I started off with the Caprese salad, it was good. Then my wife and I enjoyed the Bistro Burger. Excellent!
I think this pkace is the best kept secret. We came here to watch the sun set on the bay. It is the perfect place to enjoy a cocktail and a meal while enjoying the calm and quiet of the sunset by the bay. Our server was friendly and helpful. My husband and I ordered the caprese salad and parisian chicken sandwich to share and she divided the serving for two which was just right for a light evening meal. We will definitely plan to return again soon.
Great place for brunch in Orange County
Enjoyed our time. Beautiful sunset view over the back Bay. Every table has a view. My wife had an excellent sea bass. My Shrimp scampi was so so. Only 5 shrimp and pasta noodles. I had a couple gr at lemon drop martinis. Will definitely be back.
Food was great, service excellent! Hidden gem! Great for any occasion and the food was well prepared and service was much better than most!
Wonderful food with a beautiful atmosphere and good service made for a wonderful date night. I had the prime rib special that was delicious and my wife had the beef tip Pasta, only wish the sides were a little larger but other than that everything was great
Good place to go for lunch if you want easy parking, varied menu, great service , and an outdoor casual feel. away from the hustle and bustle of Fashion Island. Great selection of fresh salads, sandwiches and heavier entrees if that's what your crave. Menu pricing is very reasonable.
AMAZING Brunch menu with great service. We will be back for sure.
We've been going to the Back Bay Bistro for a few years now. We bring our friends from out of town, and also go there on special occasions. Food last Saturday seemed to have less selections compared to past, but we love the mimosas, salad and lamb stew. Desserts too. Service was excellent as usual.
When first walking in we were a bit hesitant because the restaurant was pretty empty, however the food and service far made up for any reservations we may have had. Everything was delicious and a great value for the price.
I would recommend some live music. The place is by far big enough to handle without it imposing on your dining experience.
Overall everything was great.
While the restaurant was empty...due to rain...the food was great.
Awesome food... great area.... always great service... yummy.. filet tortellini with spinach
We will not be going back. First off, it’s sorta an indoor/outdoor tent sort of thing. It was FREEZING and extremely drafty and uncomfortable.
The staff was nice and they really tried.
We were the ONLY couple without white Hair and a walker. The music was slow and from the 50’s. Just before we left, the audio started bellowing, “Blue Mooooon!”
I ordered the Cornish Game hen. It was plated beautifully and I was optimistic. Unfortunately, it was flavorless except for excessive salt on the walnuts, and carrots which was so severe, it was uneatable.
We will not go back. Sorta felt sad for the people who work there.
Great Sunday brunch buffet with a view of the back bay!
Valentine's night fixed menu - $85/person for a few courses with tiny portion. THEN THERE WAS HAIR ON TOP OF OUR PATATO! Server won't refill water or soda without being asked, and there were only 10 customers in there at the time. Very disappointed.
Great place for brunch. The 1st 15 minutes of our arrival there was a screaming child that was very disruptive and annoying. Fortunately they left.
We get the brunch buffet. Kinda pricey, but the food is great if you are open to spending the dough. Great outdoor seating options. Views of the bay available from most seats in the house.
Enjoyed Sunday brunch with my wife. Beautiful location, lovely outside table right on the water. Amazing selection of food and desserts. Highly recommend. We will take our family there when they next visit from out of state.
We wanted to try something new and decided to go here. Walking in it is a very large open room that is a little cavernous for me. But we stayed inside due to it being a little cold outside however, I can see where outside is the place to be. We tried restaurant week and a kids meal and a couple of appetizers. I must admit, I was surprised on how wonderful the Chilean Seabass was. One of the best I have ever had. The wedge salad was also very good. The Creme Brulee was very bland and not much flavor at all. Kids pizza was good and the caprese salad was good as well. Wine selection is ok as well. I guess it sounds like I am not fully getting excited about this restaurant even though the food was very good. The service was less than stellar. There were only a few tables in the restaurant so the awareness of our coursing was not timed well and table maintenance was lacking . No manager appeared to be in the building or we never saw one. The server was very nice and it may have just been an off night but if this is their typical service, it is easy to understand why there were only 3 tables there on a Saturday night and 3 people at the bar. We will be back for Brunch as I have heard good things about it and when it is warmer then we will try the patio.
Gorgeous view of the Newport backbay!
Very attentive service without hovering.
Extremely casual atmosphere and very loud when there are people at the bar.
My beef short ribs were tender, but not very flavorful. My wife’s sea bass was cooked well with a delightful crunch, however the sauce was to salty.
I would come back because of the service and view to try some of their other offerings.
Have only been there for Sunday brunch, but it is a nice, varied, large spread and the champagne flows generously. Always groups there celebrating birthdays or Mother's Day, so the noise level can get pretty high. Nice view of the back bay with outdoor seating and lots of glass windows.
