Two of our party ordered to Al Forno on the special. It was not as described on the menu. The pasta seemed absent, the crab very scarce (tasted only), didn't taste the pancetta and a hint of leeks. All was overwhelmed by a huge glob of mozzarella. One of the party are less than half and the other one who ordered it, seasoned the heck out of it. Had either remembered the menu description, the would have sent it back.
Especially disappointing as we brought guests from Michigan to Baci where we had enjoyed dining before. Probably will not return.
Loved it and would recommend Baci Cafe and wine bar to everyone .
The food was amazing, and the wine list impressive. Unfortunately, the noise level made even a basic conversation difficult. Baci is a wonderful culinary experience!
Have had several meals now here over different occasions and all have been very good to outstanding. The owners are present and working and there are so many staff that but much gets missed. I
My wife and I were visiting wine country and looking for a place to have dinner that had some gluten-free options. Anytime my wife finds an Italian place with gluten-free pasta we have to give it a try.
We showed up 10-15 minutes prior to our reservation and were promptly seated. Even though it was a very busy Saturday evening, our drink and food orders were taken in a reasonable amount of time. And the wait staff made sure the entrees were not brought out until the salad and appetizer plates had been cleared, lots of places just bring out the food as soon as it is ready and this is a HUGE pet-peeve of mine.
Food was awesome. We shared a pear-Gorgonzola salad (Insalata di Lattuga con Gorgonzola) served family-style, this could be a meal for one person by itself. For the entree I had the spaghetti alla bolognese while my wife had gluten-free pasta con Salsiccia. After I finished my pasta and what my wife couldn't finish of hers, Drea told my wife they had a decadent chocolate cake for desert that was made without flour. While it was more like a dense brownie drizzled with chocolate sauce, it too was off the charts amazing.
Chef Shari came by our table near the end of the meal and my wife told him she had never tried a better gluten-free pasta. Ten minutes later he left us with a cooking lesson for making the perfect pasta as well as a bag of the gluten-free pasta (made by Garofalo) they order in from Italy which my wife has already found (and ordered) on Amazon.
We are members of a few wineries in the area that keep us coming back to the Healdsburg area a couple times a year and we have now added Baci Cafe & Wine Bar to the list of must-do items every time we come to town. I am really looking forward to trying the Puttanesca.
The food was wonderful, friends recommended Osso Boco and it did not disappoint us. The Best!
Great Wine - Rafanelli Zin is hard to beat.
We will be back!
We are well acquainted with Baci which is why we choose it for our Valentine's dinner. We had an early reservation which was perfect because we were headed to a playoff basketball game next. Owners were pleasant as always, and the service staff was excellent. I had mahi mahi
and my husband had rigatoni with meat sauce. Both were very tasty. The best was the panna cotta with berries for dessert.
This place is just fantastic. They take pride in what they do and it shows.
Our favorite restaurant in Healdsburg. Always greeted with a hug and made to feel like family. Menu is eclectic but not stuffy. The fish special and chicken were cooked and seasoned perfectly
3rd year running taking my gf here and we love the place! The ossobuco is fantastic
Our favorite "go to" in Healdsburg. The food is consistently good, the service is awesome and hosts/owners, Shari and Lisbeth, are the best and always visible.
Always fabulous food. We love everything on the menu.
Food is superb but small rooms and people equals noise. It was Valentine’s Day, so was very busy.
This is the best restaurant in Healdsburg, considering food, ambience, friendliness of staff, etc. Nothing pretentious or over-trendy. They've been in the biz many years, and they know how to please their customers. Locals all go there, and those who own wineries, a good sign. Simply the best!
Always a fantastic meal and great service. Highly recommend.
Excellent food and wonderful service. Went on a Saturday night. It was packed we were accommodated by making our own tasting menu with suggestions from our server. Had the crab stuffed cannelloni and onion soup.
I can't get over the large menu at Baci and the fact that we've never had a bad dish. I always seem to get drawn into the specials, but you can't go wrong with any of the menu items. The wine list is full of great, mostly local wines. The prices are very reasonable.
We were a group of 10 celebrating our daughter’s graduation. The service was impeccable. The food was delicious. The staff helped create the congratulatory ambience of joy and accomplishment we were so proudly trying to show her. We all had a marvelous time.
another fabulous meal by a wonderful team who always makes us feel so welcome!
We had been there a couple of times when we were in the wine country and loved it, so we took friends who live in Santa Rosa but hadn't been there. Everyone loved their meal. The sommelier took good care of us. The service was great.
As usual our evening was just right. We feel like family at Baci and that’s how we’re treated. I always over order so I have leftovers . Caprese salad, capellini in fresh tomato sauce and veal was a wonderful meal. Special pizza for my daughter was just right because it’s cooked in a pizza oven, wood fired. They also put their onion soup in that oven to finish it off. Highly consistent. Baci also offers truly fine wines by the glass, an example is the Selby Sauvignon Blanc. Outstanding service.
We have made several trips to Baci and all have been great. The food is excellent I had the short ribs - fantastic.
Every time we get to Healdsburg we eat at Baci. Great food and service.
As always Baci remains a favorite and a goto for us. Simply put when we want a great meal with great service in a delightful setting on a special occasion or even the odd week night we can always count on Baci to fill the bill...
Had a pasta dish - tagliatelle ala fruit de mare.
The dish had no taste. The scallops had a funny taste
And as a result I was sick all night with severe stomach
Pains from the meal. My spouse enjoyed his veal but
Found his side order of carbonara to be weak in its
Taste and flavor.
All in all it was not a successful experience.
This is a handsome restaurant with flavorful food priced a bit on the high side. The staff were engaging and accommodating. The noise level really put a dent in the evening for me. My friend and I could hardly hear each other across our small table. We both noted that, besides the acoustics of the restaurant be an issue, a lot diners talk and laugh very loud indeed (especially after a couple snorts). Since it was my friend's birthday, we were treated to a delicious dessert. I would recommend not going to this restaurant at peak hours unless listening to a raucous cacophony voices is your cup of tea.
The food and selection are great, but the noise level is unbearable. Baci really needs to figure out how to put in some soundproofing to cut back on everybody yelling at each other because no one can hear a darn thing in this restaurant.
We had a wonderful experience at Baci. We were on a mini-vacation and made a last minute reservation at Baci. Dre’s was delightful—she selected the perfect wine to pair with out seven course tasting menu. The food was delicious. Thank you!
I’ve been here a few times. The food is always great.
As usual, the food, service, and welcoming ambiance made our evening most enjoyable. I had friends visiting and we decided on the cioppino which Shari prepares with the freshest of seafood. Portions are large enough to serve two, or to take home some leftovers. Another outstanding meal.
