Bacchus Wine Bar & Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant was very loud. We could barely hear each other. Desserts were very limited - nothing simple like ice cream, gelato or sorbet. I had the roast chicken with a side of grilled asparagus which was very good. The server surprised our friend with a slice of birthday cake which was sweet. But then my scarf was missing from the coat rack. Strange that a restaurant of this caliber wouldn’t have a coat check. Overall it was a mixed experience.
My husband specifically asked for duck to be crisp and well done
Waiter brought out red and raw and then we were unable to flag him down
After 15 min my husband lost patience and return plate and drank coffee while the rest of us finished our meals
Very discouraging as it was his birthday we were celebrating
Food was well prepared and delicious. Husband got the filet mignon and asked for it to be done medium well, which is how he likes his steaks cooked. It was perfectly cooked to his liking.....which is sometimes not an easy task. Waitress was attentive, but not in an annoying way. I loved that they had free valet parking. It was a cold night, so the fact you could get out of your car at the front door and not have to worry about walking far in the cold, was a bonus!
Bacchus is a great place to eat before attending a show at Shea's. They have valet parking, and you can walk to Shea's (a block and a half). We have never had a bad meal. The service is excellent and the staff is very friendly. We have been going there for three years. My wife and I would definitely recommend it.
Everything was fantastic! The meal was excellent. I always order the beet salad and it is superb! (Perhaps a little more goat cheese would do) The ribeye and salmon were perfectly cooked and delicious. Service was excellent, all wait staff were friendly and accommodating. Valet service was appreciated and they let us leave the car and come back after the theatre to retrieve it.
Favorite restaurant however meal, arrived cold.. the waiter comped a drink, I ate alone since my wife had completed her meal. I don’t want to give up on Bacchaus because I truly love the place. This was just a bad, expensive experience that I would never expect from Mr. Meitus.
Outstanding in every way! Atmosphere; candlelit tables, comfortable seating, perfect level of lighting and background music makes for eaay conversation even for larger parties. Service is attentive and professional. The food is stupid good. Creative but not too out there. Something for every pallet. Flexible. Extremely customer experience focused. Owner/Chef Brian Mietus is a truly gifted gem. Exceeded expectations from small plates to dessert.
I met friends there for a pre-concert meal with wine. Our waitress was fantastic, humorous but not over-the-top and right in with a bunch of women. I had the mussels which were wonderful and the beet salad. If you like beets you will love the beet salad. The only other place I had better mussels were in Belgium, Europe. You've got to try their mussels if you like them. Def. recommend the restaurant. A good local restaurant in the local restaurant gems of Buffalo, NY
Once again, Bacchus delivered. Delivered the EXACT same experience that I’ve had every time I come to this incredible establishment. Once a year I come in for a Bills game and every single time I come to Bacchus. From the environment they maintain to the servers that grace the tables to the absolutely incredible food the chef produces, Bacchus creates an atmosphere that is incredibly memorable...
I’ll be back next again next year Bacchus...
It has been a couple of year since I last visited Bacchus. This most recent time certainly did not disappoint, and left us wondering why we waiting so long before visiting. In the nut shell, the food was absolutely superb. My ahi tuna, my date's swordfish, and our friend's pork chop special were uniformly and absolutely out of this world. The special roasted garlic bisque was likely superb. The service was exemplary, with an attentive but not overbearing staff. It was truly an enjoyable evening. Also notable was a knowledgable staff and wines.
This was our first visit to the Bacchus Restaurant in Buffalo, NY. We Had the Portobello goat cheese salad, roasted duck breast and the porcini mushroom ravioli, accompanied by a Finger Lakes White. Service was efficient, attentive and friendly. Cuisine was the best we've had in a while. Definitely a place for a great date night. Thank you Bacchus.
I recently hosted a four person business meal; after an intense three hour brainstorming session; I mentioned it to Steve the manager and my favorite ; knowledgeable waiter. They pre -selected an off the menu Rioja red wine that was perfect for the occasion, the service was beautifully paced; and along with the excellent food it led to an outstanding evening of food and fellowship. My client will be a repeat customer. We had the beet salad and deep fried calamari and rock shimp, for appetizers ;both were able and very tasty. The bread course is always interesting and the oil is very well seasoned. Two of us had the halibut special with was served with cubed squash and curry species, it was memorially unusal and delicious. The other two had the filet minion which were both perfectly medium rare. We finished the meal with cognac and all left delighted and looking forward to our next visit.
We sit at the bar whenever we dine here and the service is excellent. Bartenders make very good drinks. The food is exceptional. Dishes are very creative and the specials are consistently good. Calamari (I order it without the shrimp) and Steak and Eggs (beef carpaccio) are delicious appetizers. Rib eye is to die for if you're hungry. Bar is lively and can be a bit noisy but it is generally a friendly atmosphere.
