There are a lot of vegetation options without looking obvious so the mixed crowd had a lots of choices.
But would recommend staying with pizza or traditional Italian. The Bone-In chicken was very dry. The spinach ravioli was OK but not worth $18. Loved the setting atmosphere. Will try it one more time probably pizza and spaghetti.
This is the best Italian food I have had outside of Europe. The service was prompt, the gnocchi melts in your mouth, everything was wonderful!
This was not the worst dining experience I've ever had, but it was pretty disappointing. As soon as I entered the restaurant the hostess was friendly and pleasant, but the noise level was over-the-top and very distracting. I could barely have a conversation with my husband, who was sitting right next to me! The service was flat and non-engaging. The food was good, but could have been better. My dish did not look like the picture that appears online when you click on 'menus'. I ordered the Tagliata di Manzo and after checking the website when I got home, confirmed that it did not have the pretty green herbs on top and I think the server should have noticed. We were celebrating our anniversary and I was hoping for a nice evening out, but honestly, I couldn't wait to get out of there, mainly because of the noise. I understand that high energy can be good for business but this was very unpleasant.
Love everything about Bacco's except how the sound carries in the main dining room.
It's very loud inside.
Great Wine selection!
Here celebrating my girlfriend’s birthday and we had such a great time! Great service and delicious food👍🏼
Waitress was friendly but new and unable to answer questions about the wine or food. Food is always good. Some wines on the menu were unavailable but we found a suitable alternative. We asked for coffee with dessert and were asked, “Is decaf ok?” To which the answer among my crew is a definite “No.” however we weren’t offered a pour over or an alternative. Dessert here is weak, in both portion size and presentation but I love this restaurant and will likely return again and again with out of town guests.
The staff is always pleasant and efficient. Our favorite neighborhood restaurant!
Bacco is good for the tapas, but not sure if it’s my imagination that the prices have gone up? The chicken saltimbocca entree was fine, but not something I’d go back for. The service was very average. I really enjoyed this place in its first few years, but it was slow on a Sat. night and the staff could be more welcoming...
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant that always is reliable and relaxing. Love it!
Inconsistent and noisy. For the second time in a week I brought friends to Bacco and for the second time I was disappointed. The seafood mixed grill was excellent but a pizza was late to the table and probably was sitting waiting to be picked up. Service was spotty. One member had ordered a side of Brussel sprouts which never came. Bill was credited with no problem but I was asked three times if I had received the order. A second glass of wine sat at the bar for 10 minutes before being served. But the noise level is very high. You can't have a normal conversation and if your guest has a hearing aid, for get it.
Reasonably fresh burrata and the grilled eggplant and roasted red pepper was excellent. I had spaghetti carbonara, which was good if a bit salty. No fresh grated Parmesan. House Chianti was very good. But I was very disappointed in the cannoli. The shell was soggy and the cheese was tasteless.
I always enjoy Bacco. The service is excellent. The space is attractive. The best part is the food. It never disappoints. I had a scallop special that was perfectly done and delicious. We also enjoyed an excellent rose with the meal. A bonus at Bacco is the happy hour with many great choices.
We sat outside so the noise level was great. Inside is too loud for us! Thanks!
Our favorite in Boulder; never disappoints. We love the starters: there's a long list. Favorites are the pomodoro with the tomatoes always garden fresh, the grilled shrimp with lemon and an herbal olive oil infusion, avocado slices with goat cheese spread , red onion and a dab of sweet red chili sauce. And the mozzarella bar too! A nice selection of mains from pasta dishes to chicken, seafood and veal selections and always tempting specials. Another favorite is the gamberetto risotto with shrimp, roasted red peppers and asparagus. The shrimp is always cooked perfectly. Don't miss the scallops if they are on the specials menu-tender but with a good caramelizing sear. Friendly service in a pleasant and stylish atmosphere nearby in North Boulder with easy parking available.
Jeff was so accommodating and spot on with his dinner choices!
Bacco is a high quality, unpretentious Italian restaurant sitting quietly in North Boulder. The menu is quite diversified, with many beef, chicken, fish, veal and pasta choices. The wine list isn't extensive, but is well chosen and fairly priced. Having eaten here many times (more in the past than presently--our bad), we have always had excellent service from friendly and helpful servers. Many tasty appetizers and small plates--you could make that your whole meal. For us, the premier dish is the cioppino (fish stew), loaded with fish, shellfish and such, in a fantastic, savory soup--the kitchen will happily adjust the spiciness to your liking. This eatery is one of Boulder's best, and well worth driving up to NOBO.