First time and will probably go back; food was wonderful
this was an old favorite who seems to have slipped a lot. Maybe it was the cold winter night but scallops in blueberry cause, how weird was that. We miss the good basic seafood menu of past years and won't go back
Good view
Food is just so so
Service is good.
A little noisy
We went for NB Restaurant Week and my birthday. My friend and I both started with the French onion soup - it was just ok, lukewarm and way too many onions with little broth. My friend's cobb salad looked pretty good, but nothing out of the ordinary. I had the calamari, which was just ok. It was served with 2 asparagus spears, 2 carrots, and a scoop of mashed potatoes with nothing on them - not even any butter. I asked for some kine of gravy but was told they had none, so the server brought me butter. Kinda disappointed in the meal overall.
Best brunch I’ve been to ever! Way better than Bellagio in Las Vegas or any other city. I love the King Crab, oysters and other items at seafood station.
The place has changed since we're last here. More seating, as the brunch had been moved into an adjacent room--flow is not good as there in only one door to get in and out. It was very noisy, as there were lots of families with small children. The food was good with nice variety of choices, but $45 each for brunch seemed a bit high when you're eating with the playground. As always, the waiter with champagne (and OJ if you want a mimosa) never let our flutes go dry. And it's a good champagne!
We went for a Saturday brunch. It was a bit pricey but very relaxing. We were able to take our time and just enjoy being out near the water with some good food.
Great server..very fresh and well-cooked food
This is a beautiful restaurant, the bar was great, we went early and the dining room was almost empty. We had a drink at the bar first, great bartender, great view. Had dinner in the dining room, excellent service. The food was good, but not great, my husband liked it more than I did. I thought it was uninspired, but would go back for happy hour food and drinks at the bar.
We celebrated Christmas Eve with the multi course dinner at Back Bay Bistro. The food was delicious and the service attentive. It would have been nice to have tablecloths and a holiday centerpiece to liven up the place but other than that a good time was had by our group of six.
We went this restaurant for Christmas eve lunch and their foods and services were great!!
Also, view from the windows are beautiful.
We are so impressed by their seafood selections, such as oysters, crubs and shrimps. They are very fresh!! Only thing they might be able to improve is the sweets sections. Those sweets are ok, but nothing special. Drinks were included in the lunch price of $45 per person, and we had many grasses of Mimosa!!
What a delicious and fabulous Saturday Brunch! The seafood was so fresh, flavors fantastic and a great variety on the buffet. The bay view was a bonus. The French Toast was some of the best ever. A must try!
Only one office luncheon going on, otherwise restaurant was empty at lunchtime on a Friday, except for our party of 4. Service was somewhat slow, considering no other customers. Food was OK, but not the best lunch I've ever had, nice bay view, decorated for Christmas.
We had our staff Christmas party during Sunday Brunch. We had a great time! Food was delicious with a large variety to satisfy everyone. Service was excellent! Thank you!!
We visited the BBB for Thanksgiving, which in my experience is always a zoo wherever you go. The dining room was extremely busy and loud, but we were lucky enough to be given an outside table near the water. It was sunny and quite warm and we ourselves moved our table into the shade, so we landed up happy enough through our own ingenuity, The buffet was truly amazing, with lots of delicious choices. So for a Thanksgiving dinner, I would definitely give it a thumbs up. I have no idea how it would rate for another occasion.
My friends refer to Back Bay Bistro as "The Brunch Place" because it's our go to for Saturday brunch. The view for outdoor seating is amazing and the buffet options are fantastic. They've even recently added a taco bar with fresh made tacos right next to the omelet bar and meat station. Pre-made options include a salad bar, tons of vegetables, pancakes, french toast, eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, bacon, sausage, etc. There's really something for everyone. There are also bottomless mimosas until 2 p.m. and we've never had a server who lets us finish our glasses before refilling, so they truly are bottomless!
The ambiance was very generic and very average inside. For the amount of the Sunday Brunch I was expecting a more elegant experience for $39 per person. It used to be a little better with table cloths on the tables. The tables were very boring and needed a cover. It was also very very loud in the cavernous room. Then need to add carpet to keep the noise level down.
The restaurant was clean and the view of the Back Bay puts a guest at ease immediately. The food was good but not memorable. My companion enjoyed the large shrimp and crab and I enjoyed the omelet station. I think they should add a selection of breads and bagels that can be toasted. The staff was attentive and friendly. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience.
Their Sunday Brunch is one of the best. All types of great food, there is something for everyone. The view is outstanding looking over the back bay and Newport Aquatic Center. The service was outstanding. Even though it was a buffet, our waiter made sure our drinks were always filled with champagne, water and coffee. Their valet parking was easy. Well worth the money.
