the food was great! The service was a little slow for the number of tables that were still open but that’s also gave my friends and I more time to talk.
Reunited with a friend I hadn't seen in a while. Chose this place without much thought just so we'd have brunch booked... and it was epic! The vibe of the place was super chill and kind of retro, the servers were extremely friendly, and the food was really unlike anything I'd had before (get the brunch potatoes and awesome sauce!) We had some much fun and we're already planning when we're going back. You should plan when you're going here too :)
We often walk by the restaurant but have never dined there probably because the patio doesn’t look very inviting. Tables and chairs look like they were just thrown on the sidewalk. We finally decided to give it a try. The menu and food was pretty good. We ate inside. The atmosphere could be described as energetic and a bit loud. I hope they redo the patio so that we can dine outside this year
We had a great dinner celebrating two birthdays. Good food and great atmosphere.
Dark, dirty, loud place with slow service. Meh..
Good food, ok drinks, ok service!
I loved Back Bay Social! The service was efficient and my waitress was really kind and personable. Due to COVID precautions, the restaurant wasn’t fully booked which made me feel safe while eating since they were able to space out everyone. I ordered the espresso martini and the lucky cristo - amazing. Both are a must try! The martini was delicious, it tasted sweet enough to satisfy morning coffee cravings but also had that kick of vodka that wasn’t overpowering. The lucky cristo was delicious, I would order it again in a heartbeat. The French toast was slightly sweet and moist which paired incredibly with the Swiss, turkey, and ham. I dipped it in maple syrup and it was to die for!! Definitely a place to visit if you’re in the city.
Food was good , not much of a diverse crowd tho .
Terrible ... waiter was practically ignoring us and took forever to get us our drinks (if we only have 90 mins .. service should be quick) acted like we weren’t even there. The food was pretty gross and kind of cold when it got to our table. Won’t be returning
Great overall experience! Strange to be there during lunch and be loudly listening to early 20's trap songs? Don't get me wrong - those are great songs. Just weird pairing for the rest of the classier vibe and time of day. Could have just been a one time thing, not sure. Overall - amazing good and great service!
Good service, good food and a pretty good value for your money. Nothing fancy, but a good option in the Copley area. The hostess was very nice and accommodating.
For the burgers :)
A great experience all around! We are Bostonians and LOVE brunch; often times we venture outside of our city to explore restaurants. This has been challenging for us due to COVID as we want to retain our negative status. We also stayed away from Back Bay restaurants as the area is always crowded and noisy. We were pleasantly surprised by our experience at the Back Bay Social Club. Friendly environment, excellent safety measures, great cuisine and service; menu reasonably priced. I endorse the banana foster!!! BBSC is now in rotation for one of our brunch favorites!
The drinks were so good! The food was also very good, but they seemed a bit short staffed. Definitely would recommend for a casual time!
Amazing atmosphere! Def going back, great service, awesome time
We had a really nice lunch during our Birthday Weekend Celebration. The restaurant was quiet so we go to spend a lot of time talking to Carly who was behind the Bar. She was very attentive, provided great service and great recommendations. Food was Excellent. Will definitely go again!
Food was delicious. They had NYE party stuff in the table for us to wear. Very good time
The old fashion is the best drink. The veggie burger with regular fries was A+.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was great, just a little over priced for the value of the food.
Great food, great service and great location. They were really clean and had great protocols
Nice brunch outside!
Perfect for sunday
Had such an amazing meal and service! Had the mussels and Steak Frites with a Nice Goose Island Sofie on draft and their Fall Margarita, was a great experience overall!
We ordered clam chowder, chicken wings, and Kobe meatloaf. The clam chowder was good. The rest of the food was disappointing. We returned the chicken wings to the kitchen - it was that bad. Service was good.
I liked back bay social because the food was amazing and the service was great. overall great experience.
I had the steak frites and it wasn't good. It tasted...weird. I also had the hummus appetizer and the bread was like burnt toast. The server was good but he was overloaded and was moving around so quickly that you literally had to flag him or jump in front of him to get his attention. Not his fault, he was doing the best he could with a full patio.
My boyfriend and I did NOT enjoy this restaurant. First off the menu on here isn’t the menu you get. The menu they actually have is literally like 15 things max. They have only 2 types of pizzas to choose from and only one type of wings. We ordered plain wings because the ones they have didn’t sound great and a pizza. The server forgot our pizza and it was already to late to order another because kitchen closed. He did seem apologetic but we left a restaurant STARVING. We had to stop somewhere else to get pizza slices. I would never go back.
Food was mediocre and the tables outside were too close together
Had not been here in a very long time but was looking forward to it because I had had one of the most delicious burgers I had ever tasted. The outdoor seating was very nice and it felt safe. The staff is friendly and helpful. Sorry to say the food was mediocre at best. My nicoise salad was a nice size but was essentially had no taste. One of our party ordered the cod and it turned out to be over cooked and rubbery. The 3 pizzas our party ordered were ok but the crusts on all of them were not really cooked enough-should have been golden brown and crispy. And finally the burger I had bragged about — ok but not what I had remembered. We will probably not return anytime soon nor can I recommend you to friends, etc. I hope you will take this review in the spirit that is meant—as a learning tool to help improve your food.
