Bacio - Tropicana Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
As we sat and had our adequate meal, the "chefs" paraded by from the storage room and freezer across the hall carrying canned crab meat and frozen lobster ravioli's. Begs to question how much of the food is that way. Would not recommend any seafood there if you're looking for quality ingredients.
I was looking for some decent Italian during a 3 day weekend with my wife. Found this place at the Tropicana. I really wanted to sit outside but their al fresco dining is actually on the 2nd floor looking across to the other restaurant as patrons walk by heading to the shops. Hostess was very nice and the waitress was very attentive. Got the mussels appetizer - outstanding especially when you dip the bread. I had the lobster ravioli - good - not great but very filling. Wife had the Capellini Con Gamberto (Shrimp in butter sauce) - again , good not great. Dessert was the tirmasu - very good. Nice atmosphere and overall a very pleasant experience.
We have dined here 4 times since 2010 and we always go back. The food is amazing every time. The calamari and the fresh mozzarella are a must! The ambiance is quiet and romantic. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Every restaurant in the Tropicana is on point!
We were staying at NYNY and wanted something convenient. We found Bacio online and decided to give it a try. It far exceeded our expectations. I had salmon - and it was delicious. I'd put it up there with the best. My wife had a pasta bolognese and she described it as the best she's ever had too. The service was excellent - our server was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. With so many choices in Vegas, I'd be hard pressed to go back anywhere. But we'll definitely revisit on the next trip.
The server, Amber, was very friendly and accommodating. A person in our party had some food allergies which Amber spoke about when she first came to our table. As well, Amber arranged to have the kitchen make us some penne primavera not on the menu as they do not have many veggie selections on their menu. The food was very mediocre and not that tasty. Even the Caesar salad was cut strips of romain and tasted like it had sand in it (not sure if it was washed?) I probably will not return as it was pricey and food not very good.
We were "greeted and seated" in les than two minutes......our waiter was knowledgeable, pleasant, friendly, and professional. Love the digital wine list, as it added a new level of inter-action for the guest. The bread is absolutely out of this world! Just give me a couple of loaves, some grated cheese and a bowl of meat sauce and I'd be in heaven! Food was served/timed to our pace and at no time did we feel "rushed" as the restaurant was quite busy. The only negative comment I have is that approx. 2/3rds of the way through our dinner, we heard a mild pounding coming from behind one of the walls connected to the kitchen that lasted approx. 5-6 min. I'm guessing they were pounding/tenderizing cuts of beef/chicken/veal, etc. ?
We love to dip the bread in the mussel sauce and the lobster ravioli with the corn sauce is so good!
We also loved the tiramisu which was very light. Over all, just an enjoyable meal.
We had Lloyd as our server twice and he is really good. Reminds us of Tony Danza.
Bacio is an understated hidden gem inside the Trop. I had the best meal there. The starter Scallop is an eye opener, 3 giant scallops in a citrus tomato sauce, cooked perfectly tender. The Caesar salad with baby romaine in a deconstructed version is outstanding. The entree Risotto di Scampi is to die for. Italian rice cooked in tomato, fish stock and white wine broth topped with jumbo shrimp as Bacio listed it but excuse me they are jumbo prawns! All portions are generous. I had to miss dessert because I was quite full but had a cappuccino instead. It came with brown rock sugar on a stick to sweeten the coffee. Such a neat touch. Service is also pretty good.
Food and service were just OK. There are definitely better choices for Italian fare on the Strip. My mushroom triangoli was warm, but not piping hot as I was hoping for. The "Spumoni" dessert had a funky texture to it. If you're at the Tropicana, go across the walkway & eat at Biscayne instead.
There were five in our party, we dined before Raiding the Rock Vault. The room is pretty, clean and white. The service was top notch and friendly. A couple of us tried the four course tasting menu with wine sampling for $39 and it was just excellent. I really recommend this. Would definitely revisit Bacio on a future trip to Vegas.
My friend and I booked a table at Bacio with the intent of having their tasting menu (an amazing value). After being seated, we were told the tasting menu was not available that day because of missing ingredients. That was really disappointing. Luckily, the staff was amazing, and the food was pretty good too so that made up for the initial disappointment.
This was my first time at the Tropicana – I didn't realize it was a much older and dated hotel (especially coming from the Wynn) so that was a bit of a surprise. The decor is very bare bones, so if you're looking for an elegant, fancy, exclusive restaurant, this is not it. It's a down-to-earth place that's more on the casual/business casual side.
I love this restaurant! My partner and I always make sure to stop when we are in Las Vegas! Their appetizer list is incredible and they have things like deep fried risotto and citrus scallops. I personally love their chicken picatta as my main entree. The wines are unique and reasonably priced. My only complaint is the service. The waitstaff is hit or miss. Sometimes they are attentive and other times they act like you don't exist. My partner and I believe this has to do with who they might think will tip better. The other night our server ignored us while he entertained a four top.
My boyfriend and I were treated to dinner after the Tropicana failed to deliver basic service to our room. We were seated right away, and the server was very happy to discuss wine with us, and even went out of his way to go to another restaurant on site to make sure we got the wine we ordered. The pasta tasted homemade, and the flavors were to die for. The meats were cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. You can tell there is a lot of passion that goes into these dishes. We will back at some point to try other dishes Bacio has to offer
