Excellent food--great menu. I am Italian and a tough critic--the pasta was perfectly cooked. The menu had a lot of thought and the seasonal dishes were appreciated--great specials. Upstairs looking down on the fun happening below is great people watching--a great place to take a large group. Excellent service.
As always, Bacco displays excellence in service, ambiance and of course their food. They continue to set the example for others to follow. Keep up the great work!
wonderful service, good food moderate noise level.
We consistently get a great meal and great service. Downstairs is a little busier with the bar if you like that and upstairs is quieter. Great drinks and food.
After running thru thunderstorm, we were cooly greeted then taken to a table practically in the kitchen/service area. After requesting a different table not by two large/loud groups, we were grudgingly given a banquet table for 4 in a room 1/3 full. Waiter couldn't be nicer/more accomodating. Good meal. But hard to get over welcome.
The service was very poor this night. There were 3 table 2 waiters and it took us 2 hours to each because the waitress never checked in on us. I go here regularly and have never had such poor service. Love the food tho!!
The food wS amazing and the service was excellent!!!
I love Bacco!!! Always so yummy 😍
Excellent!! Favorite restaurant when visiting Boston
Beautiful space & ambiance. Very good wine. Server clarified the spaghetti was the house made pasta. We both ordered it but were not convinced it was fresh made pasta. The server's wine recommendation was on point.
Great location, nice ambience. Attentive service. Nice wine. Was a little disappointed in the food, not as great as what I've had there in the past.
terrific authentic Italian food, everything was great
I ordered the salmon special with vegetables and everything was cooked to perfection. There were two homemade spinach raviolis under the salmon that were soaking up the lemon caper sauce. It was light and very satisfying!
Celebrating a retirement. Asked for 2nd floor table which we were given. Food was delicious. Calamari was lightly battered - highly recommend. 4 of us ordered a special of the evening and everyone was happy with their meal.
Always great food!
Third visit to Bacco. From host staff to server, we were treated very well. Food was tasty and served timely. Love the window seating upstairs.
We often dine in the North End and Bacco has become a favorite. I had the porcini ravioli in a shallot cream sauce(delicious), my wife had their butternut squash ravioli(her favorite there), our friend ordered the veal parmigiana and was surprised with the size of his portion(huge), we all brought a little extra hme form the restaurant for lunch the next day. I also recommend their carbonara dishes from prior visits.
Not exceptional but very decent traditional North End eatery
Food was good, service was not. The waiter never told us about any of the specials, but we heard every other table get that info. The waiter spilled wine every time he poured it, never acknowledging it or apologizing. He removed items from the table before we were done with them. At the end of the meal, we waited for about 10 minutes after completely finishing everything, including water, for him to bring the check. He was standing 8feet from us, and we were his only table, so being busy was not the issue. That said the other wait staff seemed to be doing a fine job with the other tables.
Outstanding food, good wine and nice atmosphere. Quiet and able to talk and have a good conversation. Lobster ravioli as appetizer was fantastic, and the surf and turf and special seafood pasta was fantastic.
We tried Bacco as part of Dine out Boston. There was a good selection of items to chose from on the menu. The wine menu was extensive and we really enjoyed our cocktails. The waiter was attentive and the staff were helpful.
We frequent the North End, but this was our first time at Bacco. It will not be our last.
This was restaurant week in Boston, so the prices were very good, a three course dinner for $33. Everything we ordered was delicious. Of particular note was the calamari - lightly battered and perfectly fried. I had the salmon with gnocchi which was equally excellent. For desert, the tiramisu was wonderful.
The only negative was the condition of the mens room - small, dirty, toilet stall did not lock, and in the basement. They should do better.
Hello again. I'm pretty much a regular here. My go to restaurant for any and every occasion! I love this place. Did restaurant week with you this past Sunday.
Food was awesome once again!
We were seated by the entrance, by the bar. Our waiter was great and he was always looking out for us...coming over pouring wine in our glasses while he was multi-tasking and being the bartender as well!
Thanks again and we will be back soon! Probably one of the top 10 restaurants in the North End. :-)
Have had dinner here several times over the past couple of years...always consistent, the staff is wonderful, service is great and the food is always fantastic! Such a warm and friendly environment. Never disappoints.
Went for restaurant week and had a great 3 course dinner! The butternut squash ravioli was delicious.
This place was fantastic! Great appetizers - get the calimari. The meals of pan roasted salmon with jumbo shrimp and gnocchi in a vodka cream sauce, and gnocchi bolognese were excellent. Cap it off with some canolli and you have a great meal! Extensive wine list and a large beer selection for the north end, including Peroni.
