Baci Cafe & Wine Bar - Healdsburg Ratings and Reviews
This place is excellent... creative, diverse and authentically Italian food. Service is professional, fun and timely. Menu is creative and broad with many seasonal specials. A little pricey yet good value. Nice location in a fun, small city located in the heart of non-Napa, flourishing wine country. Worth a visit although no longer a 'secret'.
The restaurant was not up to its normal standard. We understand the fires have affected many and it can be a hardship. I would have liked to know if that was the reason for the “less than stellar” service, but hearing that the owners were on vacation leads me to believe the “B” team was in charge. Lack of service included no water refills until requested, and the glass being empty for awhile, no knifes brought with salads and no pepper offered with salads. I asked for a pepper shaker and that’s what was brought; had to ask for the salt, too. Simple etiquette! BTW- no distinction between salt & pepper shaker.
The food needed some help, too; pasta was mushy and lacked the normal amount of seafood. A big disappointment!
We had asked for a specific area of the restaurant, but they seated our guests, who arrived earlier than us in a crowded section. Difficult to hear each other due to the high volume, although we probably added to it as the night went on
A welcoming greeting, immediately seated, vibrant atmosphere, great Italian menu w/ lots of choice, 4 or 5 different salad options, 10+ pasta dishes, and the best lamb shank I have ever had-great wine list--highlighting area wines
attentive anticipatory service --with a big smile-
Very good restaurant-- 1/2 block north of Healdsburg Main square
Couldn't have been more pleased with the entire experience.
Every dish was prepared perfectly, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent but not intrusive. I would say it is moderately expensive, but worth every penny. In fact, it is an absolute bargain considering the quality and freshness of the ingredients and the obvious time and effort involved in every dish. Overall, a wonderful dining experience, and we cannot wait to go back!
It was a very nice evening considering the circumstances that our two friends with us lost their house to the fire in Santa Rosa. The staff and the owner were so cordial and understanding. The salads , meals, deserts were outstanding. This is one of our favorite restaurants and has proven so on every one of our visits.
My husband and I visited this restaurant on our honeymoon. It was recommended by the owners of the bed-and-breakfast we stayed at and it did not disappoint. I was able to get my pasta gluten-free and the chef / owner came over to ask us how our meal was and when I raved about the pasta gave me a bag to take home. It was a tremendous dinner highly recommended.
Had a great time on our visit to Baci. This was our last night of a 5 day trip to Sonoma county for wine tasting with 3 couples. Our server Karen was terrific and the owners made a special point to remember the visit was also an anniversary celebration. This was a Sunday night, and the place was quite busy so heed the recommendation for getting reservations for larger parties.
Baci was extremely accommodating. They expanded our party last minute from 4 to 6 to 9, every single diner was happy with the food, the service, the experience, and the price. The server was outstanding, customized appetizers so we could each have a bite. Excellent, fresh food made with care. We will be back!
If you are near Healdsburg, Baci is a must! We initially went last year while in California from Boston and were blown away by the food, service, and comfortable, friendly atmosphere. Made sure to go back when in California this year. Veal Piccata was the best my partner has ever had. And he has it as often as he can, so is somewhat of an expert. Ingredients are fresh, dishes are creative and delicious. The chef always comes out so you have a chance to talk about the food. One of the best restaurants we have ever been to.
The food is always good, and the specials are very good to exceptional. The staff is extremely helpful and know the menu well. The place does get a bit noisy when it is full so it is not conducive to quiet conversation but it is a lot of fun. The prices are about average for an upper end restaurant in Healdsburg.
Written by my husband. So the food was great. It was very loud in there and our waitress was very inattentive. I had asked her if instead of vegetables on a particular veal dish they could give me a side of pasta with tomato sauce. She tried to sell me on getting the whole pasta entree to accompany it. I love love love Italian food and when I go to a nice place I always get a main entree and a side of the pasta. Always love trying it and have never had an issue with getting it. It's pasta for goodness sake. Can you get any less expensive? Ruined the meal. Her service and attempt at being accommodating in any way were just terrible. Will not go back just on that alone.
This is one of our go to places in Healdsburg. It took three visits before we ordered from the menu. The specials were too good to pass up. The main menu is as good as the special.
If you want a pre-dinner cocktail (I know I do), you'll have to preload. This is a wine bar with an excellent wine list. The people at he bar seem to be having a good time. I should probably check that out sometime.
Reservations are advised, especially on the weekends.
We sat at bar since a bus of tourists had invaded the restaurant. But everyone was happy and well Served. The Brick oven pizza was one of the best We ever had. Chopped salad was awesome. Bucatini was perfectly cooked and right amount of spice. Steve the bartender was very charming and knowlegdable. Made it a perfect evening.
The owner-chef is so caring of his customers, and so friendly, and the food is delicious. I have an allergy to the onion family--Chef made a special meal just for me that was delicious and onion-free. The server made sure that my allergy was communicated to Chef, and came back a couple of times to be sure of what I wanted for my meal. Our friends who joined us enjoyed every bite of their meals as well.
They source local seasonal ingredients, and use them creatively. The wine list offers some good choices to pair with the meal, reasonably priced. The vibe is friendly, with neighbors and friends welcomed by the hostess, who is Chef's wife. It's a nicely decorated space, with tables spaced so you don't feel crowded, but it gets loud when it's full of people, as it usually is.
We like to bring friends here as we know it will be consistently a good experience.