One of my favorite Boulder restaurants. Large portions and always consistent. Excellent pasta dishes and entrees
Delicious food and great service. Always too loud.
Long-time neighborhood place. Pretty casual. Food is consistently good. Wine list is so-so (if you are a wine snob like me), but compatible with the menu and reasonably priced. We come here often when we don't feel like going downtown on a weekend night.
Great Italian restaurant in north Boulder. Great risotto, fish, lamb special and of course excellent pasta!
Excellent restaurant!!! Food is fantastic! Service is always the best!
Food was a little disappointing compared to previous visits. Pollo Bacco seemed rather bland
Good food and service
We have been going to Bacco for 6 years, always consistently good food. Two items I would not recommend are shrimp, they are always overcooked and tough and the minestrone soup, it tastes like watered down vegetable soup. The daily specials are always good. The service is always good also!
Great food. Wonderful staff.
Neighborhood gem. Excellent experience.
The menu was dirty with dried food on it; there were no salt and pepper shakers at the table; the asparagus was TINY--not the lush stems we like to eat. The best thing about the experience was the bread.
So many choices, and therein lies the rub! Risotto with mascarpone, mushrooms AND truffles??? So hubby asked for just mushroom risotto. They were happy to oblige. Another friend at the table also ordered risotto. It came. It was white rice with mushrooms in it. Not arborio, not risotto, not creamy, not not risotto............. Hubby too shy to send back. Service was great. My food and my friend's wife's food delish. Happily accommodated my gluten free needs. Probably shouldn't order the risotto...........
The food was and service were overall good. My husband didn't really like the Gnocchi dish he ordered. Not sure if it was a texture thing or if it wasn't prepared well. The meat balls are wonderful! The host wasn't overly friendly. Took awhile to even get noticed, then we were told to sit where ever we wanted, which was fine but, strange. The atmosphere was nice.
We come here often and are never disappointed. We always have three mozzarella cheeses with condiments and this time we added meats - it didn't disappoint. I had the butternut squash filled ravioli and it was yummy. If you come expecting a nice but not a wow dinner, you'll be happy.
We liked our dinner. It was our anniversary and I wrote that in our reservation, but no one said anything during our visit to Bacco. We went on Monday so it was happy hour all night! The service was mediocre, had to wait awhile to order our wine, then it took quite awhile before we received it. We had to hail our waitress a few times to ask her for more wine, etc. All in all it’s a fun neighborhood Italian place with great ambience, good lasagna and appetizers!
Can always count on an excellent meal. Food and service is predictably good.
My favorite Italian restaurant in Boulder. The food is delicious and the people are terrific.
Bacco is fast becoming a favorite. Excellent and friendly service in a convenient north Boulder location, nearby but away from the crowds and with easy parking. Varied menu with a nice list of starters; sometimes we make a meal of just those and are more than satisfied. The bruschetta Pomodoro is excellent and nicely accompanied by a small serving of dressed greens. Great house bread and a mozzarella bar along with a variety of pasta and risotto dishes as well as chicken. meat and fish offerings. They have pizza too but we haven't tried that yet. The chocolate mousse is rich and decadently wonderful.
Nice local kid friendly place with adequate food. Nothing special.
When my wife an I walked into the front door, the bartender stopped what he was doing and treated us as though he knew us for a million years. They gave us a great table for two in the back corner. The owner stopped by several times to check on us... the food, service and ambiance was great... it is a must see for anyone that likes Italian food. We live south of Denver, but will make Bacco’s a stopeach time we go to Boulder. Super great place
Always at the top of the list for happy hour/ dinnee....food is great, comfortable setting but the service is so variable I now think twice about going. There are not enough wait staff;that is the basic problem. But some of them seem trained NOT to scan the room or their tables so you can't signal for anything needed: more bread, more appetizers, paying the bill..
This adds so much dead time to your meal experience. I was a waitress and I know I could do better than our latest server. It's a shame since this is a good place otherwise
Great as usual! My family loves Bacco!
We really enjoyed the burrata, charcuterie. My husband ordered a steak medium rare and it was well done. Professional servers, good ambience. Would still recommend.
