Baci Restaurant & Bar Ratings and Reviews
We had not been to Baci in probably 10 years. The locals have been saying that is pretty good so we thought we would give it a try. Was not disappointed. Food was good and so was the service. It was not busy on a Saturday night. Do not know what the service would have been like if they would have been busy as we only saw 3 servers. We got an an antipasto plate a cup of lobster bisque compliments of the chef which was good. We will dine there again.
Charged my credit card 3x for our meal. Then wrote down my credit card number to possibly charge again later? Told me they were having trouble with their credit card machine. ALSO... very loud guy in bar area yelling the F-word many times. I asked that someone talk to him, they said, they did talk to him, but he continued to tell and throw out bad language. We will not be back... and I’m worried about my credit card exposure.
Much better this time. I left a pretty scathing review after our last visit so I wanted to update. The only reason we decided to return was because they were offering 1,000 points on Open Table and we wanted something quick and cheap and convenient. The service was much better this time, and even more notably, the food was much improved. The same side salad: night and day. Fresh lettuce, with radish and carrot and cucumber and other toppings that were nowhere to be seen last time. Lovely presentation. The pasta was good too (I had the carbonara). Though my husband had the spicy pasta, which I must say, was offensively spicy. I don't think most people would be able to tolerate that level of spice. They did warn him that it was "really spicy" though, so we can't really complain. Pleased to see such an improvement in about a month's time!
We were so horrified by the outside and entrance of the building we didn't even bother to have dinner. It's an extremely sketchy dark feeling. Not a place to have a dinner date or dinner either. I prefer being able to see who I'm eating with. Felt like a low end dead night club.
I don't always write negative reviews when I'm not impressed with a restaurant, but had to say something this time. This place has 4.5 stars according to OpenTable and TripAdvisor. That's a joke. Lesson learned: the reviews are relative to the area and the clientele. So, because there are no virtually other restaurants in the area, people think this is good.
The chef did send out an amuse-bouche (a free small bowl of lobster bisque to start), which we appreciated. From there it was downhill. The server came back about 15 minutes after we placed our orders, asking us to repeat them because she'd forgotten. Strike one. I asked for my salad dressing on the side. It came swimming in dressing. Strike two. Beneath all the dressing, the lettuce was sub-par anyway; I couldn't even eat it. I had asked for my pasta with the Diavolo sauce. Our server discouraged me from ordering that, saying it was too spicy. She explained that the chef simply adds crushed red pepper to the marinara sauce to make the Diavolo (I'm no chef, but is that really the only difference?!) and said she would bring me some crushed red pepper on the side (which you should get anyway, along with Parmesan .. there was no offer for either). She forgot the crushed red pepper until I was nearly finished eating. Strike three.
The food was so-so, not terrible but nothing special at all. I hate to be snooty, but anyone rating this 4.5 stars: I loath to see what you think is 2 or 3 stars. Blech!! Come on, let's keep OpenTable reviews accurate or they're no good to anyone!
Who would expect to find dining like this at a Comfort Inn? Sorry Comfort Inn... There is no sign out front and so you have to know where you are going. My daughter and I both got a filet that came with a salad, asparagus, and gratin potatoes. They also brought an amazing bread, olives, and cheese. OH, I almost forgot... they also sent out a decent portion of an awesome pasta ("compliments of the chef"). Our filets were cooked to perfection! A little char on the outside and medium rare center. I wish that I did not live so far away or I would frequent this restaurant often. It is a sad that there is apparently no marketing for this restaurant as it was less than 1/4 full of guest. I highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Simply awesome! I am a very hard person to please when it comes to dining out,but this little gem hidden in a hotel is without a doubt one of the most pleasurable restaurants that I have been in many years.Right down from the menu selection to the quality and quantity and my waitress was one of the most helpful and friendliest I have ever had the pleasure of waiting on my family.I am actually considering driving 120 miles from home just to enjoy another fine meal. The atmosphere was also top notch. The only depressing issue was that there was only one other couple dining at 6:00.I hope the Baci Club remains open for many years to come.I will be sure to dine there again next time I am vacationing in Sandusky.
