Bacchus Wine Bar & Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We sit at the bar whenever we dine here and the service is excellent. Bartenders make very good drinks. The food is exceptional. Dishes are very creative and the specials are consistently good. Calamari (I order it without the shrimp) and Steak and Eggs (beef carpaccio) are delicious appetizers. Rib eye is to die for if you're hungry. Bar is lively and can be a bit noisy but it is generally a friendly atmosphere.
Our dinners were delicious from our small plates to our entrees. The service was outstanding and our waiter, Paul, took great care of us. I had a very generous gift certificate and while my son was visiting, we decided to use it. My steak was butter knife tender and my husband and son thought their seafood was delicious too. We split a creme brulee cheesecake for dessert and that was wonderful as well. We had a terrific experience and I'd happily return!
The food was excellent as always. However, we waited over 20 minutes for our table even though we had a reservation. Another couple came after us, but was seated before we were. When we finally got to our table, we found a dirty plate on our table. When we asked our server for a clean plate, he didn't seem phased by it or apologetic.
Take a moment right now, and Thank the person who recommended you to this place. Or better yet, if you came across this wonderful place on your own. Please feel free to pat yourself on your back, you deserve it. Why??, you may ask. Thats simple, you are just a call or Open table away from making a reservation to a great dining experience.
Baccahus is my wife and my favorite place to dine for every occassion, even if we come just for desserts and a drink. The food is amazing, if I was to get into the details of the appettizers all the way to the actual dinner. I would need more space in this review than I am allowed. But Morpheus from the movie the Matrix said it best. "You take the blue pill, your hope for a great time ends. ... You take the red pill, you stay in Wonderland, and Baccahus will show you how great your dining experience goes."
Take the red pill people and enjoy your evening.
The problem sometimes is first impressions. We had a drink at the bar and the receptionist said she would prepare the table. The seat I was going to sit at was littered with what looked like dried rice and next to the table was a heap of ground in bread crumbs on the floor. If you are going to an upscale place with prices to match you would expect more attention to detail. The service was a little slow to start. We sat and stared at each other thinking we hit a "waiter dead zone" while we waited to order cocktail. The food was fine but not exceptional.
Visted Bacchus for the first time 10/13 to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our server was friendly, informative, and attentive and assisted us in choosing a wine that was perfect for us. She also offered valuable information and advice when we were deciding on entrees. Menu selections were innovative, with a nice choice between several fish entrees in addition to the traditional meat-centered fare. Vegetarian options were lacking. Appetizer servings were large and facilitated ease in sharing/tasting among the four diners. Entrees were similarly generous, with everyone taking a portion home to enjoy later. Food was tasty if slightly over-sauced for my liking. I ordered the Ahi Tuna entree and would have enjoyed it much more if I had known to order sauce on the side (or absent altogether). Dessert selection were quite disappointing with very little innovation evident. Our group opted to enjoy delicious french-press coffee before departing to take advantage of dessert options elsewhere. Overall, a wonderful meal with stellar service.
Between the 4 of us, we had 4 different entrees. All 4 entrees were fantastic! The complementary, homemade apple pie our waiter brought for our birthday celebration was superb as well.
Our waiter was probably the best waiter we have ever had serve us. Unfortunately, I am drawing a blank on his name...
Once again, we enjoyed an excellent dinner at Bacchus. The food never disappoints- delicious, well crafted fare that is not pretentious. Our waiter was knowledgeable and attentive, and our food arrived on a perfect schedule to make our show without feeling rushed. This has become one of our favorite restaurants in the city- we recommend it highly!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Bacchus. We had dinner prior to a show at Shea's and we didn't have any issues making it to the show on time. I had the Salmon and it was to die for!
Our waiter, Paul was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. I can't say enough about the establishment, food or staff!
