Baci Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Baci is a little pricey but it is worth it. The food was excellent and the wait staff brings back the manners and treatment of old school dining: professional, polite, and knowledgeable and dressed up. This atmosphere is romantic and it's not too loud. Perfect.
Baci is an old standby. Cocktails came quickly and as ordered. Fantastic service throughout the meal. Excellent appetizers. For main course wife had branzino special, very good and I had Oso Buco, also as a special, a bit chewy, but tasty. Better than very good, not quite excellent.
Best for that special occasion.
All the people who work here are so nice and attentive . The food was outstanding and I got a free tiramisu for my birthday which was nice. My mom and dad were very pleased with everything which was a relief as they have such high expectations. My martini was perfect, best I ever had and I can’t wait to dine here again! 😍
Waiters in tuxedos, cozy booths, and an intimate lounge (I refuse to call it a "bar") add up to a relaxing evening with friends. It was a busy Saturday night but Tony (the long-time owner) was directing the staff with a keen eye. The specials were varied, numerous and creative. Chef was pulling out all the stops tonight!
We shared a burrata and then gnocchi, both of which were amazing. These were followed by our entrees. Pacing was excellent, with generous refills of their signature home baked garlic bread between courses. The eagle-eyed busers, in crisp white shirts and black vests, refreshed our silverware, water and removed plates without being intrusive.
I hope you enjoy Bach's as much as we do.
We celebrated a birthday at lunch, at a cozy booth for four. I have been to Baci's many times, and have never had something I didn't like. The swordfish oreganata stands out in my mind. But at this lunch we all enjoyed the caesar salad, topped with the most succulent piece of grilled salmon I have ever had. This salad includes hard boiled egg, and steamed carrot and asparagus spears. The garlic bread comes to the table warm, and we rounded out the meal with a glass of pino grigio and just a bit of fresh pasta. They also brought us a wonderful tiramisu with a birthday candle. The service is attentive, my glass was never empty. If you try Baci's you won't be disappointed.
I have been meaning to try this place for years. I worried it was too fancy. Definitely an older crowd but some families. Mostly "business casual" dress that I saw. Everything was delicious! My friend had the octopus appetizer and the Chilean Sea bass. The fish was perfectly seasoned and melted in your mouth. I had the caprese salad so I could leave room for tiramisu and cappuccino-glad I did! Bread is amazing as well. We will definitely be coming back.
Wonderful atmosphere, loved sitting at Table 1. Food overall was a little short on spices.
Tomato/mozzarella cheese appetizer needed salt or a bit of lemon/wine vinegar, veal was heavy handed with lemon however. Linguine flat and short on sauce. Baked potato and side vegetables were quite good. The best part of my meal was ordering the side of eggplant, it was Excellent!!
My lady friend however enjoyed her mussels and angel hair pasta and your tasty garlic bread.
I would definitely come again and try a different dish to compare meals before I recommend this
restaurant to my friends.
One of our favorite local restaurants. In my opinion this is the best Italian place in all of San Diego. While all of the items on the menu are good, the Salmon Piccata is truly exceptional. When you add in the wonderful atmosphere and the friendly staff, 5 stars are not enough!
We attended for a family birthday celebration. Right from the start, we had excellent connection and attention from the staff. Seated promptly (we had a reservation), we were addressed quickly by our waiter. Great service all night, and the food is awesome.
We went for dinner this past Saturday with friends and the restaurant exceeded our expectations. All four of us have driven past Baci for years but have never dined there. We decided to give it a try and just loved everything about it: great atmosphere, terrific service, excellent food, priced right. We are excited to go back. Absolutely recommend Baci for anyone who loves great Italian food and great service. Such a welcome change from the ubiquitous distressed wood and wrought iron trendy restaurants.