We always think to go to Baci's for special occasions. The food is always excellent, the portions are very generous and the complimentary items they offer before your meal is a nice touch. We plan on not waiting for another special occasion to go back and choose them in place of the chain restaurants that are found along Rt 250.
Food was amazing as usual! We recommend this place to all our friends. The only thing I would suggest is when waitresses tell you fish of the day they should met you know how it's prepared. My husband got the swordfish and it came steamed when he thought it would have been grilled. Knowing that he would have chosen something different. However, it was still good.
Not a romantic dinner place but the food is good . We had the scallops and the beef tenderloin. Scallops were well prepared and tender . Tenderloin was a little under done from what we asked for but it actually turned out very good and tender.
We experienced another excellent outing at Baci Restaurant & Bar. Our server (Carlos) was amazing - a friendly smile, polite, and very efficient. Our meals were cooked to perfection (scallops dinners and Delmonico steak dinners). The ambiance was wonderful. The only negative part of our dining experience was that the 5:30 p.m. reservation I made online for our party of 4 specifically requested that we wanted to be seated in a BOOTH, not a table. When we arrived at 5:25 p.m., we were told there were no booths available. We chose to wait for a booth to open up so we were not seated until after 6:00 p.m. On a positive note, the hostess was very apologetic and kept us informed on how long we would wait for our booth. Overall, we highly recommend Baci Restaurant & Bar.
We meet friends for dinner every year at Baci and we are never disappointed. The food seems to just keep coming so that by the time the entree comes we can (almost) not eat it! From the special spreads for the bread, to the pasta course, to the delicious salad and the great variety of entrees, everything is delicious. The only thing we've never tasted is the dessert because we've never had room! We highly recommend Baci for a special dinner.
We arrived at the restaurant where there was no hostess and the waiting area was dark, we stood around for a good five minutes before someone realized we were waiting. We were sat down at a table underneath a leaking ceiling. We were unable to request a new table because no one came around to our table within ten minutes of being sat so our party decided to leave. Extremely disappointed in the lack service, wanted to stay to try the food but couldn't justify waiting around especially when water was dripping upon our table. I can't say I'd recommended this restaurant to anyone based upon the lack of customer service.
We have been dining at Baci's for many years. It is not what it used to be. It has been "updated" over the past few years, but the service and ambience has deteriorated. It seems cold and uninviting. They were out of wine and food selections, but we were there mid week. The food is very good, but the presentation and whole dining experience is lacking. We will continue to go to Baci's but not as often. The value is good for what you get. I wish they'd play more of the old Italian standards, also...
Limited menu. I asked for pasta with a Bolognese sauce and was told - "Not Available." Service was terrible. The quality of food when served was quite good. Portions big. But - I would not go back. I don't understand how a restaurant charging $25 / patron (average of our bill) can expect to stay in business with such poor service delivery.
Baci could seriously serve the best food in Ohio! Especially if you like authentic Italian dishes made with seasonal, fresh ingredients. When you order a main entre - you are delighted with a pasta course, antipasta course, salad and dessert. These are courses you will be still be talking. The night we were there our pasta dish had an amazing lobster/tomato cream sauce. You will be talking about the next day. Food is amazing. And great value. Atmosphere is a dated.
The bartender amazing... our waitress had a hard time smiling. She even went over to the table next to us and told the diners that their waitress was new.... not her job and it seemed the new waitress was more attentive and friendly. We waited a long time for our 3rd and 4th course and never once did our waitress ask if we wanted refills. She smiled once when we noticed a tattoo of our home state
Food was good overall, but what stood out was that pasta dish for 1st course... amazing
Used to be my favorite special date night spot. It has really changed. The food was delicious and the service was good, but I miss the dark, romantic feel. We had reservations but there was no hostess and I was never able to formally check in to get my 1000 points, even though I brought it up to our waitress. Overall I was half satisfied/half disappointed.
Had been here a few years ago so we took friends here to experience the ambience, but the palm trees and birds on swings had been taken down. Still a 70's and 80's Vegas type theme. Great value. 4 course meal. Friends had steak and scallops that were delicious and cooked perfectly. My wife and I had veal and steak just as good.