I also left my backpack at the restaurant accidentally and the owner let me in early the next day to get it! Great guy, great restaurant!
Food was very bland. A disappointment. Not very enticing atmosphere. Might be better in good weather.
Our reservation process was easy, the hostess was lovely and our service was absolutely outstanding! Saturday night was certainly bustling, however our server was extremely attentive and each course was delivered without a hitch. That being said, the food really left a lot to be desired. I had read the reviews which seemed to vary greatly- unfortunately, I strongly agree with the contingency that the food lacked flavor. My husband and I started with the Polenta cake and ragu which was not horrible however was the highlight of my meal. The ceasar salad had too much dressing. The Chicken Parm needed to be tenderized and was overcooked. The Veal Saltimbacca was begging for more flavor and the veal needed some breading or texture of some sort. Positive note- the lava cake was delightful. I really expected more for a North End Italian eatery.
My boyfriend and I celebrated my birthday at Bacco a couple weeks ago. We made reservations for the actual night of my birthday. I have read great reviews and have been wanting to try Bacco as Italian is my favorite type of food. The food was good, but I've had better Italian around the North End. Aside from that, the wine glasses were around $10/each and you barely got half a glass. Overall the food/drink experience was mediocre, but I wouldn't go out of my way to complain about that. I had the frutti di mare and my boyfriend had the salmon special. it was very fresh and they gave you just enough to not feel completely bloated or overly full afterwards.
The reason I'm actually disappointed in Bacco is because they knew it was birthday (having mentioned it to me about 7-8 times), and they didn't bring out a special dessert, or anything of that sort. I'm not sure if it was because the waiter was new or if that is their standard practice, but it was a bit weird?
I didn't expect them to bring me out a full triple layer cake with 28 candles in it and have every sing, but it would have nice to have actually made my birthday a LITTLE more special than your average night out for dinner? Moral of the story is: they knew it was my birthday, and still made it just a mediocre experience.
Great food. Could have had a bigger table. That was my only gripe.
Food was great and service was as well. Very quick but not rushed.
Bacco was a great choice for hosting friends who were in Boston for the first time. The service was exceptional and accommodated the fact that we needed to hurry to a celtics game. The food and service were great.
We had a party of 4 date night dine here on Saturday evening and we were very disappointed. The special occasion of eating in the north end certainly gave us high expectation and this restaurant did not come close to meeting those. Service was excellent and that is where the positives end. Dining room is louder than anywhere I've ever eaten. Food was flat out poor. I've had much better Italian at chain restaurants. Calamari was fair at best and rather tough. Beef Carpaccio was miniscule with zero flavor. I had the veal saltimbocca which was inedible while everyone else had pasta dishes which were ok at best. I would never return nor recommend.
Excellent establishment and never disappoints in either the quality of the food or the level of service.
We went for my birthday, just two of us. The restaurant accommodated a change in our reservation and was more than friendly about it. The food was delicious...absolutely delicious. I had butternut squash ravioli for my entree and for an appetizer, we had arancine. For dessert we had molten chocolate cake. Everything was phenomenal. Our waiter was beyond friendly and attentive. Overall, I LOVED the experience.
Came to Bacco on NYE with several friends. Our table was ready on time for our reservation (I was expecting a delay due to the holiday, and was pleasantly surprised by this.) The service was excellent and the wine we had was great.
Unfortunately, the entree I ordered (Salmon Bianco) was possibly the worst meal I've ever had in a restaurant. I didn't want to make a big deal since we were out celebrating the holiday, and the server never specifically checked back after the food had been delivered. (He did provide very good service otherwise!)
The salmon itself was extremely dry and flavorless, and the rest of the meal was virtually inedible--dried out angel hair on top of a pool of liquid with "roasted" vegetables that were under seasoned and terribly overcooked. I literally ate about three bites of my meal. I am super easy to please when dining out, so please believe me when I say the meal was literally inedible.
Maybe it was just an off night, but I definitely wouldn't come back here!
I received an email halfway through my Christmas dinner with my fiancé and it said they cancelled my open table reservation after I already checked in. So I had to spend 5 minutes with the staff and manager to figure it out while I should have been enjoying my night. Her solution was to throw free appetizer card my way for another night and tell me to book 12/29/2016 and they'd check me in then. It all worked out in the end I guess, but I hope they aren't canceling other people's open table reservations only for them to get home and not realize they lost out on points.
Fun night. Good food.
We've been to numerous north end restaurants and the food at Bacco is at the very top of the list. The only negative is they forgot the requested birthday candle with our dessert. A very small item in an otherwise superb dining experience.
